Chapter 39 - All Hell Breaks Loose (Part 1)

I felt heavenly. First, in my life, I was happy, delighted. This term granted a new meaning for me. Axel kept his tormenting promise. He instilled pleasure in me for days, weeks until the pleasure hurt. Thanks to our mate bond, I developed more vital healing, so every time Axel let me catch my breath as my husband carried me to the bathe, we ended up with another round of mind-blowing fuck. I had no idea if the sex was as blissful for Axel as it was for me, considering the amount of experience he possessed.

One time he warned me that dragons took more than a few days to kill the need for release, and even then, I didn't doubt him, but now I felt his words in the most amazing way.

I stretched out my limbs and sprawled my legs out in the bed. How many days were we snatched from the outer world? I didn't care. We fucked, bathed, and devoured luscious food brought into our room. Olivia delivered my favorite succulent dishes and deserts far more mouth-watering than even I, the former princess of the River kingdom, was familiar with. Axel Kek, the king of half of the planet, was a surprisingly affectionate husband. Even though I could heal myself, he always made sure he was the one nurturing me. Once a harsh guard, now I felt like a doll, and somehow I didn't complain. It felt… comforting.

Axel bathed me, dressed me, and onslaught an unbelievable amount of bliss into me. In return, he dominated his pleasure out of me. He threw praises against my lips all the time and whispered sweet nothings into my ear. How good I was taking him in, or how much he wanted to chain me to him forever. Axel demanded incredible closeness to me as his hands never left me. It was amusing and lovely how this giant king adored my touches, and honestly, I relished in this fact.

"Hm," I stretched again as a chilly breeze kissed my body. My skin prickled in response, and I groaned at the missing warmness Axel supplied me with. Mh, His body enveloping me. In his arms was the most comfortable place I could dream of.

Maybe we had too much fun. After all, we were the monarchs of half of the great kingdom. I was curious, would Axel conquer the whole thing?

I prompted myself on my elbows and drank in the mesmerizing white of the vast chamber.

"Gotta get up now-" I leaned forward, but suddenly huge thud echoed in the cloudy sky, and I was shoved back by force.

My breathing quickened as my eyes fell completely open. I jumped up from the bed and immediately put on my new nightgown since Axel tore apart some previous ones. My eyes wandered from one corner to the other.

"What's happening?" A question left my quivering lips addressed to no one particularly. The room was empty, and loneliness was never this chaotic. Thoughts raced left and right in my head.

All of a sudden, the door flung open, and panting, Olivia rushed inside. Frown crept to my face as unsettlement found its way into my heart. Without thinking twice, I approached her with piqued curiosity and seething fear that Axel could be a participant in that roar that shook the walls of the palace.

"Olivia, what the hell is happening?"

"My lady," Olivia clutched my hands in her shaky ones. Her face was drained of color, as her watery eyes were devoid of hope.

"Olivia! Spit it out! I will help the king-"

"No, my lady, You must run!" The hair stood on my back as the words left her trembling plump lips. I gazed down in dismay. Run? Why? Wasn't I safe in Axel's palace? Wasn't I the queen? Where was Axel? What had happened to him? No! No! Did-Did…

My head snapped to Olivia once again as I felt my eyes watering. My body was betraying my brave self as it almost crumbled down in fear of losing Axel. Did I become this attached to him? Gosh, I loved that jerk!

"Where is Axel? I'm not going anywhere without him! Where is he?"

"My lady, the unknown thing attacked the capital, dragon clan, and the king had to stop it. But-"

"Where is he exactly?" I demanded as I rushed to the armoire. I had to fight alongside my husband. He was all I had got.

"My lady, stop!"

A scream forced me to halt my advances and face Olivia, who had both her hands draped to her sides and eyes shut tight.

"Olivia? Olivia! You alright?"

"My queen," she fell to her knees on which my eyes widened to the extent that wetness dried there.

"Olivia…" I murmured as her pleas hit me like a truck. The poignancy of the situation jerked me violently.

"Queen Silver took charge, and now she is on the throne. I overheard her conversation with higher-ups. I am sorry, my queen. They are convinced our king has entered heaven."

"WHAT?"

Why was everything getting red? Like The walls were crumbling on me.

Dark clouds surrounded us as blood tricked down the walls and oozed beneath my bare feet.

"My lady! My lady! My la-"

Olivia? Why was she shouting at me? Wait, who was shouting at me? What was happening? Did this blood come out of me? Why was I pushed into the darkness?

Again, where was I? What happe-

Wait! No! No! Axel had died! No! No! No! It couldn't be! NO! NO!

"My queen! Oh, NO! Please. Queen Silver intends to kill you! Please run with me!"

I slumped down as my legs lost connection to my brain. I was a shaking mess. WHO DID THIS? WHO DARED? UP THERE! IF YOU ARE LISTENING TO ME, WAS MY HAPPINESS TOO MUCH? WHY ARE YOU TORMENTING ME?

My throat ached as I coughed the blood.

The palace was shuddering. I could feel the ground shaking as the distant shouts and shrieks carried over to the castle. Something terrible must have happened since those ominous sounds couldn't be explained otherwise.

"Oh, my lord! You came- MY LORD, careful!"

Thud.

"W-What happened to her?"

Loud clanking and smashing resonated in the room while a cloud of red dust slithered in the air outside the palace. A hot and bubbling roar was shot in the sky.

"Lord! She is wrecking the place! Please help! Please let her escape!"

Whose voice was that? Oh, yeah. Danu.

Somebody slipped their arm beneath my legs while snaking their other one around my waist. They swiftly scooped me up in their arms and cooed at me.

"Rebel. My queen," I softly fluttered my lushes open to be met by honey-leaking red eyes. Danu. The green-haired dragon stared at me with a brotherly affection as he leaned closer. My heart drummed in my chest, but Danu stilled it. My eyes came to life as they widened in response to an unexpected sensation. Danu planted a soft kiss on my forehead.

Shivers ran up and down my spine before my body yielded to his warm touch.

Soft, warm, flattery. That's how I felt. Time stopped, pain froze, and my rage succumbed to the green-haired warrior.

"I am by your side, Rebel. I will protect you," he cooed at me before a ravishing smirk appeared to grace his beautiful face. His nose was inches away from mine, so close. "Let me take care of you, sweetheart. Hm?"

"Danu!" A raspy voice echoed in the hallways along with the rapid clicking of the hills. Olivia flinched and cried out. Danu snapped his head to the entrance with an analyzing expression. His brows furrowed, lips in a thin line and eyes with a dangerous glint in them.

"My lord, she's coming!"

"She will not touch my queen," Danu growled before he neared the window.

"Olivia, run," he ordered to his subject before gazing down at me with a hyper smirk, "Let's fly, baby, huh?"
