The sun shone through the window hit my face. And I could feel the warmth on my skin.
"Miss Bela, it's time for you to wake up. It's morning, and you're still in bed," said a friendly maidservant, bending down to see Isabela's face still hiding under the covers.
"Isn't today a day off?" I asked lazily.
I haven't lowered the blanket yet. The female servant chuckled at my behavior. Because every morning, Bella will be asking the same thing.
When they were fooled by her trick questions, then Isabella Mahendra would be able to skip that day, no school, no study, only playing with Nana.
"Come on, hurry up, Miss Bella, remember it's your birthday soon. Didn't you promise to Nana be an obedient child?" The maidservant gently stroked Isabella's hair.
I was forced to get out of bed straight away, wearing pink fur sandals with a cute cow nose motif.
"Ah... Alright, so I have to stay in school, huh?" I replied lazily. Stretching the muscles in my hand that felt stiff.
Isabella Mahendra, that's me. A thirteen-year-old girl, I'm currently in eighth grade. My life can be said to be perfect, not lacking anything materially.
All I need is a lot, even excessive the wealth of the Mahendra Family. But all of the things, I don't need.
Because all I need is, Nana.
"Yes, Only my Nana."
Nana is the beloved nickname I gave to my grandmother. She is the only one who cares about my life. My reason to survive in this hell house.
She's the only one I think of as my parent, rather than my father.
I hated that man so much! He was handsome and smart. But he had a cruel heart and an attitude as cold as the Himalayan glaciers.
The image of David Mahendra's figure was already in front of Isabella.
"Hahh... get out of my sight!" I shouted annoyed. Because the image of my father's face just appeared.
So that I had to wave my hands in the air, I bent my face annoyed as I entered the bathroom.
After finishing showering and putting on my school uniform, I immediately ran out of the room.
Passing through the door of my father's room which was still tightly closed, I could faintly hear him talking to someone.
"Huh! Why should I know about him?" I said curtly at the closed door.
I quickly descended the stairs, holding the two ribbons tightly. And finally, I could find Nana's figure. She was sitting in a rocking chair.
Immediately I hugged Nana. She gives hugged, with a tight hug.
Nana's distinctive body odor is so pleasant. It feels comfortable and warm.
"Nana... Good morning, you look beautiful today," cheers me with affection.
"Oh, look at my beautiful granddaughter. What are you carrying?" Nana asked with a wrinkled smile that seemed sweet on her old face.
"Beautiful ribbons, and can you choose for me, Nana? Which do you think is better? Is this pink or this pink?" I asked, showing two ribbons that were almost the same color.
Nana smiled broadly, chose one of them, and began to attach it to my long hair.
In between my exciting conversation with Nana, I saw the man walking past us.
David gives a cynical look and utters words that are inappropriate for me to hear.
Luckily I didn't hear what he said. Because Nana had already covered my ears.
Father?
That one sentence made me so angry.
Why does such a cruel man hate me so much? Even grandpa isn't cruel to me, unlike dad? Why?
Cry? Me? Hahaha... NO!
I no longer have to cry over what he has done to me.
I know that it will all be in vain. The more I looked miserable, the happier the man was.
I hardly ever feel a father's love, and I?
I DO NOT CARE!
Felix. As usual, take me to school. My driver and personal bodyguard were friendly people and always tried to protect me.
It all started when my friends started bullying me, it was Mother's Day and only Nana was there.
I was annoyed with those who whispered badmouthing about Nana. Immediately I made an appropriate reply.
A fight with some students. This caused my father to come to school and see the principal.
The man was furious, not because of what I had done! But, because I've wasted his precious time.
"I REALLY HATE HIM! I WISH DAD GO TO HELL!"
I feel God is unfair. Why should he! WHY HE? Became my father?
I will give up the wealth that I have as long as I can get rid of my father, the man I hate so much.
But...
God did not hear my prayer, Because I was still in my dark life.
Since the fight at school, my father decided to be able to keep an eye on me through someone named Felix.
The man who was about twenty-six years old, always there wherever I was - well... except in my bedroom.
My father threatened me when I did anything else! He would not hesitate to put me in a special dormitory for bad girls.
"Arrgggggh!!!!"
I hit my desk hard. The students sitting not far beside me looked surprised and confused.
"Bella, what are you doing? You're having no trouble answering questions, are you?" asked a student almost in a whisper.
Ethan, he's the only friend I have at this school.
Or rather, he was the only one who dared to approach me.
What about the other students? Ahh, They're too scared because I already have a bodyguard.
This thing annoyed me even more. All my movements were limited because Felix was watching me too much.
"Ethan? Are you done with your exam? Don't talk to your friends!" Sam, a young, single biology teacher.
He commemorated with a friendly smile, which he aimed at us.
"Don't mind me anymore! I'm fine, Ethan!" I said very slowly and looked back at the exam paper.
"Shall we study together later, Bella?" Ethan was already approaching me when exam time was over.
I just replied with a bland smile and put all the books in my bag.
"You don't see? I can't go anywhere! Well, unless you dare with Felix, do you dare?" I asked sharply.
"Mmm... He doesn't eat humans, does he?" Ethan asked back. I immediately laughed at what Ethan just said.
"I have an appointment with Nana. Sorry, I can't seem to do it today," I said when I finished tidying up all the stationery.
"Ok, let me know when you are free. You can text me when you get home, ok!" Said Ethan, hopefully.
In the afternoon, I went home and arrived early. Without thinking immediately looked for Nana's figure.
After going around looking for Nana, I found her in the backyard.
Nana sitting holding a photo frame, immediately greeted I tried to peek.
It turned out to be a photo of Grandpa, and I saw Nana had tears in her eyes.
"Nana? Is Nana sad? Don't be sad. Because I'm here." I said and immediately hugged her.
"Ahhh... Bella? Nana doesn't know you're home?" She gently stroked my back.
"Remember, because there's still me ... and I only have you, Nana. Please, don't make me sad." I said back.
"Yes, Bella, I promised not to be sad again," she replied in a low voice.
That afternoon I felt comfortable in Nana's arms, but why do feelings of anxiety keep filling my heart.
It was as if Nana was bidding me farewell for good.
