Most of my friends left after dinner that night, but my parents, Jessie, Weiss, and Rose along with the Kenji pair chose to stay for another day, so I continued touring Fortree City with them on Giratiday as well. My parents and the Kenji couple chose to leave after dinner, but the girls decided to stay for yet another day, so I ended up spending Palkiday alone with Jessie, Weiss, and Rose. The other girls called them sneaky for staying so long just to be alone with me, and Yoruichi complained that she would have stayed as well if she didn't have to get back to work. She then teasingly added that she must offset this huge injustice once she managed to get a day off and spent a day with me on her own, which elicited protests from the other girls citing that she couldn't stay with me without another one of them present.
I honestly did not know how to feel about their discussion and Yu along with Ace teasing me did not make things less awkward for me. The trio beside me just laughed while reading the chat messages, and they threw me teasing looks as well, which I chose to just ignore. Acting like a dense protagonist was the best option here. I decided to do the same for the whole chat and thus acted as if I never saw that discussion during the rest of the day. The girls finally left that evening, and once I had sent them off, I directly entered Utopia to just relax for the rest of the night.
Dialday morning saw me finally leave Fortree City, though it was closer to noon since I only left Utopia, and hence the city, after supervising everyone's morning training. I had once again checked out Thor/Raichu's status sheet while overseeing his training with the hope that the post-Gym Battle training would allow him to complete his limit-breaking phase, just like I had done during the last two days, but that hope once again ended up unfulfilled. Still, I knew that he was at the cusp of the completion, so I simply said 'Definitely, the next time' to myself before moving on.
Anyway, the next stop of my journey was roughly a week away at my usual travel speed, and as usual, I spent the time checking out the scenery, wild Pokemon included, while battling the occasional wild Pokemon and traveling trainer. Dialday passed like that as did Kyoday as well as Grouday, and I ended up welcoming Arcday without anything noteworthy happening. Arcday happened to be the final day of the month, which made this week one of the 1-day calendar weeks, so the next morning Mewday signaled the start of the new/22nd month of 2185, and I was not sure if it was because of that, but as luck would have it, my "long" awaited desire got granted that very morning.
Thor's status sheet showed that his last parameter had risen to SSS as well, which meant that his limit-breaking phase was finally complete. Thor was naturally incredibly elated by the news since he had apparently missed the feeling while he was working on his muscles, figuratively speaking. The others who were training not far from us quickly came over and congratulated Thor while I made the announcement over UtopiaFM before heading to Thor's place with everyone present. We waited for roughly 10 minutes before I gave the order to form the circle while Fortuna/Togekiss and I wished Thor good luck. Once we had hugged Thor, we joined the others, and I gave Thor the go-ahead.
A bit of extra energy got drawn to Thor during the breakthrough, but that was the norm for those whose potential rose to the illustrious aurora realm; The same was true for the process taking a bit longer than usual, so I was unable to guess if he had unlocked something or if that simply happened because his potential rose to the next grade. Either way, I saw no visual difference as I stepped closer after the breakthrough was over and Thor's (mid) dark gold undulations started to spread.
I congratulated Thor on reaching the dark gold stage and he laughed happily, his tail swishing behind him. The others, with Mothra/Butterfree in the lead, came over and congratulated Thor as well. I went ahead and took a look at his status sheet while they did that.

The confirmation that he had indeed attained light aurora potential was gratifying, and the percentage told me that he had not unlocked a modifier after all since I saw no reduction that would have otherwise taken place. A quick glance to the next section confirmed that, so I swiftly moved on to the ability section to take a look at the third ability that I knew got unlocked due to his now light aurora potential, and when I saw it, I had to admit that the new ability was a near perfect fit for Thor.

Electric Surge was practically Electric Terrain as a Pokemon ability that a Pokemon was able to trigger instinctually. It was pretty much a passive with an on-and-off switch that the Pokemon could trigger almost instantly with nearly no energy expense, and unlike Electric Terrain which had to be reapplied after a certain period, the field generated by Electric Surge could be kept up/going for as long as the ability holder wanted. The reason I called Electric Surge a near-perfect fit for Thor was that his Current Rider talent worked with the electric field generated by Electric Surge, so Thor's speed effectively doubled upon stepping onto the field without him having to do anything extra, allowing him to go with another opening move instead of using Electric Terrain.
Speaking of talents, there was no difference in that section, but the affinity section did show a change.

Thor's psychic affinity got upgraded to a full-fledged one, granting him the boons without having the typing, so Thor's psychic moves would now benefit from a STAB bonus even without Thor having the psychic typing. He would also have an easier time learning and improving psychic moves, which was definitely welcome. The next parts held no surprises even though changes took place. I had felt our bond deepen, and everyone had felt the undulations released by Thor before he got a grip on them.

Since his goal had been finally achieved, Thor was very happy, so once I finished listing the changes he had undergone, he asked that we postpone his celebration until after dinner. Thor had spent the last few days inside Utopia to train some more instead of accompanying me on the road, and he wanted to go out now that he had reached his goal. I saw no reason to deny his request, so after informing everyone present that the celebration of Thor's successful breakthrough would be held after dinner, I left Utopia together with Thor, Mothra, Hades/Gengar, and Nyx/Umbreon.
We continued heading towards Oplain City, when roughly 45 minutes into our walk a very loud thunder suddenly resounded throughout a clear sky. Our attention was drawn to it, and all of us looked up to see what the hell was going on. When a second thunder sound came with no clouds in sight Nyx could not help but ask how that could be, and we all heard a voice say that it served as a good distraction. Everyone immediately turned to the voice that came right beside us without us noticing the source reaching this close to us.
To all of our shock, freaking Tapu Koko was levitating right beside Thor, looking at us in amusement. We all involuntary tensed up and Tapu Koko just waved us off with a laugh; Tapu Koko told us to relax, it frankly said that it could have dealt with us if it wanted to while we were distracted by the thunder that it cast into the sky as a distraction. That was true and it worked since most of my Pokemon relaxed at the realization.
Tapu Koko confirmed what Volcanion had told us, namely that some of the deities kept an eye on our group, occasionally checking in on us, though it did reiterate that none planned/dared to interfere with us unless it was to bestow a blessing and exchange a few words. Tapu Koko mentioned that it and its fellow Taku also tuned in now and then and that Thor in particular had particularly drawn their attention when he had partially unlocked his ancestral bloodline, which was connected to them since the initial variation of Alolan Raichu was related to them. Apparently, they had spent a few years in that place a few ten thousand years ago, which had left its mark in the area.
That was the reason for the high number of Alpha Pokemon and type variations in that particular region/archipelago. Hearing the confirmation of what had been speculated in the science scene was pretty cool. Regardless, when Tapu Koko said that the legends had noticed the high number of aurora potential Pokemon with more of them appearing as time passed I did not feel alarmed since I had expected as much ever since Volcanion showed up and revealed that the legends treated us as Free TV. I pushed that thought aside as Topu Koko revealed that it showed up because Fini had decided to tune in again and had noticed that Thor had not only joined the aurora group but also unlocked the full extent of its alolan bloodline, which definitely referred to Thor gaining a full-fledged psychic affinity.
Fini had then alerted the rest of their Tapu group and Koko as the electric one among them came to greet us. Tapu Koko also added that it was going to give Thor its personal blessing along with a collective boon from the Tapu Quartet using power the other three had entrusted to Koko. Once Koko said that it pointed at Thor without waiting for any input from us and Thor began to shine bright for a few seconds before he returned to normal. Tapu Koko gave a satisfied nod, while Thor curiously checked his body to see if anything had changed since he, in his own words, could feel that something was different. Personally, I was unable to see any external change, but Koko, after watching Thor fumble around for a bit with an amused smile told Thor to focus on his psychic energy and suffuse his whole body in it.
Thor followed Tapu Koko's instruction and a few moments later he began to light up in a pink and yellow light that obscured him from everyone's view. The light died down within just a few seconds and I heard quite a few gasps. I was quite surprised as well, though I had to admit that I had gotten an inkling as to what was going to happen, but even then, seeing Thor having turned into an Alolan Raichu was still surprising. Tapu Koko laughed at everyone's reaction and Thor's disbelieving look. We watched as Thor checked out his different look before focusing on his now rounder tail. He tried to use it as a surfboard like Alolan Raichu tended to do before turning to Tapu Koko and asking if he was stuck as a Psychic/Alolan Raichu now.
I had to admit that Thor was quite brave to ask Koko that question in such a blunt manner, but Koko just laughed before shaking its head. It explained that a boon from all four of them wouldn't be limited to just this. Tapu Koko instructed Thor to do the opposite of what he did earlier, namely to gather his psychic energy towards his head while suffusing his whole body with his electric energy. Thor followed suit and he then shone in a yellow light for a few seconds. Once he became visible again he was back in his regular Raichu body. He seemed quite relieved/happy with that, and Tapu said that he could switch between both forms any time he wanted. It added that the switch would happen faster once Thor had become used to doing the switch.
