'I don't know Rose. I'm trying, but don't break, please.'
'Brooks, I'm already broken. He wants me to go, and I agree that it will be best for everyone.''Well, believe me when I say that I'm prepared to speak with him if it's all about that fucking news. We have the evidence to show that I am right.'
'His current hostility exceeds my expectations. That time, Laura did a good job.'
'Rose, she's playing with you once more.'
'Just let me leave, Brooks.'
We had our final talk late one night after I informed him of my choice. He keeps trying to talk me out of leaving, but it's the best thing for both of us. I'm currently outside Ronald's office and would like to enter, but my emotions are at odds with one another. Early in the morning, so he might or might not be in his office. I'm not sure why I arrived here so early.
The sound of thunder jolts me back to reality. Rose, who leads a humble life, is who I came here as today. I set the raincoat aside and stepped into the structure. Everything seems very barren. No workers, no voice. He's at his office; I know that. My body sensed a presence. I briefly hold my breath before pressing the button to enter the elevator. Everything comes to a stop as the door opens. Slowly, my heavy feet begin to move. This is my final visit to this office. Once more, I'll miss them. Ronald, how about him? When he saw me, he detested me. He still has the same hatred for me that he had when he first saw me here. He hasn't changed an inch, so I should let him live his life on his own.
I open the door while inhaling deeply and unsteadily. Still, it was the same as when I left last night. All of that is on the ground. My reputation as well as my emotions. In business attire, he is dozing off on a bed with a sizable bottle half-empty nearby. When did he cease to be in the office? I lean against the bed and take a seat. He appears to be very adorable and lovely. Never assume Ronald is the world's most attractive man. One day, the girl's smile was broken by the little child's adorable smile. I feel it with my fingers. When I play with his hair, he groans and calls for me.
"Ronald, look at us; we're so close yet so far apart. We need each other but are unable to. I made an effort to stay out of your life, but either we're connected, or I... We reconnected for an unknown reason. I need time to prove myself to you and Jessie since you think I'm horrible for you and her. You have every right to be aware of who you are, Jessie, and when the time comes, I'll be the first to embrace you. Ronald, I will always love you. Count on me, Ronald. You are capable of leading a quiet existence." He was cleaning his office when I left him to go to sleep.
I set up his desk while throwing things in the garbage. I left the room after setting the resignation letter on his desk and shutting the door behind me.
I put on a raincoat as soon as I exited the elevator and began to walk. I need to consider my new life right now. Because I am short on time, the first thing I do when I get home is begin packing. But then I started to hear my phone ring repeatedly. On it, Ronald's name was flashing. Despite his calls, I haven't answered mine.
Why? What you desire is this: My life did change when I ran into him again, just as I had anticipated when I started my job. The most highly prized bachelor in New York is my charming Ronald. Females who came to meet him frequently questioned how I maintained composure around him. When two people are in love, they always consider others' sentiments. He doesn't feel the same way about me. He has changed, and he is in error here.
He throws my possessions away after using his only item. His favorite candy when he enjoys eating by himself is his cologne. His preferred ties and pens. I also stole his belongings, not just our moments. Jessie's voice is on the phone when I hear it. I grabbed it right away.
"Hello, Jess," I say.
"How are you, Rose?"
"Jess, please let me know how you're doing. I hear..."
"Baby, I'm fine. Fine. Look, I am aware that Ronald is the one who prevented you from coming here today. God, I hate tears when they come when I'm happy."
"It's alright, but your baby..."
"Well, listen, dad wants to meet you; come for dinner today. You'll also get to know my husband. Will you be there or not?" Assuming Ronald is aware that I'll be at dinner, that is. He already hates me, and now that I've resigned, he's much angrier.
"Don't worry if you're thinking about Ronald; I can handle him."
"Sure, I'll be there."
"I'm waiting. Good. I adore you."
"Be careful." Without hearing what I had to say, she happily hung up the phone. After leaving my suitcase there, I went shopping for flowers for Jessie. She loves me, which is Roses. Between my phone ringing nonstop and my heart skipping a beat at every moment, He seems to be waiting for me to take action all the time. He is watching for another break from me.
Why am I so afraid to consider his response? It's best for me if I avoid him. I therefore spend my time outdoors in parks and on the streets. Why am I having such awful feelings right now, as though something worse is about to occur? Perhaps my fear is related to my resignation.
When night fell, I bought some flowers and used my last dollar to buy a bottle of champagne for them. Going without anything is bad. Dad does indeed teach me a valuable lesson. My foot suddenly stopped when the cab driver dropped me out in front of her building. Ronald's car is outside with Theo. Is he there? Oh gosh. My serene, chilly body begins to perspire once more. The fear that I had before is resurfacing inside of me. I ignored him and hurried inside the elevator. The door opened five minutes later, and my breathing shifted. Gosh, the atmosphere is so tense because I can't get enough of his smell. He is close to me. Lightly stepping...
"Well, Miss Rose, you're here." In Ronald's voice, I leaped. Worry and pain are combined with rage and fury. He has unkempt hair, a black t-shirt, and jeans on. Stop. He appeared so different, wow. He is holding a glass while leaning against the wall.
"H.. h."
"You're trembling." Really? He was far away and noticed me.
"Well, I mean, it's freezing outdoors," I say. He's giving me such anxiety. This aura was incredibly unique and potent.
"You're lying."
"No." By adopting a certain position, my body is attempting to convey confidence to him.
"Thus, you have time to come here rather than pick up my phone. You're not at your desk. We'll discuss later, but right now, Jess, your guest is here." He called her name and approached. My grip on the bottle is firm, and I can feel his power affecting me. Why do I feel so cold all of a sudden? We are still maintaining eye contact. His deep emerald eyes hold me fast.
"I appreciate the bottle." He removed the bottle from my hands and left. What? Absent without a trace. It appears that he was still unaware of the resignation. He is in the dark. Indeed, it is the reason he is speaking to me so calmly. Shit! That's scarier.
"You did."
"Jess." When I hear Jessie, my heart melts. She appears awful with one cheek swallowed, but makeup has them well covered.
"How are you, Jess?" She took off, running, and landed in my arms. Stop crying. Yet the tears always well up in my eyes.
"I'm good. You must explain what took place to you and your face."
"Horrible. Thank God, someone finally told her how awful she now looks." My sentence was finished by a handsome man.
"You.."
"Pardon me! I'd like to say hello. Sebastian Brooks here." My mouth moves back and forth. I recognize this face.
"You're... I'm saying you're."
"Don't say you met my brother." He replied. Brooks?
"We have not met; however, she stayed with your brother for one night. She blew off your brother. Jessie, have you not read the newspaper today? Your brother and friend are featured on the first page with sexy headlines and images." Good now; this is my first impression of Jessie's husband. Sebastian grinned at me despite the horror in my face.
"Ronald, stop. Let's ignore him and enter Rose."
"For you." She sniffs the roses I'm holding in my hands.
"I love roses." Jessie drags me along, but I can tell that she is not aware of us. Ronald came in after us. Jessie takes me to the living room, where I was so happy that all the walls fell down. Ronald's father is seated.
"Dad! Who's that coming?"
"Rose." He has a wrinkled face, but, my goodness, he still has the same fatherly appearance. He's very important to me. He reminds me of my dad.
"Good day, Mr. Carlo." He's at home. He's the second person I worship, after my father.
"Just Carlo."
"Hey, baby." A female is standing in front of us, half-naked, as we all turn in response to the voice.
"God no."
