Chapter 690 - CH70 (684), Searching For The One (4)

'Alright, if your plan had been to lure the Larvitar over so that we don't have to search for them yourself, you succeeded,' Mr.Mime said as we were flipping the meat. 'I just hope you have enough for everyone since new Larvitar along with the occasional Tyranitar are still arriving even now. If this continues we might end up with all Larvitar in this area waiting for something to eat from us,' he continued and I could feel some genuine worry when he mentioned all Larvitar.

"Don't worry," I said while flipping some meat. "I have quite a few really big Pokemon, so I have enough meat stored away to feed thousands of Pokemon if I have to," I added and I felt him relax a bit at that. 'I certainly hope that's true, or we'll have some disappointed Larvitar at our hands and more than a few irate Tyranitar,' Mr.Mime sounded quite worried at the last bit which was understandable since I was counting 9 Tyranitar right now, and the number was likely to grow.

"I'm sure everyone will get to have their fill," I assured him, which had Mr.Mime shrug. 'Let's hope for the best. Worst case, I grab you and we get the hell out of there,' Mr.Mime said coolly, showing nothing of his earlier concern. 'You'll lose your grills and other stuff if it comes to that though,' he added as an afterthought. "Don't mind the small stuff," I waved that off. "Besides, I'm sure it won't come to that," I said before flipping the last piece of meat and closing the lid of the third grill as well.

"Alright, the first round of meat is nearly done, and we can start handing out the food in around 5 minutes. How's it looking on your side with the grilled berries," I inquired hoping to finish the salad before the meat was done cooking. 'I'm just about done, so we can start mixing everything,' Mr.Mime returned just what I wanted to hear. I swiftly went up to him and helped him dice the last few berries.

Afterward, I pulled out one of my biggest pots. Then, Mr.Mime and I transferred all the diced berries to the pot. I sprinkled olive oil on top along with salt before properly mixing everything. With the salad ready, we had nothing else to do aside from waiting for the meat, so I had Mr.Mime call the Tyranitar over to talk with them or rather to request their help in properly organizing the Larvitar in a moment.

Four of the Tyranitar ambled over to us and asked us what we wanted, so I requested that they separate the Larvitar into 4 lines once we started to hand out the food to prevent any chaos and unnecessary fights. I had to assure them that we did have enough food for everyone and that no one would miss out even if they ended up at the back of the line, but once I gave them my word and punctuated it with my aura to show that I was sincere, they nodded and promised to take care of it before ambling back to their fellow Tyranitar.

As I was watching them head back I suddenly thought of a problem. While Larvitar had arms, their hands were not really suitable for cutlery, so I took out a bunch of Hard Stones and cut them all into thin slices the size of my palm. Meanwhile, the meat was done cooking, so Mr.Mime and I took them all off the grill and placed a second batch of berries there before reclosing the lid.

I then had Mr.Mime follow suit as I cut the meat into smaller portions before placing them on the Hard stone slices I cut. I added some of the grilled berry salad on top and then I placed three of those slices on a wooden plate. This way the Larvitar could simply eat the Hard Stone slices with the meat and salad toppings without having to worry about cutlery.

While Mr.Mime and I were preparing the plates, the Tyranitar had the Larvitar line up, and once we were done plating everything, I called out Gwen/Gardevoir, Luna/Clefable, Freyja/Lopunny, and Gaia/Nidoqueen to help hand out the plates. Their appearance caused all Tyranitar to stare over, and I felt Mr.Mime stiffen for a moment when they did that, but the Tyranitar stopped staring after recognizing that the new arrivals were merely helping with the food handout.

'You really should have informed us, or at least the Tyranitar first before calling out a bunch of Pokemon,' he chided me after the Tyranitar stopped staring and I could hear the admonishment tinted with a bit of nervousness in his mental voice, though as usual, his face was in its resting b*tch state even now. "You're right, I'm sorry," I freely admitted since he was right. It simply slipped my mind since the Tryanitar were pretty agreeable so far.

Anyway, I turned to the girls and told them to man a line each. After setting up a desk behind each one of them, I split the plates between them before I gave them the go-ahead, and they began to hand out a plate to each Larvitar. I saw no need to hand out any drinks for now since the salad had a pretty high water content. Not sure if that was the right word, but it sounded better than moist or watery, so that was what I was going with.

Regardless, by the time the girls had handed out the final plate, the berries were done, so I swapped them out with a second round of meat before asking Mr.Mime to start dicing the grilled berries while I filled the empty tables with wooden cups, which I then filled with OO-Juice. Everyone liked OO-Juice, so it was the best option. After all the cups were filled, I announced that those who wanted something to drink could come and pick a cup or two if one was not enough before returning to Mr.Mime's side to help him with the grilled berries.

While I diced the berries, I watched as the Larvitar enjoyed the food, at least the ones that managed to get a portion, which was roughly half of the 250 or so Larvitar that had gathered until now. Aside from the still-waiting half, the Tyranitar were not eating as well since they were still diligently overseeing everything. Nonetheless, I saw some of the Larvitar that had a plate go up to one of the girls to request a cup of juice before returning to its food/plate.

Interestingly enough, none of the Larvitar still lining up asked for a drink, so I guess they wanted to grab a bite first before filling their belly with juice. It took a total of ten minutes, but the second round of meat was done as well, so I cut them into smaller portions and placed them on the second batch of Hard Stones I had sliced. After adding the salad on top I once again placed 3 such slices on a wooden plate before distributing them to the four tables for handout.

While the girls were handling the handout I observed the overall situation, and I noticed that some of the Larvitar of the first round had lined up once more with their wooden plates in hand. Knowing that the prepared plates would not be enough for them, I began another round of grilling after checking the grill to ensure that the heat/fire would suffice for a third round.

Seeing me do that, the Tyranitar refused to take a plate and let some of the Larvitar that wanted a second plate take their place. Eventually, the third round was done and got handed out along with a fourth round, during which the Tyranitar finally ate as well. In fact, each one of them ate three plates, though I was pretty sure that they could have eaten more if they wanted.

Still, everyone, including the Tyranitar, praised the food I prepared, and upon my request, the Larvitar hung around for a bit longer so that I could take a look at them after cleaning everything up. By now a total of 300 or so Larvitar had gathered in this place, and according to Mr.Mime that had to be about 90% of the Larvitar in this area. Obviously, some of them I had already checked before this, though I had no idea which ones. Thankfully, they told me that by themselves when I came to check up on them. Thanks to my emotion-sensing I knew that they were being truthful, and not simply trying to get rid of me.

Anyway, I saw a few 5-star Larvitar among the ones I checked, though none were as impressive as my current number-one candidates, at least that was the case until I saw the status sheet of the 29th new Larvitar I inspected.

'Species: Larvitar

Gender: Female

Type: Rock, Ground

Potential: Deep Blue

Stage: Iron-stage (High)

(Genetic) Modifiers: None

Abilities: Guts, Sand Veil

Talents: Earth Eater

Affinities: Rock, Ground'

It was another eater, though this time it was an Earth Eater instead of a Mountain Eater. This was once again an ability/talent I had not heard about before this, well aside from the Mountain Eater, and interestingly enough it not only had a similar name to Mountain Eater, but it also had the same effect as Mountain Eater just aimed at earth and ground type energy.

Her talent obviously qualified Larvitar for a candidate spot, not to mention that her potential was a bit better than her Mountain Eater fellow eater. She was right up there with the Solid Rock guy as far as potential was concerned. Honestly, the only point of contention was that she was a female, which went against my plan to call my Larvitar Gojira/Godzilla. Still, her talent and potential were good enough for me to disregard that and put her on the candidate list right beside the other two potential options.

As if that had not been enough I stumbled upon another impressive Larvitar not long after that. Honestly, looking at Larvitar's status sheet I could not help but feel perplexed.

'Species: Larvitar

Gender: Male

Type: Rock, Ground

Potential: Deep Blue

Stage: Iron-stage (Mid)

(Genetic) Modifiers: None

Abilities: Guts, Sand Veil

Talents: Lightning Eater

Affinities: Rock, Ground, Electric'

I mean, what the hell? Is this a practical joke from Mew or another legendary? First the Mountain Eater, then the Earth Eater, and now the Lightning Eater. Are they the Eating Siblings, the Gourmet Triplets, the Foodie Cousins? I could not help but wonder if it was my luck that was going crazy or if these Larvitar were just lucky.

Still, after setting my doubts aside for a moment I took a look at Lightning Eater's description to ensure that it was what I thought it was, and it actually ended up being slightly different compared to the previous two talents. As far as I could discern, this Lightning Eater had pretty much the same effect as Lightning Rod. The difference lay in the fact that Larvitar consumed the lightning/electric energy he attracted instead of absorbing it. Other than that he had an immunity to electric moves/energy, and his Sp.Atk/energy capacity momentarily rose upon eating electric energy.

In my opinion, Lightning Eater was a bit better than the other two talents because it attracted electric moves toward itself and I believed that raising his energy offense during a battle was a tad bit better than restoring his health. Obviously, this Larvitar joined the others at the top of my candidate list, which funnily enough only had Larvitar sharing the first place.

Frankly, I was already satisfied with the two special Larvitar I managed to spot during this inspection, but somehow it seemed that I had yet to run out of luck since the last Larvitar I observed ended up being a rather special lad as well.

'Species: Larvitar

Gender: Male

Type: Rock, Ground

Potential: Blue

Stage: Iron-stage (High)

(Genetic) Modifiers: None

Abilities: Guts, Sand Veil

Talents: Raw Power

Affinities: Rock, Ground'

I directly checked its description, and Raw Power raised Larvitar's strength by 50%, which was quite good. That would raise a Tyranitar's racial value from 600 to 667 without any modifier being involved. A strength racial value of 201 was insane, but that was what this Larvitar would end up with as a Tyranitar. Not to mention the chance of Raw Power getting an upgrade after going through Utopia's optimization. The chances of that happening were not insignificant for a talent like this.

Honestly, I could not help at marvel at my luck right now. In fact, I was so lucky that I was having a hard time choosing just one of the options I had available.
