Quirks: Faintly Stubborn'
Well, it looked like Ali did not unlock a new talent, but that had been a long shot anyway. He finally crossed the last percent to deep blue and then some, nearly covering a quarter of the way to light purple.
Another positive development was that achieving his goal seemed to have reduced his stubbornness a bit. Hopefully, a few therapy sessions with yours truly would mitigate the rest.
'Parameters:
Stage: Bronze Stage (high)
Vitality: C (+)
Strength: D (+)
Endurance: D (+)
Agility: C (+)
Energy Capacity: C (+)
Energy Density: C (+)'
His parameters had not changed due to his evolution, so there was not much to say about that. Well, maybe it was worth noting that his training speed should be a bit higher now that his racial values are a tad higher, even if his racial were still pretty low.
'Immunity:
Dragon
-
Resistance:
Fighting (Major), Psychic (Minor)
-
Weaknesses:
Poison (Minor), Ghost (Minor), Steel (Minor)'
There was no change to his typing, so the type relations stayed the same. Ali was not going through any resistance training, since his weaknesses were going to change once he evolved to Gallade.
Of his old weaknesses, only the ghost type would remain and training that one without the help of a ghost type was just not worth it. Besides, due to his low racial values, he had to turn nearly all his focus on his parameter training.
Any time he did not focus on his parameters he was busy with his moves instead. So, resistance training was something that had to be left to the future. Hmm, might as well start by acclimating him to the energy through some snacks. I don't want to mess with his meals, so it had to be his snacks.
'Masteries:
Psionic Energy Manipulation (Proficient)
Fairy Energy Manipulation (Beginner)'
His energy masteries had not made the next step as well due to the previously mentioned reason. Still, I was pretty sure psionic energy manipulation would rank up soon enough. As for his fairy energy manipulation, that one had been neglected for quite a bit.
I was contemplating if I should have him focus on that one for a bit since he was going to lose his fairy typing when he evolved to Gallade. While he would keep his fairy energy manipulation even after losing the typing, it would progress much slower than before.
We would have to see how his future progress went before deciding whether to focus on his fairy aspect or not.

Nothing had changed here as well. He did not learn any moves after his evolution. Not that I had been expecting any, but some lucky enlightenment or something along those lines would have been welcome.
Hmm, I think that after he was done with Endure I'll have him work on Safeguard and Thunder Wave. After my brief check-up on Ali's status screen, I turned back to everyone else.
They had calmed down by now and were all looking at me with anticipation. I had to smile at their behavior and told them what they wanted to hear.
"Alright, since Ali evolved, let's party!" I exclaimed and they all cheered. Subsequently, I pulled out a lot of snacks and upon their request, I began to sing a few songs.
As it had become tradition we took a group photo and the rest of the day was spent relaxing together. The open cinema made a reappearance, and we had curry for dinner.
The next day, my parents showed up while I was in the middle of preparing breakfast, so I made some for them as well. After that we talked for a bit and roughly 30 minutes after breakfast I changed into sensei-mode and forced them into personal combat training.
I'd like to say that I put them through the wringer, but that would be an exaggeration since they didn't even get bruised this time. We went through the kata I learned in the academy and I had them perform move chains to make their movements flow into each other.
I'd have them focus on that for now before using those in a sparring match. The info we got from last week's sparring would be enough until then.
Anyway, after supervising my parents I did my routine check-up on Eggy before we went out to buy Rose's gift since her birthday was next week. While we were walking towards the city center we began discussing what we should get Rose as a gift.
"How about an egg?" I proposed after we went through multiple suggestions that all got shot down.
To be honest, I knew as soon as I proposed it that it would be rejected, and as I thought I saw dad shaking his head.
"No, an egg is way too expensive as a birthday gift for a friend. If it had been for her birthday the year her journey began we could have considered it, but for a regular birthday it's way too grand." Mom was the one to verbalize the denial.
As I said it made sense and I immediately came to the same conclusion after the words left my mouth, but to be perfectly honest, the last part took me by surprise.
I had not thought that mom would have considered the option under any circumstances since the price of eggs was out of the appropriate gift price range for non-family members. Nonetheless, I seem to have been proven wrong.
"The safest bet would be some clothes," dad proposed and I had to agree with him. As long as we left the selection to mom, I was sure that clothes were the safest bet.
"How about some grooming tools?" I gave another alternative and both seemed to consider the idea.
"That would work as well," dad agreed with a nod.
"Let's take a look around first. We can decide which one to buy after looking through all the available options." When she said that, all I understood was that she was planning to drag us through all stores in the area.
A look at dad's slumped shoulders told me he got the same message as me, so my shoulders joined his and I mentally prepared myself for a whole day of being dragged around stores.
Mom gave us a bright smile when she saw our behavior. A minute later, once we arrived at the city center, she grabbed one of our hands each and directly led us into the first clothing store we came across.
Well, at least I was not suffering through it alone. Dad and Thor/Pikachu, whom I had called out as soon as we arrived at the city center, had to suffer with me.
We spent the next 3 or so hours being dragged from one store to another and the only reason mom stopped was for a lunch break. While we were leaving the Aldini's branch we heard a commotion coming from the side alley.
I became slightly curious since it sounded as if Pokemon were fighting. I saw mom and dad call out Roselia and Tangela respectively for safety's sake.
We decided to check out the situation, and upon entering the alley we found a small group of Rattata fighting a small group of ghost types over some scraps.
I knew that mom and dad were not going to interfere as they had once told me that trainers did not bother the wild Pokemon inside the cities as long as they did not harm any citizens or were being mistreated.
Still, "static," came out of my mouth as soon as I saw the situation, and Thor directly jumped off my head and released a Thunder Wave to paralyze everyone.
Since none of the ghosts or Rattata had noticed our arrival, they all got hit leaving them paralyzed. I simply had to interfere when I saw the parties involved even if my parents didn't.
The ghosts that fought were a wild Mimikyu, 2 Gastly, a Shuppet, and a Misdreavus. There was no way I was going to miss the chance to check their status, and after they were immobilized I began with the Mimikyu.
I walked closer to it with my parents following by my side, before using my abilities to touch it without physical contact.
'Species: Mimikyu
Gender: Female
Type: Ghost, Fairy
Potential: Deep Green
Stage: Bronze-stage (low)
Genetic variation: None
Abilities: Disguise, Infiltrator
Talents: None
Affinities: Ghost, Fairy'
*phew*
I couldn't suppress the desire to whistle when I saw her status screen. A pretty lucky find. She had deep green potential, and her second ability was Infiltrator.
Unlike the games where Mimikyu only had the Disguise ability, they had more on Terra, even if Disguise was still the primary one, which meant that it would always be the first ability a Mimikyu would have.
Still, while I was pleasantly surprised by her potential, I actually preferred the Gastly and Duskull lines as far as ghost types were concerned. Nonetheless, she would be a great option for mom.
'Species: Shuppet
Gender: Female
Type: Ghost
Potential: Yellow
Stage: Iron-stage (high)
Genetic variation: None
Abilities: Cursed Body
Talents: None
Affinities: Ghost'
I checked out the Shuppet next, but her potential while not bad was a bit disappointing, so I went straight to the next one.
'Species: Misdreavus
Gender: Male
Type: Ghost
Potential: Green
Stage: Bronze-stage (low)
Genetic variation: None
Abilities: Levitate, Clear Body
Talents: None
Affinities: Ghost'
Now, this one was another pleasant surprise. Green potential, along with Clear Body as the second ability. Levitate was another case of primary ability that was the only one in canon, and the way the ability worked was that floating around cost those possessing this ability zero energy.
Otherwise, the ability would have been totally useless since all ghosts could float due to their very being. Still, like before I was more interested in the Gastly, so I checked out the closest one.
'Species: Gastly
Gender: Female
Type: Ghost, Poison
Potential: Light Yellow
Stage: Iron-stage (mid)
Genetic variation: None
Abilities: Levitate
Talents: None
Affinities: Ghost, Poison'
Wow, this Gastly turned out to be the biggest disappointment so far even if I had to admit that the potential average so far in their little group was pretty impressive. Nonetheless, light yellow potential was far from enough to join my side, so I began to check out the last Gastly.
'Species: Gastly
Gender: Male
Type: Ghost, Poison
Potential: Light Blue
Stage: Bronze-stage (mid)
Genetic variation: None
Abilities: Levitate, Infiltrator
Talents: None
Affinities: Ghost, Poison'
*whistle*
I couldn't stop myself from whistling. Heck, I did not want to stop myself from whistling. I had hit the jackpot with the last Gastly. Light blue potential, and Infiltrator as his second ability. He was impressive and he seemed to be the strongest member of their little group.
I went straight up to him and began to address him. Since ghost types generally gained sapience between the low and mid bronze stage, the probability of him along with Mimikyu and Misdreavus having gained sapience was pretty high.
"Gastly, my buddy Thor here could be said to have beaten all of you in a single move," I said while patting Thor, who was sitting on my shoulder on the head.
"I'll be honest with you, I'm planning to capture you because I want you to join my team. Moreover, I plan to let my parents capture the Mimikyu and Misdreavus as well." I announced not only to him but to my parents and the Pokemon in question as well.
After that little preamble, I began to list the advantages of joining the dark side, sorry I meant my team, and after I was done he seemed tempted.
Still, he looked over at his group members and they began to talk with each other. Afterward, he asked/demanded that I took care of the other two ghosts, Shuppet and the female Gastly as well before he agreed to join me.
"I have no problem with taking care of them, but I'll be honest with you. I have no plans to add them to my main team." I told him and he agreed, so I quickly balled the two before balling him as well.
Then I turned to my parents who had been watching the whole exchange. I smiled at them, before focusing on the last two ghosts. I was planning to have them go through Utopia first before handing them over to my parents, so after getting the go-ahead from them I caught Mimikyu and Misdreavus as well. Only after I had put away the Pokeballs did they question why I did what I did.
