Bella's POV
Something was off this morning, and I couldn't pinpoint what it was. I took a deep breath and walked up to the vending machine. Despite having had coffee before leaving home, I pressed the vending machine and selected my drink because I was restless and felt like something was missing.
"Good morning, Vice President!" As he walked in, Laurie smiled and greeted her. "Wow, morning coffee, that's great!"
I smiled and said nothing more. While Laurie and I were chatting, Evo's friends strolled by, and I heard their conversation.
"I will confront him," Zoey said.
"I know Evo didn't mean to not show up on your date," Migs said. "There might be an emergency, or something happened last night, and..."
"You know what? I don't need your opinion. You're not Evo, so please stop talking to me like we're close." Zoey stated this with an irritated expression on her face.
