Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo" Accelerator murmured as he stared at the Mayuri's bankai. "The Golden Leg Cutter...keh, what are you going to do? Make the giant creepy catepillar eat me?"
"Why of course not.." said Mayuri with a devious smile. "Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo's abilities obviously cannot affect your kind of powers. However, as I can see, you're the only one here with the power to influence vectors."
Accelerator's eyes widened as he turned his head to the other building's roof, where Nicole still lay, paralyzed.
"No...you wouldn't.."
"Seriously.." sighed Mayuri. "Haven't you learned anything about me? Tsk tsk tsk.."
Immediately Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo swelled up it's yellow skinned cheeks and exhaled a massive amount of purple mist, obscuring the entire area. The mist parted around Accelerator thanks to his vector deflection..he turned to try and launch himself over to Nicole...but it was too late..the mist was already covering her.
"Ashisogi Jizo's poison means death to any who breathe it except me of course." said Mayuri. "Don't worry, your girl still has time...however, I believe her final moments will be quite excruciating."
"You freakin' bastard!" Accelerator growled, his black wings burst and exploded in the wind as the esper's terrible rage grew. "You give her the antidote!!"
Mayuri tilted his head to the side, his eyes each looked at opposite ends of his face like a chameleon as he stuck out his tongue. "Mmmm? I'm sorry..but I'm not exactly one for this kind of mercy..unless you agree to be my test subject?"
Accelerator screamed out in fury and his wings seperated into explosive windy tendrils which tore along the ground, letting rubble fly like bullets at Mayuri.
Mayuri flash stepped away and sighed...."Oh well, guess I'll just kill the girl a little more quickly then, especially considering your unwillingness to cooperate..."
Suddenly, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo sprouted a mass of blades from it's chest and arched it's caterpillar body over Accelerator, aiming to impale Nicole on the other roof with it's blades.
"DAMN YOU!!!" Accelerator roared as his wings spread wide and he launched into the air, and rammed his fist into Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo's belly.
The bankai monster wheezed in pain, stopping right before impaling Nicole and shooting up into the sky.
The moment before the giant baby headed worm reached the ground. Accelerator shot through it's face, ripping a hole all the way through the worm until he exploded into a surprised Mayuri with tremendous force.
As Ashisogi Jizo fell into liquid ground with a splash, Accelerator stood up and looked at Mayuri behind him, who now had a massive hole in his body.
"D-damn..." said Mayuri shakily. "Damn.."
Mayuri took his sword, which had returned to it's sealed form, and stabbed himself. Instantly Mayuri melted away into a green liquid substance which began to ooze away. "How silly...you actually forced me into this state...just like that idiot Quincy from before....heh..no matter..by stabbing my blade into my body, I am able to assume liquid form and become impossible to harm or maim...it looks like I'll need a couple of days to fully heal...so long, Accelerator, you were truly an interesting experiment to watch."
Accelerator jumped over to Nicole and knealt next to her. "How are you feeling?"
"Cold.." said Nicole. "I think I'm dying..."
"Don't say that.." said Accelerator looking for an open wound. "If it's poison, then it's in your bloodstream...all I need to do is find that cut you have and...siphon it out somehow.."
"Excuse me.."
Accelerator gave a start and looked to see that Nemu, Mayuri's liutenant, was crawling tiredly over the side of the roof, looking quite battered from being swept away by the liquid ground. "I have the antidote with me right here.."
Accelerator paused slightly before speaking. "Why are you helping us?"
"Well...you could have killed my Captain Mayuri." said Nemu. "But you didn't..for that I am grateful."
"Keh!" Spat Accelerator. "Are you kidding? The only reason he isn't dead is because of that liquid body of his!!"
"Yes...but had you taken out his head." said Nemu. "Then he would have surely died immediately."
Nemu held out a small vile of liquid to Accelerator, which he took. "How can you love such a man? He's worse then a lot scientists I've known..and I've seen some terrible ones."
"He created me." said Nemu. "I am grateful to him.."
"Heh.." said Accelerator as he poured the liquid into Nicole's mouth. "Just because someone's your dad, doesn't mean they have the right to push you around.. So you said his name was Mayuri..weird, that name sounds familiar."
"In the World of The Living, he takes the guise of Professor Mayuri in the fields of undiscovered technologies and biological fundamentals." said Nemu. "20 years ago, he wrote the theory on leveling that allowed the one known as Black Whisper to reach level 5 before his dissapearence. He then spent years gathering data on hundreds of other powerful espers ranging from level 4s to the other level 5s that appeared briefly after Black Whisper's debut...Impulser, Eolas, you.."
"Haven't ever heard of Eolas or Impulser." muttered Accelerator. "Whatever happened to them?"
"The dark side of Academy City overcame them." said Nemu. "But listen to me...if you plan on escaping Yugami Town with Railgun, you must do it quickly.."
"Eh?" said Accelerator. "Why?"
"The Soul Society is currently in a state of emergency.." said Nemu. "The rumors are that the dark god Asgawrath has awakened."
"Asgawrath!?" exclaimed Nicole. "But that's impossible!! He's a myth!!"
"Dravis was also a myth.." said Nemu. "And according to myth, Asgawrath was his creator. However, one thing you must know...whatever you know about Yugami town..isn't the entire truth.."
"What do you mean?"
"Yugami town wasn't created to hold those that should not have survived...rather it is used to hold those that it would have been preferable not to survive." said Nemu. "That myth about those who survive death and get thrown into the Soul Society was a false leak of information sent by my Captain. In reality, it is meant to hold dangerous individuals to the multiverse, individuals whom could affect the fate of everything on all planes of existance. So the Soul Reapers find oppertunities like when Misaka was thought to be dead...to spirit them away to this town to hold them.."
"That can't be true!!" Nicole exclaimed. "Mikoto isn't dangerous!!"
"The rumor is...after Asgawrath's ultimate creation Dravis was defeated..." said Nemu. "That he took interest in Railgun...that's all I know..any more information would be with the Captains..and one other.."
"Who?" said Nicole.
"An individual named Othinus." said Nemu.
Accelerator shook his head. "That's impossible."
Nicole looked at Accelerator. "You know this Othinus?"
"She's long gone." said Accelerator. "The only one who even knows what truly happened to her was Touma Kamijou...and that idiot doesn't seem keen on sharing the subject whenever I ask him about it."
But Accelerator was wrong and right at the same time...true, Touma Kamijou was one of the only people who knew what happened to The Magic God Othinus...but she wasn't exactly gone...

Mikoto was in pain...of course the steady stream of returning memories told her this wasn't new. But she wished the memory would take it's time rather then rush through her head all at once. She was sitting in the clock tower, clutching her head as Erza stood gaurd next to the main window of the tower.
Lucy and Natsu, Happy, and Elli had also began to slowly regain their memories...but they showed no sign of pain..why?
"Maybe it's because you're an esper." said Natsu scratching his chin. "It would affect your brain right?"
"Urrrgghh...rrrggggghh." was Mikoto's only response as some sparks jumped from her bangs.
"Neh..." Wendy looked bewildered. "I-I've tried everything, but I can't reduce the pain.."
"You can only do so much Wendy." said Charle. "You'll exhaust yourself this way."
"Wait.." said Natsu. "you smell that?"
"Smell what?" said Erza. "Natsu..you may not remember but.."
"Dragons have a keen sense of smell?" said Natsu. "Don't you worry..I remember..a bit..heh..it smells like a person...and hmmm...with an real lack of hair.."
"Lack of hair?" said Lucy with confusion.
Suddenly the door of the clock tower room was kicked open, and Ikkaku burst through, part of his kimono looked torn from his fight with Gajeel. "LUCKY!!!!"
"AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Mikoto, Wendy and Charle screamed. "IT'S THE BALD GUY!!!!"
"Oh!" said Natsu cheerfully. "It's a bald guy! Man his head is shiny!"
A vein throbbed on Ikkaku's shiney shiney head. "I'll overlook that freaking insult..at least until after I beat you all..man! Some awesome people to fight all in one place! Lucky!!"
Ikkaku began to do his lucky dance on the spot. "LululululululuLUCKY!!!! LulululululuLUCKY!!"
"WHAM!!!" Erza hammered over Ikkaku's head with her fist, and Ikkaku fell to the ground, out cold.2
"I don't see how that's lucky." said Mikoto as she gritted her teeth in pain.
"Shiney..." said Happy as he shielded his eyes from the bright flashing light reflecting off of Ikkaku's head.
"He might be useful." said Erza. "We can use him to obtain information about the gaurdians who gaurd this island.."
"Gaurdians?" asked Lucy.
"When we came to Soul Island..we first came to the outskirts right around the spiritual barrier that blocks it." said Erza. "Touma was able easily deactivate that with Imagine Breaker."
TOUMA!!! Mikoto's memory throbbed at the name, but she continued to listen.
"We actually came in to this dimension just past where the gaurdians stand." said Erza. "From what we heard..they are demons that were killed in a recent war two years ago and were brought back as imprisoned gaurds to Soul Island...if we want to find a way out of here, we'll have to get past them."1
"Do you know anything about the gaurdians?" Lucy asked.
"They call themselves the Espada." said Erza. "Not all of them were brought back though..from what I understand..the Research division of those Soul Reapers only brought back 4 of them. However, that's not the only problem that faces us."1
Erza gave Mikoto a serious look. "Diablo Etwatia's been sighted wandering the area around this dimension."
One again, the flashing image of the demonic hulking armored figure flashed across Mikoto's mind. "H-him?"
Erza nodded. "Even with only one arm now...I doubt he's that much less powerful then when you first faced him. It's been a long 6 months Mikoto, Hydra Head has disbanded since you 5 went missing, but some of it's members are still active, scattered across both our dimensions..and Diablo is no exception."
"What's the big deal?" asked Natsu. "We'll just punch him until he gives up!"
"Natsu...the last time you tried to punch Diablo, he beat you up with one finger and proceeded to stomp on Mikoto's ribs!" said Charle. "Don't tell me you haven't remembered Fulmen yet!"
"I remember Fulmen!" said Natsu. "I pretended to be Bane!!!"
"Your memory still has a ways to go.." Erza said with a sigh. "Anyways..the rumor is that he is searching for someone named Othinus."
Mikoto froze up. "Othinus...I know that name..."
The others looked at Mikoto with surprise. "Really!?"
"I-I can't remember..." said Mikoto shaking her head. "The memory is barely even coming back on that one..it happened a year ago...I think...World War 4...Gungir..GREMLIN...other stuff..that's all I can get. Sorry."2
Erza looked pensive. "GREMLIN...If I recall, that's a magic terrorist group that was disbanded a year ago. I don't know much on the subject."
"I'm sorry." said Mikoto. "If it wasn't for the stupid amnesia..I'd probably be able help.."
"Don't blame yourself.." said Natsu. "Blame those stupid Soul Reapers or whatever they are...jeez, I wonder how they came up with that stupid idea that living people in some world for ghosts would disrupt the multiverse?"
"They probably did their research." said Erza.
"Whose the guy that told you about where we were anyways?" said Lucy.
"A boy by the name of Ichigo Kurosaki." said Erza. "He didn't come with us...he said there were things he had to take care of back in our dimension.. I don't know if he can be trusted..but so far, he's led us on the straight path."
Mikoto suddenly let out a scream, her head was hurting like a million fireworks. She held her head tightly and began convulsing on the ground.
"Mikoto!!" Erza shouted. "MIKOTO!!"
Mikoto blacked out.
She was standing on a dark mountain overlooking a swirling vortex. The rocks on which she stood were black as oil, it's slimey greasey smell gave the impression of the worst things imaginable. Mikoto could only stand so much of it...and though she knew this must be a dream, the smell and feel were so real, she began to feel fearful that something was lurking around in the dark...clawing over to feast on her flesh. Perhaps that large dragon she had seen from her nightmares..
"Dravis will harm you no more...you are safe from him...but not his master."
Mikoto looked back to see a girl that looked around her age with an odd looking eyepatch, an emerald green slitted eye, extremely revealing clothing and a large cape and a hat that resembled a pointed witch's hat.
"I've seen you somewhere before.." Mikoto said. "I have..."
The girl nodded. "You need not worry...I no longer have the power to be a threat to anyone. Though in this dream I may still have power...In the real world...I am but a small immortal...GREMLIN no longer exists to do my bidding...and I no longer wish to remake the Universe like I did for a brief moment...to torment Touma Kamijou..."
Mikoto looked at the girl for a minute. "You seriously need better clothes."
The girl smiled slightly. "Hmm...a much better response then trying to shock me with a billion volts...I think I like your amnesiac self a little more then the one that tried so hard with Birdway and Index to blow me to bits.. Anyhow..I have come to warn you..a foe much more powerful then even I was with the Lance of Gungir is approaching...he created Dravis...and yet it only took 30 percent of his power to do so...Asgawrath is awake, and he has taken a large interest in you. This time, there is no prophecy to predict the outcome."1
Another voice then spoke from behind Mikoto. "And no prophecies shall ever come afterwords..should this dark diety fall upon the multiverse.."
Mikoto whirled around to see a black haired youthful looking boy in black and white robes with red eyes. The dark wizard Zeref.
"Othinus speaks wisely Railgun." said Zeref. "And not even the Soul Reapers will be able to stop it..even if they detain you in Yugami Town. As Dravis once said...A darkness is coming..a darkness even darker and colder then he or I.."
"Esper, Mage, Soul Reaper, Arrancar..." said Othinus. "All these divisions will matter naught if he comes...not unless all these can learn to stand as one..."
Finally another voice came out from in front of Mikoto as a familiar hulking armored figure rose from a pool of magma that hand just formed there...at the moment, part of his armor was cracked and broken where his arm had been blown off.
"Heed the warning Mikoto Misaka." said Diablo Etwatia. "I tried to hold the darkness back with darkness in turn...but I failed...now the only choice is light..seek my brother Angelus in the Sereitei. Though he is dead...in this world..the dead still live...and the dead's council you will require..."
"Remember your power." said Zeref.
"Hold your friends close." said Diablo.
"And above all.." said Othinus with a finality. "Good luck."
R.I.F.T. Trivia.
1. Diablo Etwatia has many titles. His most known title is The Demon Emperor. It is said he earned this title on his home planet when he slew a god-like hollow known as the Vasto Lord Emperor. The best way to defeat Diablo is with brute force, as magic that bends physics and natural laws such as the magic that Necessarius uses...or even the magic that Othinus uses herself have very low effect on Diablo's nature. And considering Diablo's already amazing physique and endurance, it is one of the reasons that no mage has ever been able to defeat him without outside help. (And Mikoto and Zeref are the only mages to ever defeat him.) Diablo wasn't the most powerful of his race though.. The ruler of his planet, Supremos Raxian, was the most powerful, able to demolish entire planets with a mere thought. Diablo defeated Supremos through trickery and using Supremos's pride against him.
2.Othinus was the main antagonist for Toaru Majutsu No Index: New Testament. She was a powerful being of magic, having started the legends of the god Odin from Norse Mythology. She succeeded in creating the staff of Gungnir and destroyed the entire Universe except for herself and Touma. She then created several new Universes soley designed to break Touma's spirit..however, Touma defeated her after 10,0031 repeated fights, and she returned the original Universe..where Touma sought to protect her and then make her a normal mortal so that she could see the beauty of living a normal life. Eventually her power was drained, however, Index and Touma are the only ones who know she is still alive. Othinus was the leader of the magic terrorist group known as GREMLIN.
3. In earlier years, Othinus and Mavis used to speak with one another and provide philisophical arguments on why the Universe should be remade and why it should remain as it was. While Mavis won most of these debates...Othinus was not much of a listener at that time.
