Chapter 160 - CH29 (159), The Holidays With The Parents (2)

After the private funeral, we spent the next week just relaxing and spending time as a regular family would. Doing things like going outside to visit parks, eating at restaurants, and stuff like that. We even went to the cinema on Dialday, to watch the next part of the PokeRangers movie series.

My parents wanted their Pokemon to just relax for the time. For them to take a short break after a pretty active five months. Oh, and I should mention that the ones that reached the next color noticed the difference in potential right after they woke up the next day, which meant my parents learned about it as well.

Since it happened to 8 out of 17 Pokemon my parents were flabbergasted. I was not sure if they suspected my involvement, but they finally decided that it probably happened due to them finally relaxing after the stimulation caused by the tide.

We went to the test center in Rota City and returned home with the unopened test results. Dad was the first one to open the results and when he got the confirmation that the mythical 6-star potential really existed, and that his Nidoking had attained said potential, he was shocked.

I might have taken a photo to immortalize that moment because it was such a precious moment. Mom opened her results as well, and when the realization settled in, that nearly all of their Pokemon had 5-star potential I took another photo, this time of them both.

My mother looked really good in the photo, I mean her Magikarp impression was spot on. I would also like to point out that those photos were not taken to counter the ones my mom had of me, definitely not. No matter what she and dad may say, I only took them so that we could fondly remember the moment.

Anyway, during the second week, my parents decided to restart light training, and I observed their training as well. I occasionally had some of my Pokemon join their counterparts in my parent's team since I had quite a few Pokemon that were of the same species.

For Gaia and Seb that was especially important since I asked Titan and Titania to give them some advice regarding their soon-to-be new form. It had been about two weeks since my Nido-pair had reached the (high) silver stage, and I felt it was time for their evolution.

The change was a big one for the Nido-line after all, and I was hoping their talks would help my Nidos with their new forms. Furthermore, they could help them get used to their new form after the evolution was done. I choose to go through with it in 2 days at the beginning of the third week.

Still, Gaia and Seb were not the only ones that could benefit from advice on the changes that happen due to evolution. Moka was another one of my Pokemon that got tips as well. I asked my Golbat to pester Duke for tips on getting used to having 4 wings as a Crobat.

She could evolve anytime she wanted as well and she wasn't that far off from reaching the point I set for her. Still, she had come a long way since I caught her more than two and a half years ago.

I was actually not really sure if I should catch her or not when I came across her during a cave exploration, thinking that I may be able to find one with better potential, but surprisingly I got a feeling from my aura that I should catch her.

Although I used that as an excuse quite often when talking with others, it was actually the first time the phenomenon really happened to me. Deciding to trust the feeling I caught her, which involved a slight ass-whooping courtesy of Thor.

She naturally went through the optimization process of Utopia, where she unlocked the royal gene. Surprisingly, the only visible difference was that she grew to be a bit larger than the average of her species, and nothing else.

Since then she had reached the point where she only had to raise her endurance once before she could break through to the silver stage. Hence, the whole grilling Duke for answers thing.

If not for the fact that I had some scruples on whether Moka belonged to the 2-evolution group or the external trigger group she would have already evolved nearly a year ago.

I knew intellectually that she should belong to the first group since she only had a friendship requirement, but my doubt had me delay it until now. Still, I had decided to let her evolve after she broke through instead of waiting until she reached (high) silver.

Kinda like a compromise, even if there was actually no need to have one in the first place. Sometimes, the things I did made no sense, but c'est la vie.

We spent the weekend visiting the knight-themed amusement park in the outskirts of West Rota. I was sure the park had nothing to do with the Knight Academy at all.

We got to watch some "real" jousting on Kyoday and some Knight battles with swords as well as shields on Grouday, which was really cool. Anyway, today was Arcday, so just as I had decided, it was time for Gaia and Seb to evolve.

Since my parents were home, they wanted to witness their evolution as well, which meant I couldn't let my Nidos evolve inside Utopia. Which was why my parents and I were standing in front of Gaia and Seb's dwelling right now with everyone out watching as well.

Obviously not all my Pokemon, since I kept about half inside Utopia, but there were still a lot of them. While everyone stood around the stars of the show, I was taking out all the materials I had prepared for this situation.

I placed a few D-class Moon Stones in a circle 2 meters around Gaia and Seb respectively. Between the stones, I alternatively placed D-class thorns from the spine of a Nidoking/Nidoqueen respectively, and D-class Sandslash back-spikes.

I only had to pay for one of those each so that Utopia could replicate them, but I still had to pay roughly 250.000 Poke for them. The worth of the ones I used right now was around. 3.500.000 Poke.

After that, I began applying a salve that I made out of quite a few ingredients. C-class/Gold-stage Nidoking/Nidoqueen blood made up the basis. C-class Arbok venom, Muk Sludge, as well as Seviper Venom were added to increase their toxicity and provide additional poison energy.

I had to buy the full amount necessary for the salve since Utopia did not replicate the blood, venom, and sludge. I needed around 0,5 liters of heart blood as well as 50 liters of regular blood each, and 10 liters of the venom and sludge each for the salve.

I think I paid roughly 4.000.000 for everything except the heart blood. That alone cost nearly 1.000.000 Poke. The reason I didn't take the blood from my parent's Nido-pair was that taking the whole amount of regular blood would take weeks and they would be weakened by a lot during that time.

They would also need to recuperate for another week or two to fully restore their fighting capacity. Taking the heart blood would weaken them for a few months instead. I naturally couldn't allow that to happen, so I bought the blood instead.

The C-class Ground Sandslash spikes, Marowak Bones, and Donphan tusks were for the additional ground energy and I needed 6 of those. I paid close to 1.000.000 Poke for them, and there were a few more materials that were added as stabilizers that were worth around another 2.000.000 Poke.

All in all, it cost about 8.000.000 Poke to create a salve that should not only increase their potential but also have a positive impact on their two energies/types.

If we added the 2 C-class Moon Stones I was planning to use to trigger the evolution which cost about 500.000 Poke total, we had a total cost of 12.000.000 Poke.

This was a massive amount for non-trainers and lower to mid-ranked trainers, which showed just how costly raising and training Pokemon could be.

I knew that my parents could roughly guess how much the stuff I was using was worth, but if they were shocked they didn't show it. I think I finally managed to numb them towards the bullshit I kept pulling.

Anyway, after I was done applying the "money", sorry I meant salve, I took out the two C-class Moon Stones and expertly threw them at Seb and Gaia. They caught them with their teeth and began to shine.

They began attracting energy from their surroundings and from the stuff I placed around them, which made them shine a bit brighter. It took roughly a minute for the light show to subside and for us to see them in all their glory.

They looked like regular Nidoking and Nidoqueen, they were just a bit larger than the average. The average Nidoking was 180 cm, while Titan was about 210 cm tall. Seb on the other hand seemed to be roughly 240 cm tall.

Seb briefly checked out his new body, before he yelled "big bro! Big bro! Look, I'm bigger than you now." He tried to run towards me but stumbled after a few steps due to not being used to his new form. He fell flat on his face which made everyone laugh a bit.

Seb quickly stood up, acted as if nothing happened, and carefully made his way over. Gaia was snickering behind him, unlike Seb she had first made a few test movements before slowly moving over.

Still, Seb arrived by my side first and after making sure he could still control his poison I hugged him. He returned the hug happily and I gave him a few encouraging pats on the shoulder.

The others quickly came over to congratulate him as well. I used that to check his new status.

Besides the species change, his potential increased by nearly 20%, which was a lot considering that he already had light purple potential. His type relation adjusted to his new typing dynamic.

Furthermore, his new ground mastery started at beginner mastery instead of novice thanks to this preparation. At that moment Gaia arrived as well, so I moved over to her and hugged her as well.

She was a bit shorter than Seb. The average Nidoqueen was 170 cm, while Titania was about 190 cm tall. Gaia on the other hand was about 230 cm tall. A few moments later the crowd moved over to her too, and I once more used that moment to check her status.

Her status changes were roughly the same. Well, except for the species name, obviously. After everyone calmed down Titan and Titania began helping Gaia and Seb get used to their new form. The others dispersed while I stayed to watch them going through the motions.
