One thing was clear, Shadinja's high RV/BS as well as (potential) abilities not only presented a new and very strong/valuable addition to any bug specialists' team, I was talking ace Pokemon level valuable here, but also to that of ghost specialists as well. Speaking of bug specialists, I was naturally going to get a Shadinja for Kinji, and it obviously would have to be a high-potential one. I was talking about having at least blue potential before Utopia's treatment.
Well, I at least hoped that there was one like that among the Shadinja on the other side. As long as there was at least one, I would give it to my bro Kinji, even if I had to take a slightly worse one for myself. Worst case, I would wait until a better one was born/evolved before adding it to either the main team or the reserve team.
I was not worried about the Nincada not being able to evolve to Shadinja once I placed them inside Utopia since Utopia was going to create the perfect habitat/environment for Shadinja, so their new living space would only be more perfect/appropriate for them, and not worse. I planned to fuse the Nincada and Shadinja habitats into one to ensure that their new habitat was perfect for the whole line. Well, excluding Ninjask since I only cared about Shadinja.
On top of that, I was also going to transfer some of all the plants present in their chamber to their new habitats just in case one of them was a factor in their evolution. This naturally included the Phantom Nettle Phantump collected earlier, though I was guessing that they had some of those in their chamber as well.
Anyway, I focused back on the Shadinja in front of me. Since she had deep yellow potential, her potential would rise to either light green or green once she entered Utopia. That was good enough for me to capture her since I was planning to transfer part of the tribe into my benevolent care/custody regardless. Still, I decided to speak frankly with her. I candidly told her about my plan regarding herself and her tribe behind the wall. Shadinja's first reaction was to start struggling again, but that ceased and gave way to sad resignation when Mothra/Butterfree briefly flashed her true prowess.
Her reaction was very telling, and told me that her tribe likely had nothing, or rather no one that could stop someone with Mothra's power. Hence, her sad resignation. Nonetheless, not one to enjoy seeing negative emotions if possible, I went ahead and showed Shadinja why joining me was actually the best thing that could happen to her tribe, at least to the lucky ones who would be allowed to join Utopia.
To that end, I simply moved all of us, Shadinja included, to Utopia. As soon as we appeared there, Utopia analyzed Shadinja and worked on her before generating the optimal habitat for her. I made sure to place the habitat beside Phantump's place to ensure that they could feel at home even if they left their own habitat to stretch their wings or feet in Nincada's case, seeing how the habitat Utopia created for them was a different kind of haunted forest. Unlike Phantump's haunted forest, the Shadinja one had small mounds with little caves as well as little burrows for the Nincada.
As for Shadinja, her potential got raised to green, though she did not unlock any talents or modifiers, but that was fine since I was only planning to have her act as our key to poaching more Shadinja and Nincada. Once she had done her job she would be able to freely and comfortably live in the haunted forest and eventually help increase the population. Two things that all bug types aspired to do, and I did not believe that the addition of the ghost typing would change that.
I brought Shadinja to the freshly generated habitat and as I had expected she was captivated by the environment. Well, I would be as well if my home had been a cavern before this, but Shadinja flitted through the trees for a few minutes before flying back. I used the chance to show her a bunch of Phantom Nettles, Ghost Lilies, and other plants I felt would be appetizing to Shadinja and Nincada. When she heard that I was going to plant them all inside "their" forest, she buzzed with happiness showing nothing of her earlier resignation.
When I mentioned my plan to have her help me persuade her fellows into joining Utopia, she readily agreed. Forget her earlier sad resignation, she was currently eager to go out and talk to her friends and family to bring them over here. It was only after securing her cooperation that I remembered that she should have now unlocked her second ability since Utopia had raised her potential to green/4-stars, so I did a quick recheck to see which ability she had unlocked.
When I saw that she had indeed gained Wonder Guard as her second ability I could not help but laugh cheerfully. This confirmed that Shadinja's place was in the top group across all Pokemon species, and it increased my determination to add them to Utopia. I told Shadinja that I was going to capture her now, which she accepted without a fuss, and after balling her with a regular PokeBall, I let her out again before I moved us back to the outside.
We reappeared in front of the wall separating the tunnel from the secret Shadinja chamber, and I had Hades/Gengar, Phantump, and Shadinja move to the other side. I waited a minute to give Shadinja time to inform her fellows about our imminent arrival while Hades and Phantump kept an eye on them and served as my teleportation beacon. Since Phantump did not rush out that meant there were no problems, so I calmly waited. Only once the minute was up did I teleport to Hades' side.
I saw a bunch of Shadinja waiting for us beside Hades, Phantump, and our female Shadinja. Shadinja (OF) introduced them as the elders of their tribe. They requested to be shown the blessed space that Shadinja (OF) mentioned and promised to lead the whole tribe there if it was true. Honestly, their request, or rather the offer they gave in return, took me off guard. Here I was hoping that I would be able to persuade a fourth or third of the tribe to join me, but they were directly offering themselves up in a wholesale manner.
I naturally agreed to their request and promptly moved us to Utopia before showing them the Shadinja habitat that got expanded to more than double its size since most of the tribe leaders/elders were at the gold stage with only two being at the silver stage. It was unfortunate that none of them were at the dark gold stage since the size increase would have been even more impressive if that had been the case. Nonetheless, witnessing the current increase was more than enough to impress the Shadinja, which only improved further once the expansion stopped and they began checking out the haunted forest Utopia generated.
The Shadinja spread out, thoroughly checking out the forest before regathering and huddling together for a discussion. I let them do whatever they wanted and simply waited together with Mothra and co for them to finish, supremely confident that they would join me. I could feel their excitement and joy after all.
As I expected they conveyed their intent to migrate over to Utopia once they were done with their discussion and I happily welcomed them with open arms. Still, before we left to bring the rest of the tribe over, I made sure that they knew about my plan to add a Shadinja to my team and that I would be passing one or two Shadinja to other reliable trainers.
They had no problem with the first part but showed some resistance to the second one until I promised them to only choose trainers I could explicitly trust to treat the Shadinja right. I also mentioned that the trainer would help the Shadinja become stronger, but they seemed to focus more on the recipient being reliable than his ability as a trainer. I described Kinji to them and they agreed that he would be a suitable trainer.
Anyway, after clearing that up I shifted us to the outside again, and while the elders/Shadinja spread out to organize the Nincada and Shadinja for the move/migration, I began to explore the room/chamber to see if there was anything I could/should transfer over to Utopia. As expected, I found more Phantom Nettles, which I directly transferred over, along with some more plants and some moss that Shadinja (OF), who has stayed with us to give us the tour, pointed out was being used as food by either Shadinja, Nincada, or both.
We finished touring the chamber before the elders managed to gather everyone and everything they wanted to transfer to Utopia. Two of the elders seeing us just waiting for them to organize everything approached me and asked me to accompany them. They led me to an area that apparently served as the nursery area.
I counted 19 eggs, and the elders requested that I transfer one of them together with the eggs in advance. I saw no problem with that and did just that, though I told him that the forest already had a nesting area and that I would move them over there. I saw no reason to tell him that Utopia would generate said nesting area only once the eggs entered Utopia.
The elder that was left behind extended an apology. He explained that things were taking so long because everyone wanted to take some of their "precious" belongings with them. Additionally, some of the Shadinja had gone out and they had to send others to search for them. I told him that I did not mind waiting and he thanked me for showing understanding before joining his fellows again.
I decided to use the time until they were done to check out the Shadinja that were already present. It took another 20 minutes after that for the Shadinja to declare that they were ready. Before doing anything else, I went ahead and checked the final two Shadinja whose return caused that declaration. They were only average, but that was fine since I had already found two that were good enough for my plans, and as I had decided beforehand, I was going to give the better one to Kinji.
'Species: Shadinja
Gender: Female
Type: Bug, Ghost
Potential: Deep Blue
Stage: Silver-Stage (Mid)
(Genetic) Modifiers: None
Abilities: Speed Boost, Wonder Guard
Talents: None
Affinities: Bug, Ghost'
Once she entered Utopia and underwent the optimization process, her potential would increase to at least light purple. As for the Shadinja I selected for myself, he had a chance to attain light purple potential as well, though his light purple was not guaranteed since his initial potential was only blue.
'Species: Shadinja
Gender: Male
Type: Bug, Ghost
Potential: Blue
Stage: Silver-Stage (High)
(Genetic) Modifiers: None
Abilities: Speed Boost, Wonder Guard
Talents: None
Affinities: Bug, Ghost'
The two were the only Shadinja with blue or deep blue potential that were at either the silver or bronze stage. Funnily enough, after talking with both, I found out that they were related. The male I chose for myself was the father of the female I chose for Kinji. After discovering that I naturally had to ask them for their opinion on my plan to separate them by handing her to Kinji. They agreed after I told them why I wanted to give her to Kinji. Kinji being a nice guy and a bug-type specialist with platinum-stage bug types was apparently good enough for them to agree.
Anyway, after telling the Shadinja as well as Nincada to take a final look at their old home I gave them a few seconds to do so before transferring all of them to Utopia.
