The dews of the winter morning sent the town of great Florida to sleep.

That morning of 21st December 2020, a little bungalow just covered in dews and hidden with vegetative flowers was exceedingly cold.

Little Nicholas sat opposite the window in his swing chair reminiscing his old tales mother used to read him while she was still alive. The tears would have fallen again but he had outgrown it for the first time in his life.

Nicholas was just ten. He lived with his dad and grandma. He had lost his mom the day he was born. Most times he wished he had never been born maybe his mom would have the chance to live.

Dad never had much time for him. He considered his dad a very strange person. His family was so strange. He didn't understand the fact that his grandma and dad lived together but hardly got along. Little wonders too why his dad left to an unknown destination and returned late all the time and grandma was just too drawn to liking wolves.

He had picked a piece of old book from grandma's secret room and tucked it in his shirt but he needed to know if the story was real. It was time he owned up.

Nicholas placed the book on his lap so grandma would see. Was that the reason she never let him in her secret room??

"Nicholas where did you get my book from?"

"Oh I never knew it was your book I thought it was some old stuffs that needed to be disposed. But mama I think I love the beginning of the story. May I know the end?"

Silly Nicholas teased and grandma took a sit beside him both facing the window. It was time to ease the little boy's curiosity and tell him a little secret.

"This is a story about love, passion and revenge. A story of two worlds living as one but disputed as victims of circumstances. Two worlds that can never know trust once again.

"Damien my boy you will grow to be such a handsome and brave young vampire. I am so proud of you" Alice kissed her 16 year son on his forehead. It was her daily routine. She believed in building his esteem and confidence so he would become relentless and bold like his father Dave someday.

Dave and Alice were the king and queen of the star field kingdom. They were very influential and young living their best life with their only son Damien whom they wished to confer the throne when they age. They were very humble royalties mingling amongst vampires and non vampires alike they never discriminated even if discrimination persisted during Dave's reign. Dave was fair and believed in humanity he upheld laws against feeding on human blood and discrimination against any form of living thing. He believed everyone deserved a chance to survive anyone caught feeding on human was imprisoned and fed with animals until they became sane. (They were referred to as the red v's).

It is seen that star field kingdom during Dave's reign was peaceful and they progressed beyond measures as markets were established and lots of humans, vampires and werewolves were interrelating.

Each day Dave and Alice would climb the pinnacle of the throne where they had a proper view of their kingdom, gave toasts and smiled to their accomplishments. At the end of each day every rule mattered.
