After a final visit to the guide Grumpig's place to deliver the final Payapa Berry tree our business with each other officially concluded. It ended up being a very beneficial exchange for me since I captured 176 Spinda and 70 Spoink in the process, 72 Spoink if we included the 2 I caught at the very beginning. Anyway, at this point, it was already past 8 p.m., so I was in a bit of a dilemma since I had to decide if I should just call it a day and move us to Utopia for dinner, or if I should visit at least one of the groups that Horus/Xatu, Hera/Pidgeot, Moka/Crobat, and Shino/Yanmega had found.
I seriously doubted that I could visit all of them without pushing dinner way past our usual time, but I could maybe squeeze in one visit. It was when I began to consider the question of which one of them I would choose if I decided to do a quick visit that I decided against doing it. No matter which one I chose, the others would have to be left to tomorrow so instead of creating a situation that could appear like I was favoring one over the other I decided to just leave all of it for tomorrow.
As for the possibility that the Pokemon would have moved on to another place by that time; Well, those that were on the road would have probably left by now anyway since more than an hour had passed, and those that stuck around would most likely still be around tomorrow. With that conclusion, I told the others that we were moving to Utopia for dinner, and once the transfer was complete, I told the flyers that we would take a look at their findings tomorrow right after breakfast. They just rolled their eyes and Horus let out that they had already expected as much when I delayed their business in favor of following that pig merchant.
I just laughed a bit awkwardly at that which had the others chuckle/giggle, which evolved into full-blown laughter when I diverted the topic to dinner preparations, showing that they saw right through the topic change. Still, I steadfastly ignored that and began to take out everything we needed for dinner, which had them calm down and focus on something much more important than laughing, namely food. The others joined us as well, and eventually, everything was ready so I handed everyone their dinner before finally signaling that they could dig in.
During dinner, the ones that went out shared what they/we had been up to, with the dance battle being the highlight. When the others heard that they missed something like that they felt quite regretful, and many of them whined, asking why I had not streamed at least the dance-off. It was a legitimate question, and all I could say was that I had honestly forgotten about it, though I was quick to point out that the others, who were present as well, did not remind me to do so; You know, to share the blame a bit.
Horus sighed when the others actually gave them accusing looks and told me to stop teasing the others and just project either my or his memory of the whole thing into the sky for the others to see. It was funny to see the "O, right we can do that" reactions the majority had when Horus said that, and I had to chuckle when Horus just sighed again after seeing that most had truly forgotten about my ability to do so. Tatsumaki/Alakazam pat him on the shoulder in solace but I could feel her amusement, though the same was true for Horus as well despite his outward reaction/words.
Anyway, I fulfilled everyone's wish and projected the meeting with the special Spinda sleuth. There was quite a bit of laughter and clapping during the short "movie", and we not only watched my memory of the whole thing but also went through Horus' memory of the dance-off due to the insistence of everyone since mine was from the 1st person perspective and the others wanted to see the dance battle from the 3rd person perspective as well. Once the second memory ran its course Thor/Raichu wondered out loud how the Spinda were doing right now, which had everyone look over to me, showing that they were curious as well.
Seeing them like that I helplessly had my second thought stream, who was monitoring Utopia, focus on the Spinda. Funnily enough, from what I could see, it seemed that the former dance king and his sleuth had established themselves as the leaders of the Spinda, but I was pretty sure that that had to be because the others were too chill to bother arguing with them for the position since I knew for a fact that more than one of the Spinda in the other sleuths I captured were stronger than the ex-dance king and his background dancers.
When I shared that with the others they laughed and Nyx/Umbreon proposed a late-night visit to officially welcome the other Spinda to Utopia. She also added that she wanted to make sure that the newcomers knew not to mess with the Spinda Quartet since they were just as chill as the others and probably wouldn't bother resisting any suppression from the newbies as long as it was nothing too big, which was unacceptable since they were her friends. That had nearly everyone else nod since pretty much everyone except for the newer guys had struck up a friendship of some kind with the four happy-go-lucky teddy bears.
While some like Shino had more of a shallow kind of friendship with them, others like Nyx, Vendrak/Eggy, or Po/Pangoro were buddies with them. Seeing how everyone was for it, I saw no reason to decline, so I passed the location to Horus, Mothra/Butterfree, Tatsumaki, as well as Gwen/Gardevoir and we cooperated to Teleport all of us there. The Spinda perked up at our arrival and they greeted us happily offering us some of the berries from the trees I planted after Utopia expanded the Quartet's place to accommodate all the new arrivals.
Anyway, the Quartet in question happily stepped forward and began to mingle with us, earning the interest and respect of the new Spinda, showing them that the Quartet had connections straight to the top. Honestly, hanging out with a whole bunch of Spinda was pretty amusing, but after half an hour I could not help but think about the other batch of new arrivals. I sent Horus and Gwen to invite/bring them over since I felt that leaving them out like this was not nice, especially since I made them neighbors to the Spinda, which meant that they had likely noticed the commotion our arrival had caused.
I knew I made the right decision when I saw/felt how happy the Spoink were to be included after my duo brought them over. We spent roughly two more hours hanging out with the Spinda and the Spoink before I decided to call it a day or night since it was close to midnight. Before we left, I had Horus and Gwen bring the Spoink back to their place, but I reminded them that they could lie down to sleep first since the ground of their habitat was specially set by Utopia to vibrate so that it could replace the bouncing as they slept.
Spoink usually kept bouncing as they slept since their body's flaw did not simply go away while they slept. Consequently, they were never able to truly relax physically or psychically since their body kept working while they slept due to the influence of their psychic power. The vibration of the ground in their habitat compensated for the lack of jumping as long as their body was lying on the ground. I or rather my second thought stream, had told them as much when I released them into Utopia, but I chose to remind them just in case they somehow forgot the convenient and possibly life-changing feature of their new home/habitat.
That quite a few of them perked up at that and gave off a feeling of anticipation told me that they at least those few had in fact forgotten it, which had me smile. Regardless, after sending the Spinda off, I, together with the others capable of teleporting, sent everyone to their own habitats before I went to my room to sleep as well. The next morning, after leaving Utopia, I followed up on my word from yesterday and asked Horus, Hera, Moka, as well as Shino to lead us to the places where they had spotted either Spinda or Spoink while they were scouting.
Since they could fly, the four had covered a lot of space, so we ended up flying to nearly all the spots since walking as I usually did would have taken way too long. I could have run there while the flyers flew above me, but I chose to ride the one leading the way each time since I knew that they enjoyed that more than the alternative. Well, except for Horus, who told me that there was no way that he would carry me on his back and simply dragged me along using telekinesis. I could have flown myself, but he insisted on doing it that way, and I could feel his amusement so I chose to let him have his fun by going along with it.
Ultimately, some of the spots we visited were empty with no Spinda or Spoink in sight, but most of them still had the Pokemon our pals had spotted. By lunch, we had visited all the places and I ended up capturing a total of 60 Spoink with most of them having deep orange potential while the best one actually had light blue potential. The number of Spinda was higher, but that was because I went with the same approach as yesterday, so that was not surprising. They had teddy bear privileges after all.
Regardless, I caught a total of 193 Spinda, with the worst having red potential before Utopias upgrade while the best one had green potential. Thankfully, Utopia's boost helped raise the minimum potential to light orange, which while still pretty bad was better than the worst I had feared before I captured the Spinda, that being deep red. Anyway, while we ate lunch I decided that 132 Spoink and 373 Spinda were more than enough so I chose to stop looking for more and simply follow the route heading for Fallabor City while keeping an eye on strictly the Pokemon on the road.
If we came across anything interesting like Ponyta, Skarmory, Numel, or something unexpected but of interest I would check them; Otherwise, I would simply continue walking. This way I would still be able to make it to Fallabor City on time without having to rush things towards the end. I shared the news with the others after we had eaten, and moved Horus, Moka, as well as Shino back to Utopia while Hera chose to stay out to enjoy a bit of unrestricted flight. I knew that she would have no problem finding us and that she would be able to battle against or escape from nearly anything she could encounter unless she ended up having abyssal luck, so I let her fly to her heart's content while we traveled along the route.
Everything was calm and rather uneventful on our side, but apparently the same was not true for Hera since she actually came back roughly two hours after she left with an unconscious Skarmory gripped in her talons. She threw it to my right before she landed in front of me. Hera then nuzzled me and I stroked her head/crest, which had her chirp contently. Still, after half a minute or so I could not help my curiosity and asked her what was up with the Skarmory.
Hera was rather blase about it and said that it attacked her on her way back. She beat it up, and as it was pummeling downward she remembered that I seemed interested in the metal birdies so she chose to catch it and to bring it along so that I could check to see if I would like to add it to Utopia or not.
