Chapter 635 - CH16 (630), Final Stretch (2)

Utopia directly began to analyze the Munchlax egg and promptly created a fitting habitat along with a nursing area. I allowed the egg to be transferred to its new home before storing away the incubator that was left behind. After using my admin right to check that the egg was in good condition, I made my way to my mansion since I had to create special supplements for the egg.

I had not done so before since I did not know the specific circumstances of the egg, but now that I had checked it, I knew what kind of supplement would be the most appropriate. There were a multitude of solutions and salves for a Munchlax egg inside my head, but there were two in particular that were appropriate for a 4-star Munchlax egg that was close to hatching. I simply had to increase the potency of the two supplements a bit to make up for the fact that the egg, or rather the Munchlax inside the egg had deep green potential.

First off, I needed 40 Oran Berries, 20 Sitrus Berries, 10 Lum Berries, and 15 Chilan Berries. I had to first squeeze out their juice before storing their pulp in a separate container. The only part that was not needed for this was the skin, but I would use that one to make mulch later on. Still, right now I only needed the juice, which I was going to use for the solution, and the pulp, which would be used for the salve.

Aside from the berries, I also needed 500 ml of Snorlax Blood from a bronze-stage Snorlax and 20 ml of Snorlax Blood from a silver-stage Snorlax for the slight boost I was aiming for. Half of the silver blood was going to be added to the solution while the other half would be used for the salve. The bronze blood did not follow the same arrangement. Here I would use 350 ml for the solution, while 150 ml would be used for the salve.

Thankfully, I had stored away blood from a few species that I was planning to get in the future including Snorlax, ranging from iron blood all the way up to dark gold blood, though I only had a little bit of the latter. Had I not done that, I would have had to wait until we arrived in Hoenn to prepare the supplements, which would have cost the egg/Munchlax two more days, discounting today. While I had stored the blood with already hatched Pokemon in mind, that did not stop me from using it for an egg, so yay me.

Moving on, I also needed 600 ml of C-class MooMoo Milk, of which 450 ml would be used for the solution while the rest would go into the salve production. Usually, C-class milk would be too much for a regular egg, but I knew for a fact that Munchlax, Snorlax along with a few other species could handle the C-class version, so I obviously went with that one instead.

On top of that, a bronze Blissey egg would also be added to the solution, or rather what was inside since the egg shells would be used for the salve instead. The formula called for a Chansey egg, but I had a Blissey egg at hand, so I was going to use that one since it was more nutritional/beneficial for the egg/Munchlax. Getting that egg had been quite hard, not to mention expensive but it was a necessary expense due to its use.

Sadly Utopia could not "produce" chicken eggs, much less Chansey or Blissey eggs, so I had to buy them like everyone else. Thankfully I was a rich young man with a steady as well as relatively abundant income so I could afford to buy all the things that Utopia could not produce and that I needed for my various supplements.

Anyway, I also needed a whole D-Class Farfetch'd Leek for the salve and powdered D-Class Tauros Horn for both the salve and solution. Due to the slight changes I had made to the formula I had to adjust the portions of the various ingredients as well, but by now I had an abundance of experience that allowed me to do so without any problems. After I had set out everything in the correct quantities, I began creating the solution.

It took me close to 40 minutes to reach the final step, but I managed to successfully produce 6 liters of Munchlax solution which should suffice for 4 weeks. With the solution done, I moved on to the salve, and finishing that one took a bit longer, but after an hour, I had close to 3 kg of Munchlax salve ready. I was going to apply roughly 200 grams of it to the egg every two days, which meant that I had made enough of it for a month.

I took the incubator the egg came with, filled it with 1.5 liters of the solution, took 200 gr of the salve, and headed for Munchlax's nursing area. Once there, I applied the salve evenly on the egg and waited two hours to ensure it absorbed everything. I meditated during this time to expand my aura as well as psionic pools before cleaning the egg and placing it inside the solution-filled incubator.

I'd have to take it back out to apply another round of salve on it the day after tomorrow, but until then it would be soaking inside the incubator. I placed the incubator back in its spot and left the area for my own. Once there I called over my Pokemon and spent the rest of the night with them. I also spent most of the next day inside Utopia with my Pokemon, only leaving once to show my face around the board restaurant.

The day after that was our final one at sea. According to the announcement during breakfast, we were slated to arrive at 9:40 p.m., which was a bit later than announced at the beginning of the trip, but I felt that a 40-minute delay at the end of a 6-day journey was more than acceptable.

I spent the time after our morning training session setting up a few more targets for my journey. Well, besides the obvious one of earning badges. While I had already added some new Pokemon to my "to train-up list" during this ship voyage, I definitely had some Pokemon that I was going to add to my team. Some of these Pokemon could be captured regardless of their evolutionary form, age, or stage, but others had to be captured as young as possible.

Bagon was such a Pokemon. Being one of the apex dragons it had high requirements for its trainer/partner, and earning its trust and respect was much harder if it was not young. Besides, I definitely wanted to ensure that my Bagon followed the best/optimal path to the top, so it being not beyond the bronze stage was my minimum requirement. It would naturally be better if it was still at the iron stage, though I did not want an egg since Bagon eggs took quite some time to hatch. Not to mention that their youngling/hatchling phase tended to be longer than that of most other species.

Anyway, I hoped to catch a Bagon or two at Meteor Falls, and a second Beldum at the Chimney Mountain Range. I naturally would not say no to more Beldum, but I would need at least one for the fusion evolution of my Beldum. With the amount of points I had accumulated so far, I could have directly exchanged both a Bagon as well as a Beldum, but I wanted to try my chance as far as Bagon was concerned, and it was unlikely that the Beldum the league would get me would be better than the one I could find by myself.

The league would offer me a limited amount to choose from and I would have no way to ensure that a useful one, at least for my objective, would be among the choices. There was a chance that I may be able to apply for the chance to directly go to the sanctuary instead, but I had a similar problem there since I had no way of knowing if they, the Metagross, would show me everyone or if they would even be okay with one of their good/decent potential Beldum merging into mine.

Naturally, the direct exchange was still an option in case I failed to find either a Bagon or a Beldum on my own since I still had the necessary points for that, but I first wanted to try my chance. Either way, I would have to apply for the authorization to enter into the protected/restricted areas of the Meteor Falls, and the Chimney Mountain Range since the Bagon as well as Beldum lines lived in those areas and did usually not wander outside of them.

Still, the actual application would have to wait until I made it to those places, which would take a while. Obviously, while those two Pokemon were at the top of my list, I had a few other Pokemon/species I wanted to add to my team during this list, and Slakoth was definitely high on that list as well. It was also one of the Pokemon I had to get as young as possible, and I definitely was aiming for an egg instead of a hatched one.

The motivation behind that was quite different compared to Bagon. It was related to the inherent laziness of the Slakoth line. The best way to combat/overcome that was to start a "work/life ethic" right from Slakoth's birth, and I was planning to do just that, so looking for an egg in the Petalburg Forest was a must.

Speaking of the Petalburg Forest, I was also going to check if I could find the Treecko tribe that according to the anime was shown to live there. If I could track them down, and capture one or more of them, I'd be a happy camper. Aside from Treecko, I also had an inkling on where to find some Mudkip. The anime had shown that there was a tribe living on/around Dewford Island, though it was possible that this one could actually belong to the alliance.

That possibility would not stop me from looking for the tribe, and I was definitely going to pay a visit to those places as well. Nonetheless, using my alliance points for some royal Pokemon was not impossible either, especially since I had no hints on where to find some Torchic. We would have to see how my journey went.

Regardless, there were still quite a few others on my list, such as the Aron, Duskull, or Spheal lines. As far as these three were concerned, I did not care too much about the details as long as the Pokemon itself was promising, and I had no real plans to get more than one or maybe two of them. However, the same was not true for the Trapinch line.

As far as Trapinch and its evolutions were concerned, my attitude was that there was no limit to how many I was willing to add to Utopia. Not only was Flygon a dragon type, one of my favorite ones at that, but I was also hoping to see if I could not help "discover" the first known dragon/bug type Pokemon. I knew that Kinji would love one, and I was more than willing to give him one if I was able to steer things in the right direction.

Anyway, aside from these four, I would definitely not say no to more Swablu, Ralts, or some Meditite, Roselia, Numel, and/or Wailord/Wailmer if I got the chance to get some for Utopia. Honestly, there were a few Pokemon that I would not mind adding to Utopia if their potential was good enough, such as Electrike, Whismur, or Shroomish, but unlike with the Pokemon on my objective list, I wouldn't go out of my way to really search for them.

Still, it remained a fact that I would be willing to take some extra time or even make some detours if I happened to stumble upon the tracks of some interesting or rare Pokemon.
