Before I knew it the 3 months I had to spend visiting the second-year aura classes passed. I noticed pretty fast that the content of the lesson would be not really useless but also not really useful to me.
The second-year seemed to be geared towards those that are about to reach Tier 1 and those that have yet to reach the First-class of Tier 1. There was a subject on meditation for those trying to access their aurascapes.
The same lessons also helped Tier 1 aura users how to increase their absorption speed and volume, but I had tips as well as techniques that yielded better results so those lessons were mostly useless for me. I still used the time to increase my capacity while meditating, so it wasn't lost time.
There was also a subject on emotions and emotional nuances that dealt with the minor emotion sense one unlocked. That one was actually a bit useful even for me, so that was good.
Another subject dealt with the minor aura sense one unlocked and how to read the results one got. What the intensity might indicate, how to expand the range, and how to differentiate between clustered signs. Another somewhat useful lesson, but not really.
The final aura-centric subject was on minor aura speech. Here they dealt with which emotions to best use in which situation, how to correctly express certain emotions/feelings, and some fine-tuning on the release. They also talked about how to behave depending on the reaction towards one's aura speech.
This showed why Aaron knew when he could use the direct approach and when it was not advisable. The lessons were useful in general even if I knew most of the stuff, in this case, I had no problem with refreshing my memory.
Anyway, yesterday, which was Dialday the 06.22.2178, I finished my 3 months and the teachers did not even see the need for a full exam before giving me the green light to advance to the third year for my aura subjects.
They all did a verbal test. They asked some questions on the subjects but saw no need for a written test. I obviously knew the answers they wanted since I had already memorized the books they handed out. Yay, for psychic powers on top of aura ones.
Sorrel had decided to stay way before the topic was brought up because he apparently felt there was still a lot he could learn. Obviously, no one had a problem with that and I actually agreed with him.
The lessons were quite good after all and unlike me, Sorrel did not have a super-library inside his head. Besides, he was not the only big guy among the second years since there 3 others that had gone through an additional maturity in class S2-A alone.
That was pretty much it on the aura-centric subjects, but before I go over the regular ones let's talk about Ali or rather Ralts. Ralts had obviously already been sapient when I got him, with him being psychic type and all that.
He quickly integrated with my other Pokemon being fascinated with the high number of different friends he suddenly got and naturally my buddies were really nice to him. The fact that all of them were pretty strong as well fired him up.
Obviously, he was awed by Utopia and really liked his place as well. Anyway, roughly 1.5 months after I got him, he approached me and told me that he wanted a name as well.
I had actually planned to wait for a few more months before asking him on that topic, but he came to me before I could do it. He naturally could have chosen one on his own, but everyone else told him that we did so together and how great the story behind their names was, so he came to me as well.
We went over a few options and finally settled on Ali. We already had a Tyson and now we also had an Ali. As for his strength, 3 months were not enough to show visible progress, but he was making some progress nonetheless.
Now, on those regular lessons. Well, honestly most of them were useless for me. There were those I had no real interest in them like Physics and Chemistry. For these two I only memorized the stuff I needed and thanks to the computing boost the math portion was not that hard as well. I just could not get motivated for those two.
Music and Art were not really useful either, but I used them as recreational activities. There was also the fact that I could use the Art lessons to improve my drawing ability in case I needed it and Music made me remember some old songs while occasionally providing some new ones that I liked as well.
As I said they were more recreational than anything. Biology, Geography, Material Science, Pokemon Knowledge, Ethics, and History lessons were somewhat interesting because I occasionally learned some interesting and/or useful stuff.
A big one would be what I learned in a History lesson. Since this was an Aura Academy the history lessons had more stuff regarding aura than the history lesson in regular schools.
In that particular lesson, we talked about the legend of the first aura users. According to the teacher, the legend was true or rather had been confirmed by the higher-ups.
The legend said that Aura Users had been "created" by none other than Mew some 4000+ years ago. She did not mention the 4th restart, since they did not want to talk about that one, but the timeframe fit that period pretty well.
Since according to all legends and myths Mew was kind and a free spirit, Mew went about her whole blessing in a slightly different way compared to the legend I had heard on the Joy and Junsa families.
From what the teacher told us Mew decided to ask human children it took a liking to whether they would like a new power/ability. In exchange Mew only ASKED them to do good and help against bad guys if possible.
Mew made sure that they knew that it was in no way a demand, just a request. Mew also straight up told them that it would be harder for them to become bad guys, but that it was still possible even if it would make Mew sad if that happened.
What Mew did was make them just harder to corrupt not impossible, which was why there were Dark Aura Users. Mew did not turn them into goody two shoes, since the positive and neutral aspects were left alone. Only the resistance towards corruption/the negative was reinforced.
Anyway, there were actually some children that declined which shocked a few of my classmates when they heard that. Mew just accepted their refusal and asked others until 200 girls and 200 boys were chosen.
Once that part was done Mew gave the same offer to adults that fit Mew's requirements until there were 40 males and 40 females that agreed. However, unlike with the children Mew had a condition for the adults.
They had to agree to take 5 children each as students, which was why quite a few adults declined Mew's offer before the 80 adults were found. Still, Mew found the adults and gave them enough knowledge to reach Tier 3.
That was what they were supposed to use to get stronger themselves and what they were supposed to teach the children. As for the path after Tier 3 that was left for them to explore on their own.
The only additional thing Mew did was to bless all of them so that its gift would never vanish no matter how diluted their bloodline got, which was why Aura Users appeared even thousands of years later.
So, what probably happened was that Mew thought the Joy and Junsa families were not enough, so Mew decided to create a group with similar a purpose that was not tied to a single family.
I was pretty sure the other elementalists or energy groups probably had similar legends as well that involved a legendary or two. Yeah, as I said there were some pretty interesting lessons once in a while.
That did not mean that I did not ask about skipping some grades for my regular subjects as well because I did. However, unlike with aura-centric subjects, regular ones could not be skipped. This was an iron/alliance-clad rule and there were no exceptions.
There was pretty much nothing I could do so I just chose to accept the situation. Anyway, let's talk about my Pokemon. Two days ago we celebrated Ignis's 5th birthday. The party was just us spending time together and a lot of tasty food, but it was nice either way.
Four days ago Prime raised his energy capacity to SSS, which meant my Beedrill only had to do the same to his endurance to be ready for his breakthrough to the silver stage.
One day before that, so 5 days ago, Tyson successfully raised his energy capacity to SSS and broke through to the silver stage. As a result, my Machoke's potential improved to deep blue at over 75%. Oh, and he began at the (mid) silver stage but that had been the norm so far.
A week ago, Mars improved his endurance to C which let him reach the (high) silver stage. Since that was the point everyone was ready for their evolution I began looking around in my super-library for any possible evolution I did not know about.
I had done that for the other (high) silver-stage Pokemon as well but they had none. For Ursaring however, I actually managed to find a few mentions on the evolution that had been prevalent during the second civilization.
I spent more than 12 hours going over everything I had access to that was related to the topic. Apparently, the evolution was triggered by a special kind of earth/peat that later could not be found in the human territories due to changes that happened to the makeup of the ground with time.
With that Ursaluna vanished from our regions, but that did not mean they were gone. I was sure there were still some in places that changed to produce that earth/peat or places that had it that did not change at all.
The world was large after all and the human territories were only a small part of it, so finding some should not be impossible. Nonetheless, any excitement I had towards my discovery vanished after I found a picture of Ursaluna.
Still, I decided that I had to inform Mars about my discovery, no matter how much I disliked its look. Fortunately, Mars disliked the new evolution as well since it did not seem compatible with his preferred fighting style.
I did however promise him that I would try to find an alternative evolution that did not look like it had been made with dough and carton board. While I had not seen any inside my library, it shouldn't be impossible since the Ursaring species itself was still capable of evolving.
I obviously had to tell him that it would probably take years or even decades for me to succeed if it was even possible to do so. He had no problem with that and that cheeky bugger just patted my shoulder while saying he believed in me.
Abzu was the only other one that had made a big step. 10 days ago my male Milotic successfully raised his vitality to C and officially reached the (high) silver stage. Tiamat on the other hand was still at the (mid) silver stage. That was pretty much it on my Pokemon.
The only other thing that was worth mentioning were my phone calls with my parents. Their journey was going well from what they told me.
On 01.25.2178 the Academy had a month-long holiday and my parents were going to come over to our new house for that duration. While they had visited me 5 times over the last 3 months those were only for a day or two. This time they were going to stay for 3-4 weeks.
Regardless, that was still nearly 2 months away. So, I still had time to do some grand cleaning before that happened. I had to say I was really looking forward to it and not having to do all the chores for a whole month had nothing to do with it.
I had simply missed spending time prolonged periods with them. Yup, that was the only reason.
