Chapter 350 - CH117 (347), Follow Up

I did not forget to congratulate and inform Tyson/Machamp regarding his new talent. He gave me a happy smile and confirmed that he had noticed the difference. Tyson said that he got a rough feeling about what the change meant and my description only clarified it for him.

I was not surprised that he noticed that since such bodily talents or abilities were generally accompanied by an intuition regarding their use. Anyway, his evolution made me think about Tatsumaki/Kadabra, but also about our new addition, Tyrogue.

Tatsumaki came to my mind because she was pretty close to fulfilling her evolution condition as well. She only had to master one last move, and then she could evolve any time she wanted. From our last conversation, I was confident that she could evolve before the new term began, so within the next two months.

I had previously thought that Tyson and Tatsumaki would have to finish their second round of limit-breaking to be able to evolve since usually only (low) gold-stage Machoke or Kadabra evolved to their next form, at least that had been my previous assumption based on what I had previously found out.

However, it seemed that coming close to finishing the first round of limit-breaking was enough to support, or rather fulfill the conditions for the evolution as well. Otherwise, Tyson would not have been able to trigger his evolution, and as far as I knew he was the first recorded Machoke to naturally evolve to Machamp at the (high) silver stage.

There could obviously be some off-the-record ones that evolved earlier, but I had no way of knowing that. Anyway, moving on. The reason Tyrogue came to my mind, was because he was a hard case as far as evolution was concerned, or rather my expectations regarding limit-breaking made Tyrogue's case a hard one.

Tyrogue had only a single evolution, so the optimal evolution point for his species was (high) bronze. That in itself was not that bad since the goal was not too far off with him already being at the (high) iron stage.

However, Tyrogue as a species belonged to the bottom group as far as the racial value was concerned, meaning their development speed was slower than that of most other Pokemon species.

While that normally would not be too much of a problem for most Tyrogue since it just meant a few years more training at most, it became a problem when one wanted Tyrogue to go through limit-breaking training.

My experience with similarly low racial value species such as Caterpie and Weedle told me that it would probably take Tyrogue 2, maybe even close to 3 years to reach the (high) bronze stage, and that was only because of his already good starting point as well as my resources.

At least that would have been the case if not for his talent. If I, or rather we managed to make good use of his talent, we might be able to reduce that duration to a year or even less.

That would be good since Tyrogue not only progressed slower due to their low racial value, but they also did not naturally learn any new moves besides the initial 4, which made learning new moves harder as well.

Well, it was better to focus on the ones he already had anyway, this way we could avoid wasting any extra time. The saved time could then be used to focus on his parameters to reach the (high) bronze stage even a bit earlier.

To that end, I called Tyrogue over and told him that we would perform a string of tests after Tyson's party, and that's what we did. After everyone finished congratulating Tyson, I briefly went out for breakfast with my parents, before going back to my room.

I reentered Utopia after that, and we threw Tyson's successful evolution party, which went for the next three, close to four hours. We ended to part with a sumptuous lunch at 2 p.m, and I let everyone do their thing afterward.

As for myself, I left Utopia with Tyrogue in tow, and we went down to the terrace, where I had Tyrogue perform various exercises while I was observing him and his body's reactions to the exercises, both figuratively as well as literally.

It took hours to see which exercise affected which parameter and body region by how much, as well as roughly when his talent got triggered. I had to find an exercise routine that affected as many elements enough for them to trigger his talent after all, so it was not surprising that I did not come up with a perfect plan straight away.

If there was something like a perfect plan in the first place. Still, by the time dinner was ready and mom called us inside, I had created 4 rudimentary exercise routines for Tyrogue that would cover all of his parameters between them and even train some of his moves while he was at it.

I would obviously refine the routines further as time passed, but this was good enough for now. Tyrogue himself was completely spent and had a hard time doing more than simply moving due to his exhaustion. If not for the multiple times I had asked Ali/Kirlia, Gwen/Gardevoir, and Luna/Clefable to help him heal/recover, Tyrogue would have been unable to do even that.

In fact, if not for their help, he would have been unable to persist through all the exercises. Yet, he still had a big smile on his face, showing how happy he was with the results of our labor. The others were already back inside Utopia and eating their dinner, along with everyone else there, but Tyrogue was accompanying me inside since he would be eating with us.

Well, I gave him some additional vitamin and nutrition pellets since our dinner alone was not enough to satisfy all his needs according to my training and nutrition plan.

With the training my Pokemon were going through both according to my instructions as well as additionally on their own whenever they felt like it, I was not worried about them becoming fat or oversaturated. On the contrary, I always made sure or rather had to make sure, that they received enough energy and nutrition-rich food and drinks.

I seriously doubted that someone else in my position could have supported as many Pokemon to the degree that I was doing, and the only reason I could do it was Utopia.

No wonder all other serious trainers focused on a select few Pokemon, most of the time between 6 and 14, with only the richest as well as those with great backgrounds keeping up to 30 Pokemon.

The numbers here represented not the total number of Pokemon a trainer had, but rather those that they truly focused on. Their main, first, and second-string teams so to speak. Both mom and dad had 12 Pokemon each, and they also had their main team along with their second string.

The reason for that was relatively simply one batch was simply stronger than the other, whether that be due to age, their potential, or because they had only "recently" joined them, but it remained true that some of their Pokemon were simply stronger than the others.

The same was true for everyone, which was why there was a distinction between teams or rosters. Anyway, I spent the next two days focusing on two things. Gible and Tyrogue's training.

Gible mainly because he was new as well as his previous issues and Tyrogue to help him slightly adjust his exercise routine bit by bit. I obviously also spent some time with my other Pokemon, but those two were the main focus for now.

I also used some of my AP to exchange a D-Class Gravity Stone from the material list Mr. Cameron had given me since I could not use the B-Class one for Tyrogue's training because supporting the consumption of a B-Class item was too draining for the little guy.

'Name: Gravity Stone

Type: Rock

Class: D

Uses:

A stone that following a chain of lucky circumstances managed to gain the ability to increase its gravity. Things in immediate contact with the stone are affected by this increase in gravity as well.

The increase in gravity and the duration of the effect are depended on the energy injected into the stone. The maximum duration depends on the amount of injected energy, while the increase in gravity depends on the quality/density of the injected energy.

The maximum uninterrupted period this stone can increase gravity is 2 days.

The maximum gravity increase this stone can cause is 4 times.'

The duration used to be a single day and the maximum gravity was 2.3 times before Utopia raised it to the maximum the D-Class could support. The current Utopia would have also been able to upgrade its class even further to the C-Class, but I stopped it since a D-Class one was more appropriate for Tyrogue's training.

A C-Class Gravity Stone would have to wait until Utopia produced it by itself, which it could do, and I had Utopia work on it, so I would have one in my possession in a bit more than a week. The first one who was going to receive one of those would be Ali.

That would free up some of Luna's focus and time as well since she kept helping him train with her Gravity, even if he was not the only one that she was helping train. As for the B-Class Gravity Stone, well, I had used it to create a belt that Mothra was wearing for her training.

Still, I had no problem spending my time on all that since it was for my Pokemon. Besides, it helped pass the time and it was already Dialday before I knew it. I just finished breakfast and told mom that I would be back before 7 p.m, before leaving for the academy.

I did not hurry since I did not want to arrive too early, so it was point 9 a.m when I knocked on Mr. Cameron's office door. Mr. Cameron greeted me with a "right on time", before he began asking me how my new additions were doing, especially Gible.

I told him how they were doing and he was happy that the Pokemon were fitting in properly. After that bit of small talk, Mr. Cameron called out his Gallade who directly reported me to the Togepi habitat after giving me a nod in greeting.

There I saw a Togekiss waiting for us, and after Gallade exchanged some words with it he left. Togekiss greeted me and welcomed me to their home. Knowing that the Togepi line put great importance on bonds, happiness, positive emotions, and genuineness I asked Togekiss if I could call out some of my Pokemon for the duration of my stay.

Togekiss looked intrigued by my request but still allowed it after briefly considering it. I then called out a few of my Pokemon, who I knew would help my image in the eyes of the Togekiss, Togetic, and Togepi by quite a bit.

I called out Mothra/Butterfree, Horus/Xatu, Nyx/Umbreon, Enji/Arcanine, Luna, Tatsumaki, Tyson, Ali, and even Gwen. Most were obviously called out because they loved me, and because I knew they could get along well with the inhabitants, but Gwen was called out because she was new on top of being linked to emotions, so a positive review from her would raise my impression points by quite a bit.

There was also the fact that most of them could later help me with cooking since I was expecting to have to prepare a lot of curry for the Toge members. The Togekiss simply greeted everyone, while I told them where we were and that they should ask for consent first before they tried to play with any of the Pokemon here.

They all acknowledged my request, and once we were done, elder Togekiss led us further inside the habitat, toward the place the Togepi and apparently the Togetic liked to hang out the most.
