Chapter 1 - Lovers of a Different Kind!!!

Once upon a time there was village in a remote place in Karnataka, India. This village was living on agricultural produce and people were engaged in some or the other work related to agriculture. This village had small pond and surrounded by hutments. This village had a Leader who was the mukhiya of the village. The people of this village is to look upto him for any advice, suggestions, help or directions. He was a well to do farmer and had good number of lands with good income out of the produce. He was richer compared to the other people in the village. This made him powerful but still this man was humble to the core. He was known for his generosity and had helped a lot of people out of distress and dire-straits.

This mukhiya had a son who was studying in the nearby city which was about 100 miles from the village. He use to come on regular holidays to stay with his family almost twice a month and over a long trip on festivals and government holidays. He was a final year graduate student and was about to pass out the coming year in March. He was very handsome and had inherited the same qualities of his father and was very popular among the villagers. During his visits he use to share his experiences with the villagers youngsters and elders alike and promised them to teach whatever he knows if people are interested. This he was willing to do free of cost. There were a few volunteers and he embarked on a journey of sharing his knowledge from his experience. he gave inputs on how to lead a good life, importance of learning basics, communication with other people, community living, and other subjects from the elementary topics like history, geography, Biology, Physics, Mathematics and so on.

Very soon he had a large following and he divided the groups into 2. The gents and the ladies separately. he managed time so that the ladies could finish their work and attend their classes. he also accommodated the gents in the similar fashion adjusting his time with their routine work. This attitude of this young lad was well appreciated by one and all. He was a new age Guru for all..a New Chapter was in the making...Learning for all was the new slogan as it was not only education but everything related to daily life, different stages of life and once duties and obligations.

One fine day a calm, composed and simply beautiful girl maybe younger to this lad by approximately 3 years came to enroll herself for the classes. The lad didn't notice first as it was a routine for him and had a tight schedule. The second time he saw he was spell bound at the beauty. He was struck hollow by the simplicity and the glow in her face...it was a sight which he would not have seen in his life time. This girl was a little dusky, with good looks average height and typically dressed in an Indian half sari (famous in Karnataka). it was simply unbelievable for him to understand what happened within him. He was speechless. The girl came forward and spoke the first words to him,'Can i also be part of this great class which you're conducting. I wish to learn and understand the various topics you teach all of them' Her words were like smooth water falling from a mountain, crystal clear, with a sweet tone and this added to her beauty. She was immediately very attractive for this young lad. He couldn't take his eyes of her...He was feeling very happy within. The reason for this happiness couldn't be described in words. He was getting carried away...as if he was flying with the winds, feeling the gush of air whistling through his ears and as if he is falling down from a height, amazing feeling no fear about the thought that he was falling down, and comes out of this imagination only to go back to this new found wonder dream.

This went on for months and exactly after 5 months they were inseparable. They couldn't stay away from each other. He finished his graduation and came out with flying colors. He was felicitated by the whole village as he stood first in the district. They joy for this girl had no bounds after knowing what his new pal has done for himself and to the people of the village. They were unknowingly fallen in love with each other...

This love had blossomed and their happiness was now getting observed by people in the villages. At first people thought it is a casual interaction and nothing serious. But later it was apparent that there was a clear evidence of a spark in both their eyes and their affection to each other was clear. This was brought to the notice of the boy's father. The father got a shock as he couldn't believe his son has fallen in love for a ordinary girl from the village. Although acknowledged that she was beautiful his ego didn't permit him to go ahead with their togetherness. He made a plan. he politely discussed with the boy and told him that he has to now think about his future. Options were further studies or some professional course directly linked to the welfare of the village. he made it look so big that the boy got carried away. he made an attempt to disclose his affection for this girl but couldn't bundle up courage to tell him. he convinced the girl that he will keep intouch with letters and through messages from visitors to the village. With a heavy heart both accepted as it was for the betterment of the village and their future.

The moment the boy had decided to go for further studies. The process for sending him to the city was fast. He was sent within a week and suddenly this girl was left alone with no one to share her feelings and became very sad. The mukhiya immediately rolled out another plan up his sleeves to get this girl married to a fellow villagers son so that she can be sent away from his son. He asked the girls father to come and meet him. the Girls father was happy to hear that the mukhiya was interested in getting his daughter married off. Even the expenses would be bored by the Mukhiya. This sent a happy message to all the villagers and the family of the girl. But the girl was very unhappy. She became sick and pale within a week. She couldnot eat or drink anything. She was showing signs of sickness which was not detected. Everyone was terrified at this state of the girl.

At the other side the boy was admitted to the hospital for a minor fall and was subject to some scans and treatments thereafter. The doctor was shocked while examining the boy. He had no beats in his pulse....he was also showing the same signs that of the girl. The doctor was not able to diagnose what was the problem. he immediately informed his father about his condition and they were asked to come to see him. the state of his health was explained to his father and he was shocked that without a pulse beat how can you justify that he is alive. After careful observation for a few days the doctor engaged the boy into a conversation with the help of a psychologist. he started narrating the story of his love in the village for the girl. he also said something strange when he was asked about his health condition and about his beats. He calmly told the doctor that he doesn't have a heart at all. To this Doctor wanted to test with an xray. to his shock there was no heart at all. there was a hollow in the place where the heart should be.

The doctor was puzzled and it was a question for the entire medical community. How in the earth such a thing can happen? he continued engaging the boy in the conversation to find out more about this miracle. then he said my life is attached to this girl whom he loved and his heart is with her. The doctor further questioned what does that mean...he said that the girl will have 2 hearts one of his and the other belongs to her...The Doctor laughed at this and closed the conversation and brought back the boy to normalcy. he informed the boy's parents that he may need to be admitted in the hospital for a few more days for treatment till he gets better. The boys parents agreed with great difficulty. The villagers were unhappy with the information on this popular lad. They made arrangements for their stay near to the hospital vicinity so that they can be near to their son.

The Doctor then arranged a Team of resident doctors to look after the boy with instructions on routine. He quietly told the parents of the boy that he has another emergency to attend and will be back in a couple of days. he told a lie and actually went to this village where the girl was also staying. He inspected her and also requested their parents to take her to another hospital nearby only to take an xray. the girls parents were poor and couldn't afford the charges. To this the doctor offered help saying that he will take care of the charges and his intention is to help him cure the sickness of the girl. They managed to go to a nearby hospital approximately 50 miles other side of the village which was a small town. Luckily this clinic had the basic required medical diagnostics and the doctor went and discussed with the clinic pathologist and asked him to take a xray of her chest. The report came. The pathologist when handing over the report was sweating and trembilng with shock. The doctor knew the boys words may have come true. The doctor was in a state of disbelief when he saw the xray and the corresponding report. The girl had 2 hearts one beside the other and both were beating one after the other in a particular rhythm that he was curious how such a thing can happen.

The Doctor had confirmed the statement given by boy...and it was a discovery for the doctor unheard of in the medical history. One person without heart was alive and the other person was with 2 hearts both beating harmoniously. The doctor arranged to send the girl back safely with her parents with some instructions and medicines to cure her. The doctor started back to the city where the boy was admitted. By the time he reached the Boy had died. Before dying he had locked himself in the room so that no one could come inside to help him. Then he has written a small note which said,'before you could make this discovery i would have left on a heavenly abode along with my beloved. My parents played against us to separate us but God is with us. If you try to publish this no one will believe as our bodies would have decomposed by then and you'll not be able to prove anything. If you try to go near my love she would have already left for the heavenly abode by that time and will meet me at the gates of heaven. This message i wish to give you that never attempt to separate lovers again or else we know to mend ways as God always supports true love'.

Immediately the Doctor noticed the body the boy had decomposed as he died 3 days back with the doors closed no one could open and doctors instructions were not to disturb the patient much. The staff followed his instructions. The boys parents were heartbroken....they were submerged in guilt and sadness on the outcome of their decisions. The Doctor was restless now to know the other side of the story-the girls side. he managed to send the body for a postmortem and requested the boys parents to take the body back to village to perform the last rites. The Doctor passed instructions again to his staff to see what information can be gained for the benefit of medical history. he then rushed to the girls house in the village to uncover the truth.

The girl had expired the same day doctor had made arrangements to send her back after the tests. That was also exactly 3 days back. It was coincidence or was it destiny? the Doctor had no answers. The girls body was covered with big red ants which was eating away her body in bits and pieces. The body also had decomposed beyond imagination and was throwing foul smell out which was unbearable. The Doctor tried convincing the girls parents to get the body for post mortem. they didn't agree and were only waiting for the mukhiya to perform the last rites. The mukhiya decided to perform both the boys and the girls last rites together on the cremation ground.

The doctor was the only witness to the whole episode and no one knew about this untold story. This was indeed a miracle. The doctor thought about this time and again and started writing about this so that he can publish it for the benefit of the medical fraternity. The doctor went on writing without checking what was the time, didn't think of having food, was busy writing this story in detail, had no clue what was the date on the calendar, didn't go to the hospital for days together...The doctor suddenly became weak and had no strength to even walk because he had exhausted every ounce of his energy writing this story...it was 12 days without food and water and a glimpse of the outer world. The Doctor fainted on the table. it was noticed by a passerby that there was a foul smell in the air on the 14th day and got curious to know from where it was coming. he found out that the smell was coming from the house of this doctor. He immediately called all the hospital staff and informed them about the same. The resident doctor declared that this doctor was dead 2 days back. The story he was writing in a book which was blown away by a strong wind and hit the corner of the house. The hospital staff took the body away and sent for postmortem. Due to the foul smell the cleaning staff was hired to clean the house of the doctor. During the cleaning process this book was found by one of the workers who sold it to a shopkeeper for some petty income. The shopkeeper happened to read this book and threw the book in a dump yard...it went on till one fine day it reached to another breed of lovers....118 people had read this book before going to this breed of new lovers.....this lovers have kept it a secret and only the story was leaked out without the names of the village and the people in the story...this is the story my friends.......
