Once Mikail was back home, he went to his room as soon as possible to check out the situation of his new Nidoran.
'Analyzing...., Nidoran analyzed.
Start improving potential...., potential successfully improved.
Start optimizing genes..., genetic optimization failed.
Unlocking extra abilities...., unlocking extra ability failed.
Unlocking talents...., unlocking talents failed.
Detected existing talent, attempting to improve talent...., improving talent failed.
Checking energy storage....., energy storage can support activity.
Generating tailored habitat...., habitat successfully generated.
Add habitat to main space....., main space successfully expanded.
Relocate Nidoran to habitat..., relocation successful.
Energy storage at 30%.
Process finished.'
That was the first notification he saw.
The notification for the other twin was identical to this one except for the habitat part, there his space simply added the twin to the existing habitat.
'Analyzing...., Nidoran analyzed.
Start improving potential...., potential successfully improved.
Start optimizing genes..., genetic optimization failed.
Unlocking extra abilities...., unlocking extra ability failed.
Unlocking talents...., unlocking talents failed.
Detecting suitable habitat...., Nidoran successfully relocated.'
The parents only had no talent to improve and seeing that his space did not unlock a second ability for them he could conclude that they did not reach light green potential.
The twins on the other hand had their potential improved to deep green, which was, in his humble opinion, great.
He also checked out their new habitat and it was a bit different compared to Natu's and Mothra's areas, those two were purely forest areas.
The Nidoran habitat had a small hill in the center with grass as well as shrubs on it and surrounding the hill were trees, just that the foliage was not as dense as that of a forest.
The whole area was 1600 sqm big and was located to the right of the Magikarp pond.
Mikail was happy seeing his space grow.
After he was done with checking out the Nidoran, he used his control over his space to address them.
They had been looking around the new place they had found themselves in.
He noted that they stayed together instead of splitting up, probably because they were not sure if anything dangerous was around.
"Hi."
The Nidoran kept looking around as soon as they heard his voice trying to locate him but failed.
*chuckle*
"You won't find me.
You are currently inside my space.
This is a place that only I and those I permit can enter, so you don't have to look out for danger because there is none.
Also because this is my space, I can speak to you without having to enter myself."
Mikail saw the parent Nidoran slightly relaxing when he said that, but it seemed to him they would have to make sure of that themselves before they really relaxed and he could understand that.
The chibi Nidoran on the other hand were completely relaxed and were curiously looking around the place without an ounce of tension.
He continued with the introduction.
"This area is yours and it is tailor-made for your species.
To the west of your area is a pond with Magikarp and further left is a forest area that belongs to Natu and Mothra as well as another Caterpie.
You can drink from the pond anytime you want but you are not allowed to attack the other Pokemon inside my space and they too won't attack you.
As far as food is concerned, I will deliver you berries to eat."
He saw how the Nidoran nodded at his request to not attack the others but they looked uneasy when he said he would deliver them their food.
"There are also apricorn trees to the south of your area that you can eat if you get hungry, but I would prefer it if you didn't because I have another use for them."
While saying that Mikail decided to simply plant 3 oran berry trees and a leppa berry tree in their area.
"Wait a minute, I decide to plant a few berry trees in your area so if you get hungry you can simply eat the berries that grow on them.
The first batch should be ready in 3-4 days, so I will still give you berries until then."
He saw the happy reaction of the parents at that and had to chuckle.
Mikail did as he said and planted the berry seeds.
It was always interesting to see the seeds of berries and apricorns grow into full trees in a matter of days instead of the months or years it took normal trees to complete that growth.
After that, he gave them a batch of berries and said goodbye before he stopped focusing on his space.
The evening of that same day just as he was going to start his writing exercises, his parents stopped him.
When he gave his parents a confused look, his mother started speaking.
"Honey we are going to pause your writing exercise for a while.
We think that you have done a really good job learning to write the alphabet and all these words.
Your progress is superb and we believe it is time to start your math lessons."
Hearing his mother's explanation Mikail nodded and after they saw his father continued where his mother had stopped.
"We will show you the numbers 1 to 100 and you will learn how to write them legibly.
After that, we will start teaching you addition and subtraction within that scope.
Once we believe you to be ready, we will add reading to your lessons.
You will start reading your storybooks to us and we will correct you if you make mistakes.
After that, we will resume your writing lessons, where we will read something to you and you will have to write it down.
We will then check what you have written for spelling mistakes.
So later on your lessons will consist of reading, writing, and math, but that's for later.
Right now we will start with math."
His father looked at him seemingly waiting for him to show his understanding, so he did just that.
"Okay, daddy."
Mikail accepted his parent's plan while musing to himself.
'My parents are practically planning to make me learn the stuff they used to teach kids during the first two years at elementary school in my previous life and my parents don't look like they will stop at that.
In that case, what am I going to do when it's time for me to go to elementary school?
Am I going to twiddle my thumbs or what?
Hmm, I will probably have to wait to find out.
During my talks with Rose, I have found out that the starting age for school in Kanto is 5 at the soonest and 6 at the latest.
I will ask my parents about it when I become 4.
Who knows I will probably have "learned" everything they teach at elementary school until then.
Maybe they will exempt me from elementary school.
That would be awesome.
Anyway, that's for later.'
His mother was the one that continued this time.
"Today we will teach you the number 1 to 10."
She took out a piece of paper that had the numbers written on it.
"While you already know what most of these numbers mean, I will still give you an example for them and I will show you which number is assigned to which symbol on this sheet."
She said while pointing at the numbers on the paper.
He nodded at that, because it made sense.
While they used numbers during their talks and he "knew" for example that one meant a single piece of something, he shouldn't know which one of the numbers stood for one.
So their plan was reasonable.
She pointed at 1 on the sheet and started to speak again.
"This is one, and we use it to when talking about only a single piece of something."
She took a single pen and said that she had one pen in her hand.
After that, she pointed to the next number and repeated that for all 10 numbers.
She would point out which symbol represented the number, then she would use the number in a sentence and show it with the corresponding number of pencils.
After she did that 2 times she paused and Mikail's father continued.
He was sure his parents had decided to jointly teach him so that they could all spend the time together, which was why they kept alternating who was in charge of teaching.
"Now that your mother has told you the numbers and showed what they look like I will show you how to write them.
After that, you will have to write them yourself."
His father showed him how to write the numbers and Mikail repeated what he did.
This way his normal writing lessons were substituted by math lessons, but the rest of his schedule stayed the same.
Two weeks later during his ballcrafting session, he succeeded in making his first Common Ball.
'Name: Common Ball
Type: None
Class: E
Faults: None
Uses: Common Balls can be used to catch wild Pokemon.
The Common Ball has the same probability of catching any Pokemon as the standard Pokeball, but if it is used against Normal-types the probability doubles.'
By the time he went through the whole batch of apricorns that he had prepared for the ballcrafting session, he had made two successful Common Balls.
It kind of resembled the Premier Ball, because of the glaze the ball was completely white.
The main difference was that the Common Ball did not have a metallic sheen, because it was made out of wood (apricorn) and it also did not have the red line in the center that the Premier Ball had.
Mikail immediately used his balls on Magidraco and Magiflora.
The reason he did that was to use the artificial bond the balls established to check their full status until they created a genuine bond.
It took longer to bond with the two Magikarp because he did not spend as much time with them as he did with his other Pokemon and they also saw what happened to the other specimen, which also slowed down the bonding process.
He did not want to wait that long and now thanks to the Common Balls he did not have to.
He had already decided to use his next successful balls on the Nidoran pair.
After he made that decision, he checked out Magidraco's status.
'Name: Magidraco
Species: Magikarp
Gender: Female
Age: 1 Year 2 Months
Type: Water
Potential: Light Green (0.3%)
Genetic variation: None
Abilities: Swift Swim, Rattled
Talents: None
Affinities: Water, Dragon (weak)
Bond: Mikail (artificial, weak)
Quirks: None
Parameters:
Stage: Iron Stage (low)
Vitality: I
Strength: I
Endurance: G
Agility: F
Energy Capacity: I
Energy Density: I
Resistance: Fire (Minor), Water (Minor), Ice (Minor), Steel (Minor)
Weaknesses: Electric (Minor), Grass (Minor)
Condition: Healthy
Masteries: None
Techniques: Tackle (Novice), Splash (Novice)'
He looked over her status and noted a few things.
'First of all, it looks like my unofficial nickname has been registered as her name.
I really hope this is not permanent, because I don't plan to call her that in the future and I don't think she will like it after she evolves and gains sapience.
Let's see.'
Mikail checks if changing the name is possible.
'Yep, can be changed.
That's good, but let's leave it for now.
I'll change it when I decide on a name for her.
What else?
Her type is only water, but I knew that because I could already see that before this.
Her affinities are what's important.
In addition to water, she also has a dragon affinity, that is categorized as weak.
On a side note, I currently know of 3 affinity categories.
Budding, weak, and the standard one.
Budding means the Pokemon has gained the affinity but it's quite weak.
Weak, simply means the affinity has not reached the standard one yet.
The standard affinity is automatically gained for the type one has.
If one manages to increase an affinity to the standard category without gaining the corresponding typing, then that means their affinity is as good as someone that has a typing for said affinity.
The next interesting point would be the bond.
The bond is identified as artificial and categorized as weak.
The rest is as I expected it to be.
I knew her parameters besides Endurance and Agility would be bad, even if I have to say that her Agility being 'F' surprised me a bit.
I also expected her to only know Tackle and Splash, but I plan to change that in the future.'
After he had looked through Magidraco's status he checked out Magiflora's status as well.
'Name: Magiflora
Species: Magikarp
Gender: Female
Age: 1 Year 11 Months
Type: Water
Potential: Light Green (0.2%)
Genetic variation: None
Abilities: Swift Swim, Rattled
Talents: None
Affinities: Water, Grass (budding)
Bond: Mikail (artificial, weak)
Quirks: None
Parameters:
Stage: Iron Stage (low)
Vitality: I
Strength: I
Endurance: G
Agility: F
Energy Capacity: I
Energy Density: I
Resistance: Fire (Minor), Water (Minor), Ice (Minor), Steel (Minor)
Weaknesses: Electric (Minor), Grass (Minor)
Condition: Healthy
Masteries: None
Techniques: Tackle (Novice), Splash (Novice)'
He looked through it once before he compared it to Magidraco's status.
'Except for Name, Age, Potential, and Affinities, the rest is the same. Well, the name does not need to be explained and her age simply shows that she is 9 months older than Magidraco. As far as her potential is concerned, she is 0.1% behind Magidraco.
Now her affinities on the other hand are actually an important part. She has the standard water affinity all Magikarp have but she has the Grass/Flora affinity instead of the dragon affinity Magidraco has. Also compared to Magidraco's (weak) dragon affinity, Magiflora's grass affinity is shown as budding.
The reason for that is probably that she gained hers later on. After her grass-energy induced fever to be exact. The fact that her affinity is currently weaker compared to Magidraco's natural one is normal. It will probably get stronger if I continue with feeding her grass-type supplements.'
Finished with comparing the status of the two, Mikail leaves his space and goes downstairs to spend the rest of the day with his parents.
