Chapter 174 - CH43 (173), Final Round (2)

"Mikail Geo from the Aaron Aura Academy versus Yu Tianjin from the Rota Knight Academy." The referee called the two of us to the field.

Yu had his Zebstrika and Staraptor, while I called out Luna/Clefairy and Horus/Xatu. I actually thought about using Thor/Pikachu, but then I remembered that the Zebstrika-line had not only Lightning Rod but also Motor Drive as an ability.

So, it would have either one of those or if its potential was high enough even both. In both cases using electric moves would be useless, and might even be detrimental. So, I went with Luna instead, since her Gravity directly took out Zebstrika's biggest advantage, its speed.

'Alright, Zebstrika will be left to Luna. After Gravity its movement should be hampered enough that it will be no longer pose a real danger to you. So, feel free to use your Metronome on him, real battles are great practice opportunities for moves.' Luna nodded at my mental order and I moved on to Horus after receiving her acceptance.

'Meanwhile, Horus will deal with Staraptor. I don't have any real instructions for you. You're free to deal with it however you want as long as you keep it away from me.

Well, actually, you can focus on using Psychic if you want to. Targeting a relatively strong Pokemon capable of struggling out of your psychic grip should be good training. It should help master the move, but I leave the decision to you.' I told him, and he returned a 'Roger, Roger'.

I was so thankful for the mental link. Giving orders or talking, in general, happened so fast mentally that whole conversations just took seconds. Otherwise, I would never be able to give those instructions out loud before the referee gave the starting signal.

Ah, speak of the devil. As soon as I thought that, the referee gave the starting signal and my Pokemon sprang into action. Horus teleported behind Staraptor and used Psychic to hurl it away from everyone else before teleporting after it, or rather to the place he threw Staraptor to.

Staraptor meanwhile managed to break out of Horus's Psychic after struggling for a bit. Still, by the time it did, it was already pretty far from the others, and Horus was already waiting for it.

Horus used Air Slash to attack it as soon as it broke free and kept it up for a bit forcing Staraptor to dodge. Whenever Staraptor tried to fire back he used Protect to block the attack or he simply dodged out of the way.

He would use Teleport to cut it off every time it tried to return to the side of the others before using Psychic as some form of punishment. He tried to make it harder for Staraptor to break out of his control.

"You fake bird!!! Stop teleporting around and stop using your psychic bullshit to immobilize me." Staraptor screamed at Horus.

"Awww, you hurt my feelings. I'm 100% bird." Horus joked before taunting Staraptor for a bit.

"It's not my fault that I not only look better than you but also am stronger. Really, I'm doing you a favor. If I didn't want to train these moves a bit in a fight I would have knocked you out already.

So, you should thank me really. I mean it would have been suuuper embarrassing for you if you had been knocked out seconds after the fight started." He explained in a tone that said I'm doing you a big favor, no need to thank me, while Staraptor was trying to struggle free from his latest Psychic.

"Argh, favor my feathered ass. Knocked out in seconds? In your dreams maybe. I'll show you who knocks out who." It screamed before it managed to break free.

While this was happening the others had been fighting their own battles. Luna had used Copycat on Horus as soon as he Teleported. Afterward, she used it to appear behind Zebstrika before using Gravity on it. So, before it even had a chance to react, it was under the effect of increased gravity.

Once she had turned Zebstrika into a glorified target, at least in her eyes, she began using Metronome on it as Mikail had told her.

Her family-head always had great ideas like this. Using weaker foes to hone one's moves was brilliant. At least this way she wouldn't be wasting her time with them.

'Oh, it finally turned around. Just in time as well, since Metronome is ready too. I aimed for a Flamethrower, let's see what I get." Luna thought before releasing the attack summoned by her Metronome.

"You pink blob. Stop using Gravity on me this instant. Face me without any tricks if you can and I'll," Zebstrika screamed while turning to face Luna before being hit in the face by a Dragon Breath interrupting whatever it planned to say next.

"Oooh, Dragon Breath. It's not the Flamethrower I was aiming for, but close enough I guess. Let's try again." Luna clapped her hands at her near success before using another Metronome.

"Face me like a man! Argh!!!" Zebstrika screamed before being hit by a Scald.

"I'm a woman, you imbecile." She yelled before blasting him with a Moonblast.

'Well, at least Scald is hot right, so I'd say that one was close as well. Still, for this steak on four legs to dare call me a man, I think it needs a hands-on lesson.' She thought while blasting Zebstrika.

Mikail on the other hand was facing Yu, just like planned.

As soon as Horus and Luna began their attack I moved towards Yu. I first strode over at a slow pace before using my maximum aura enforcement on my legs and moving at my highest speed towards him.

I managed to catch him off guard through my sudden pace change and managed to arrive in striking distance. I immediately delivered an aura boosted punch but luckily for him, he managed to react fast enough to place the shaft of his spear in front of him.

While he somehow managed to block my punch, the force behind it, literally, blew him back. I quickly followed after him, but Yu managed to correct his position mid-flight and use his spear to slow his flight until he stopped in a crouching position.

Now, if he was not my opponent I would have given him a thumbs up because that looked badass, but since he was my foe I just delivered a Spartan kick before he could fully stand up.

Sadly, he managed to dodge by rolling to the side. The only reason I could think of why he did that without impaling himself or losing his spear was that he actually practiced that dodging maneuver.

Yu sprang up and got in a ready position before I could reach him after his dodge, and this time around he was ready when I came close. He used his spear to keep me at a distance and I had to use my arm guards to block his spear strikes or dodge them.

However, he managed to keep me away. We then went into a phase where we were simultaneously attacking and defending. I was trying to get closer and he was trying to keep me away while trying to skewer me.

Then after I diverted Yu's latest stab, I managed to grab ahold of the spear shaft. I directly used aura to reinforce my grip so that he couldn't free his spear since I was planning to rip it out of his hands.

Yet, this guy still managed to get his spear out of my grip using a movement that looked like some taichi-like bullshit. That resulted in us returning to our back and forth.

Still, I suddenly felt Luna's anger over our bond. I had no idea how Yu's Zebstrika managed to piss off Luna enough for me to feel her anger over the bond, but I actually pitied him.

This meant I had to beat Yu pretty soon if I wanted to beat him before she was done with Zebstrika. In case kicking its ass did not calm her anger and she decided to teach its trainer a lesson as well. While it would be hilarious to watch her trash Yu, I'd like to beat him myself.

Just as Mikail was imagining, Luna was wrecking Yu's Zebstrika. She managed to put Zebstrika to sleep using Sing before she began hitting him with Meteor Mash after Meteor Mash. After the third one, Zebstrika woke up but she gave him an uppercut using Meteor Mash that knocked him out cold.

"Now, let's see if you dare call me a man again," Luna said while giving Zebstrika the last kick before she turned around to look in the direction of Mikail's fight.

The crowd experienced a collective shudder seeing a cute and harmless-looking Pokemon like Clefairy kicking an already unconscious opponent.

When Horus noticed that Luna had beaten her victim, sorry, he meant opponent, he turned serious as well.

"Alright, time's up. Unfortunately, our playing session has to end, so it's time for you to sleep." He said to Staraptor before using a Psychic to momentarily freeze it.

That was followed by a Steel Wing right at the noggin, which was to finish off the already hurt and tired Staraptor without giving it a chance to contradict him.

Once Staraptor was out cold Horus teleported them both to Luna's side before dumping it beside Zebstrika's body.

"Yo, Luna. What did he do to make you angry?" He asked Luna after seeing Zebstrika's body and sensing the anger that was diminishing at a fast pace.

"Something I'm sure he'll never repeat." She gave a perfunctory answer.

The two trainers that were still fighting obviously noticed the commotion and glanced over while keeping an eye on each other to avoid leaving an opening or a surprise attack.

Yu visibly tensed when he saw both of his Pokemon lying on the ground knocked out, while Mikail's Pokemon were leisurely chatting beside them. Knowing that he would definitely lose once they got involved he went on a desperate all-out offense.

*sigh*

'Horus could you immobilize him for a moment so that I can finish the fight.' I asked Horus over the mental link.

'I thought you wanted to take him out on your own?' Horus returned, which was true.

'I did, but his desperate attack forced my hand. I don't want to risk losing just because he got lucky with one of his swings. That would be a stupid way to lose.' I confessed, and he agreed.

'I can immobilize him too if you want to,' Luna interceded, but I declined her offer. 'Thank you, dear, but let's leave it to Horus this time.'

She agreed, and Horus flew over to use Psychic on Yu, who got stuck in the middle of a stabbing motion. I saw his body trembling, trying to break free of Horus's control, but I was not planning to give him that chance.

So, I swiftly moved in front of Yu and delivered a soft chop at his throat. The referee declared me the winner once I did that and Horus released Yu immediately after the announcement.

Now, that I had won, Yu directly got third place, which meant that the winner of the next fight between Erza and myself would receive first place, while the loser would get second place.

Another 5-minute break was given, which I used to give Horus and Luna a few energy bars I made. That would help them recover the energy they had spent in the last fight and reduce any fatigue they may have built up.

Health-wise, they were good to go, but I still gave them an Oran berry to eat. Meanwhile, I was also considering whom to use for the battle against Erza.

The question was would she use her Rapidash and Corviknight, or did she have another strong enough Pokemon that she kept as a surprise for this fight.

"Mikail Geo from the Aaron Aura Academy versus Erza Scarlet from the Rota Knight Academy." The referee called the two of us to the field once the break was over.

We both stood up and went to the field when he did that and released our Pokemon.
