Evo's POV
"Man, you came in early, huh?" Wilson chuckled and wrapped his arms around me.
"Are you excited about the class or going to see someone?" Brian spoke, guffawing.
The next day, I hang out in the hallway, where I know Bella will pass. However, I have been waiting in the hallway for Bella for an hour, and she has yet to arrive. When my friends saw me, they approached me with a grin on their faces.
"What are you talking about?" I asked. "I am just waiting for Sebastian."
My friends even gave each other a high-five. "I'm telling you, Cupid hit him, and now he's interested in grumpy Bella Sebastian," said Wilson.
Because Bella gave them a serious look as she walked beside them, Brian elbowed Wilson. My eyes widened, and I immediately blocked the woman's path.
"VP, let's talk," Evo said.
Bella didn't say a word; she just looked at me. My friends started betting behind Bella's back.
"Do you truly believe that I will forget about your stalking me after the events of yesterday?"
Everyone was surprised, including the students who had just passed by the hallway. I glanced at everyone because I could read their minds. They believe that I stalked Bella yesterday, which is partially true, but to be honest, I wasn't fully aware that it was her. I had a hint that Bella was there, but I didn't anticipate that she was the woman on the motorcycle. So accusing me of being a stalker is not a beneficial thing to say.
"I am not a stalker!" I said. "I didn't know you rode a motorcycle or knew how to ride one."
Bella raised her eyebrows, then stepped closer to me. I stepped back until the wall pressed against my back.
"Don't think that because I agreed to give you a chance to be a teen detective I'm okay with you," Bella said. "Firstly, we're not close. There was no reason to talk to you outside of work, so I was professional yesterday. Thirdly, Kaycee is the only one who desires your inclusion in the group."
The other students, who were watching from a distance, couldn't hear our conversation because Bella's face was so close to mine that she only whispered, giving the impression that we were kissing. I can read their minds, so I know what's going on in everyone's head at that moment. The hallway was full of murmuring. Everyone watched the scene between them as if it were a telenovela.
"Oh my god, are they kissing?"
"Miss Vice President kissed Evo Montenegro!"
I could hear everyone's thoughts except the woman in front of me. I grinned. "You are too close. Do you know what they're thinking right now? They thought that you were kissing me. Why can't we make it true?" I quickly brought my lips to hers, which surprised her.
Bella's powerful slap shook my entire body. I even felt like my cheek was numb. She nearly deformed my jaw, causing one of my ears to become deaf. That woman seriously hurt me. I was surprised, and I couldn't read her mind; if I had, I could have avoided her slapping plan.
"Ouch!" I touched my swollen cheek in surprise. "It's just a kiss, Bella."
"Learn to respect women, Evo Montenegro. Not every woman is like you think. I'm unique because I don't like you. I don't care about arrogant people who think too highly of themselves. You have nothing to be proud of—everything you have comes from your parents. Please don't approach or bother me unless it's important; I don't have time to waste talking to you." Bella staggered away from me.
I was speechless, and so were my friends. My gaze followed the woman as she walked away. I couldn't believe my simple gesture of being friends with her would end up like this. I gripped my cheek, then smiled, realizing the gravity of the situation. This was the first time I was genuinely surprised and felt like slapping my face. However, I didn't feel any irritation or anger towards Sebastian; I just became more interested in what she was showing me. She was a challenge for me. When Brian got close to me, he wrapped his arms around me.
"Dude, does it hurt?"
"Look at him," Wilson said. "Does he look hurt?" he asked, chuckling. "He's even smiling."
"Shit, dude, did you stalk her yesterday?" Migs said, laughing. "Jeez, did Cupid hit your heart with his arrow?"
I glanced at my friends while still rubbing my cheeks. Migs removed my hand from my cheek and even laughed when he saw the palm mark on my cheek.
"Your face is already deformed. How is that?" Migs smile. "I'm more handsome than you."
I simply pushed his hands into my face and began to walk away. 'Damn, her slap hurt.' - Evo.
Someone grabbed my shoulder, and I quickly elbowed him. But I was surprised when he grabbed my elbow and quickly turned it around. My body followed suit, and then I fell to my knees.
"Oh!" I complained.
My friends were also surprised by what happened, and I turned to the one holding my arm.
"K-Kaycee?"
Kaycee smiled at me. She's wearing ripped jeans, a black printed t-shirt, and sneakers. She doesn't seem like a woman when she dresses. And just like when I first met her, she was sucking lollipops.
"Wow, what a cutie! But she seems to want a girl, too." Brian whispered to Migs.
"Did I surprise you?" Kaycee winked at me.
I smiled. "No. The truth is, you broke my bone." I said.
"Jeez, what happened to your face?" "Jeez, what happened to your face?" "Jeez, what happened to your face? Jeez, what happened to your face?" Kaycee inquired, noticing the mark of my palm on my cheek.
My friends laughed. "Ah, he got slapped. It's obvious." Wilson said.
Kaycee turned to Wilson and then approached him. "You're cute...." Kaycee said. "But there's nothing special about you."
I chuckled. "Ah, there are many special things about me, but you can't see them because you also like women," said Wilson.
Kaycee giggles. "Do you think I want a girl?"
"Yeah, it's obvious."
Kaycee didn't answer and instead looked at me. "Let's go?"
I frowned. "Does your course also cover business administration?"
"Nope, but we're in the same building," Kaycee said.
She immediately hugged my arm, and we walked together. Then she whispered to me.
"You won't be mad if I do this to your friends, right?" Kaycee whispered to me.
"Oh shit!"
I rolled onto my back and was unable to suppress a chuckle as I observed Wilson, Migs, and Brian lying on top of one another on the floor.
"Nope, I think they deserved that."
—
Lunchtime. Bella was eating alone at the far end of the table. While eating, she was also reading a book on the table. Bella looked in front of her and saw a tray on the table. She looked at me and frowned. I know she noticed a trace of her palm on my cheek.
I smiled and sat opposite Bella on the other side of the table. It is large enough for two people to share. But Bella didn't remove the book from the top of the table, and there was only a little space on the tray. Kaycee surprised us both by pushing Bella's belongings to the side of the table, setting down the tray she was holding, and then sitting down.
"Have a seat." Kaycee looked at me.
"What do you need?" Bella was annoyed. "And you two joined forces just to approach me."
"You are judgmental. Even though I voted for you to be Vice President, you're still acting grumpy towards me." Kaycee said.
"I'm not grumpy," Bella said. "I want peace and time to myself."
Kaycee just smiled. "Jeez, you're still really pissed off at me."
"I'm not annoyed; I just don't want loud and mischievous people like you."
Kaycee didn't speak yet; it looks like she's used to Bella's behavior. She just smirked and started eating her pasta. I looked at Bella's plate; she barely ate her burger.
"You are mean," I said. "You must be happy because someone is approaching you." Bella looked at me. "Well, don't be too fearless. We're not enemies."
Bella didn't speak. I looked at the book, as well as the food she was eating.
"Why not eat first?" I asked.
Bella didn't say anything, as if she didn't hear me. Kaycee continued eating, and I continued talking.
"I'm sorry about what happened yesterday," I said. "I never meant to stalk you. If I had known it was you, things would have been different." Bella glanced at me. "But I still want to be around you."
"Stalker," she said.
"You can't get me to be curious about you riding a super cool motorcycle. I never thought it could be you." Bella raised an eyebrow. "I'm not familiar with you. Although I've heard your name for a long time, we've never met or spoken until that night, when we won our USBO officer elections. Then, an argument ensued, leading to a mutual misunderstanding, which culminated in the events of yesterday."
Bella stopped reading and glanced at Evo. "Are you really that talkative? You say a lot as if I'm willing to listen."
"You have to listen because we are together almost every day. Your upcoming mission looks exciting."
"Do you think you can pass the test? That test will require you to use your brain, which will bleed. I'm very sure of that. Do you know why? You don't use your brain as much as your mouth or appearance. Just now, I feel sorry for your brain."
Kaycee turned to laugh at me, and Bella glanced at her. "Hmm, Bella, I didn't expect you to talk at such length. I should have recorded it." Kaycee giggled.
"Haha, funny," Bella said.
"Cute," Kaycee said.
I can't believe that the two women in front of me today are special to me. Kaycee has kinesis, while Bella has psychometry, and I have telepathy. If the government believes in it and gives it a chance, collaborating effectively can be a tremendous asset. Currently, aiding the police remains a closely guarded secret.
I heard Bella and Kaycee's slight laugh, and I glanced at them.
"Why are you guys laughing?" I asked in shock.
"You look like a fool, and it suits you," Bella said, and then her facial expression changed again.
"Of course not. He's cute." Kaycee glanced at me and winked.
A man approached us. He gave me a glance before setting the frappé coffee from a well-known coffee shop near the university on our table. There are notes written on the body of the coffee container.
"What a surprise! You have an admirer." Kaycee said. "He must be blind."
Bella glanced at the coffee before noticing the man next to her table.
"That's for you," said the man, quickly leaving them.
As I walked away, I gazed at the man. When he saw that Bella had already sipped what he had given her, I felt like the man had won the lottery.
"You sipped what he gave you?" As I turned back to face Bella, I inquired. "Didn't you even suspect that there might be a potion or drugs in it?"
"Want a taste?" Bella raised her hand and gave me the frappe coffee she was drinking.
I looked at the girl's hand. I couldn't believe Bella would hand me what she was drinking without worrying that they could share the same straw. By chance, it's an indirect kiss.
When Bella noticed that I was uninterested, she drank the coffee again.
"You know my ability, right? Do you think I'm dumb to accept something from someone I don't trust?"
I turned to the man who had given Bella coffee. He's been thinking about giving Bella coffee every day since she accepted it.
"Do you like that man?" I asked abruptly.
Bella looked at Evo. "Why are you interested in knowing?"
"Yeah, why are you curious? Do you feel jealous?" Kaycee asked.
"I'm not jealous. If you don't like that man, you shouldn't accept what he's giving," Evo said. "You're giving him hope with what you're doing."
Kaycee and Bella looked at each other. Kaycee giggled, but Bella just ignored me. Kaycee continued eating, and so did Bella, I glanced at Bella from time to time. I can hear Kaycee's thoughts, but I choose to ignore her. But with Bella, I heard nothing.
"Dude, haven't you finished eating yet, or are you chaperoning Bella to her lunch?"
Kaycee, Bella, and I turned to the newcomer. My friends stood beside me, and Bella glanced at my food.
"We are just talking," I said. "Well, what are you doing here? Go away. You're a nuisance."
"We've been watching you for a while now, and you haven't talked for a few minutes. You're just looking at Miss Sebastian. What's your opinion about her serving as a burger topping while you're eating?" Wilson said, laughing.
Bella looked at them with a mean gaze, and they were suddenly silent.
"Ah, let's go outside first," said Wilson, then put his arms around the two friends and hurried out of the cafeteria.
Bella glanced at me. "Leave when you've finished eating. You're bothering me."
I chuckled, making Bella frown. "Do you know you're the first girl to hit and insult me?"
Bella smiled sarcastically. "Wow, I'm honored."
"I'm nice to you," Kaycee said.
I chuckled. "Yeah. And you're cute."
Kaycee giggled. "I know."
After a while, Laurie and Arthur from USBO approached us.
