As soon as we made it to the meadow, Togepi began to rush up to us. It was pretty amusing seeing a batch of Togepi run up to us with their tiny legs. Some even rolled over since that seemed to be faster, and before we knew it we were surrounded by a group of curious Togepi.
I did not doubt that this was because my Pokemon were a happy and positive lot, especially Mothra/Butterfree, Enji/Arcanine, Nyx/Umbreon, and Luna/Clefable.
We told the Togepi why we were there and then got dragged into playing with them. They were a cute bunch and refusing them was really hard, not that we had a reason to do so since I was actually there to spend time with them, and to pick out one that would hopefully join us.
I made sure to check out each Togepi I came across once while we were playing around, and thankfully all I had to do was keep them entertained since our playing/merriment lured more and more Togepi over, and even a few Togetic joined in.
Still, the elder Togekiss that was accompanying us reminded them and indirectly me as well that I was only allowed to bring out a Togepi since the evolution of a Togepi was a significant step in the bond and relationship between a Togepi and its trainer.
It was always better to partner up with a Togepi than a Togetic or Togekiss since the bond between them nearly always ended up being of a higher quality.
By the time lunchtime came around, 3 hours had passed, and I had checked a lot of Togepi. The most outstanding one of them ended up being a Togepi with Deep Blue potential.
Really, I was supremely thankful to the academy since I doubted I would have seen so many Pokemon with such high potential in such a short period if not for them. I mean I had seen more blue potential Pokemon and above during these visits than I had seen during the last few years in the wild.
Well, theoretically these habitats were also considered wild areas that simply had a symbiotic/working relationship with the academy and Aura Guardians, but the human element was involved, so whatever.
Anyway, his potential was quite high, and just like all the Togepi I had seen so far, his prowess was at the iron stage. Most Togepi seemed to either be at the (low) or (mid) iron stage, and even the number of stageless Togepi was higher than those at the (high) iron stage.
I mean, I only saw two Togepi at the (high) iron stage until now, but 6 that were at the stageless phase. Elder Togekiss told me that I could not take them even if the little ones wanted to unless I miraculously managed to establish a genuine bond with them upon meeting, which was practically impossible.
The elder said that they were still too young to leave their parents so unless there was an exceptional reason they could not leave the sanctuary. Still, back to the Togepi that stood out.

He was pretty good, even if he did not have the optimal ability combination, at least the one I thought of as the best. Anyway, once it was time for lunch, I began pulling out the utensils and materials I needed to cook curry.
I had everyone help me with cooking, even Enji so that he did not feel left out. He was responsible for lighting the fire and making sure it stayed at the right temperature.
The others helped with the cooking and later with handing out the food. Those with the proper build helped using their hands and the rest use Psychic/Telekinesis to help, some even used both.
Just like before, the curry lunch was a big hit, and a lot of Togepi, Togetic, and Togekiss showed up for lunch. Seeing Togepi walk away carrying plates nearly as large as them was pretty funny and adorable.
Watching them eat the curry with gusto was pretty amusing and cute. I also managed to find another outstanding Togepi while handing out the curry.

He had the same potential as the other one, but he was a bit stronger, and he had Super Luck instead of Serene Grace. Unfortunately, that was also not my preferred ability combination, so he ranked pretty much the same in my mind as the other one.
That both of the outstanding Togepi were male was not surprising since it was a simple numbers game. The gender ratio for their line was too skewed toward males, so females could be considered rarer among Togepi, with roughly only every 8th one being female.
Regardless, after cleaning up everything, we spent another three hours playing/mingling with the Togepi and Togetic, as well as the few Togekiss that decided to stick around after lunch.
During this time, I found a few interesting Togepi. Some had blue potential, some had decent talents, and one was even shiny. Unfortunately, that one had only light blue potential on top of not having my favorite ability configuration. That he was at the stageless phase, meaning out of my reach, might have been a factor as well.
Nonetheless, none of them were as good as the deep blue duo in my eyes. I even saw a few Togepi with the abilities I wanted, but the best one among them had blue potential and was stageless.
It was not until a few minutes till 6 p.m, a bit before I had to leave and thus make a decision that I found a Togepi that fulfilled my expectations and that I could bring out.

Not only did she have Deep Blue potential, but she had both Serene Grace and Super Luck as her abilities, which was much better than having Hustle in my opinion. Oh, and she belonged to the minority of female Togepi as well, which could probably be considered lucky as well.
I saw no reason to hesitate and asked her if she wanted to come with me, and it looked as if she wanted to agree, but she ended up looking towards a pair of Togekiss first. Only after they nodded and encouraged her did she agree, so I brought out one of my Fairy Balls and blood registered it before catching her.
The two Togekiss came up to me after that and asked me to take good care of their daughter. I called out Togepi and let her say her goodbyes to them after their words confirmed that they were her parents.
After that, the elder Togekiss told us that he would be escorting us back to our initial arrival point, and we left while saying goodbye to everyone. I was carrying Togepi in my arms, and she was chatting with Mothra and Nyx.
A few moments after we made it to the arrival point Gallade showed up. I first recalled everyone, except for Togepi before saying goodbye to the elder Togekiss. Gallade then brought me back to Mr. Cameron's office and he congratulated me since he could see Togepi in my arms.
After some small talk, he reminded me to be on time on Grouday before sending me away. I made it home by 6:30 p.m, and I kept carrying Togepi the whole time to talk to her while I was walking. I told her about myself about the Pokemon I had, in addition to the ones she had already seen, and about my parents.
I naturally did not talk about anything that was connected to Utopia while we were outside, and just went over nonsecret stuff. Still, it helped Togepi learn about me and she also talked about herself in as much detail as a non-sapient Pokemon could.
Fairy types belonged to the group that gained sapience really early, so she was not far from gaining sapience, which meant her narration was pretty good anyway. From this, I estimated that it would take her less than 3 months to gain full sapience which was pretty good.
Once we made it home my parents greeted me, and after mom noticed Togepi she rushed up to me and began gushing over how cute Togepi was. Togepi meanwhile enjoyed the positive energy mom was radiating and the attention she was showering her with.
Dad congratulated me for gaining another partner before also praising Togepi. Mom asked for permission to hold Togepi. After Togepi gave an okay, mom took her from my arms and carried Togepi herself. Then we moved to the dining table where everything was already set, and we began eating our dinner while talking.
Mom asked me for some fairy food, knowing that I had prepared some in advance, and fed Togepi while eating her own dinner on the side. I naturally did not forget the others and made sure to hand out everyone's dinner inside Utopia as well using my second thought stream.
After dinner, we moved to the living room with mom still holding onto Togepi, and we watched some TV while mom was half paying attention to the TV and half playing with Togepi who was doing the same. It was only an hour later that I took Togepi from mom and went upstairs.
Once I was in my room I did the usual before entering Utopia. Utopia naturally did its usual thing after registering Togepi's entry, and I explained to Togepi where we were, while also making sure that she knew that Utopia was a secret she could tell no one. It was better they knew about it being a secret, even if the secret was safe anyway.
The process went smoothly like always and was pretty successful. She would have been able to unlock a talent, but I made sure that it got temporarily sealed since I wanted to wait until she evolved to Togetic before unlocking her talent.
She also managed to unlock an egg move even if no modifiers were attained. Anyway, once the process was complete, I checked her status using my second thought stream, while keeping up my explanation with the first/main one.

Her status was pretty good, and I learned that she had turned 2 years old just two months ago. After asking her I also learned that she left her stageless phase just a few months ago, which somewhat fit what I learned about the general maturity speed of Togepi.
I said somewhat since she was a bit faster than the average since the general maturity time for Togepi was 2-2.5 years. The same article mentioned that they usually gained sapience between 2.5 and 4 years, or the (mid) iron stage, with the occasional outlier gaining sapience at the (low) and (high) iron stage.
Anyway, her talent increased straight to purple, and she was already close to 40% at that, which was pretty good. This meant I had another Pokemon that had the potential to reach (light) aurora potential before the gold stage.
The lack of modifiers as well as her suppressed talent had already been known beforehand, and her parameters were no big surprise either. In fact, I'd say they were not bad at all considering that she only reached the iron stage a few months ago.
The type relation was the standard one of the fairy type, even though I had to admit that the immunity to the dragon type did make me pat Togepi's head in admiration.
Her move pool did surprise me a bit since I did not expect her to have had an egg move before Utopia granted her another one. Extrasensory was a pretty good one as well.
That she had quite a few moves surprised me a bit as well but it made sense if one took into account that her parents were two Togekiss. The lukewarm mastery could easily be explained by her age and the fact that her parents had her focus on her egg move and Fairy Wind.
Her new egg move being Aerial Ace was a bit funny since the image of a Togepi using the move made me chuckle a bit. Still, all in all, her status screen was pretty good, and I could not stop myself from rubbing her head a few more times.
After checking her status screen and finishing my introduction/explanation speech, I brought her out of the mansion/house before I called everyone over to introduce her to them.
Everyone quickly gathered around us and I began introducing Togepi to them. She worked her Charm and everyone was happy about meeting her. After I finished the preliminary introduction, I officially began our traditional newcomer welcome party.
I pulled out the tables, chairs, pillows, snacks, as well as drinks, and we began to celebrate the addition of Togepi to our family.
