Ichigo Kurosaki: "They are still alive"
6 months later.
"Hmm...which to get.." At district 7 of Academy City, in the School Gardens, a red haired woman wearing armor was looking at cakes in a shop window. This wasn't an unusual sight, the residents of Academy City had gotten used to Erza Scarlet coming to her favorite cake bakery every tuesday, lookinf for a strawberry cheesecake. However, this time, she had a stroller next to her. In the stroller was a cute baby with electric blue eyes and chestnut brown hair. If one looked closely at the baby, they would have seen bright little sparks jumping from her hair.
"Which do you think I should pick Little Lucy?" Erza asked, winking at the small child.
Little Lucy just clapped her hands together and said one of the few words she had learned rather quickly, especially given her extremely young age. "Ertha...Ertha..."
"But there is no cake named after me." said Erza. "Hmm..but.."
Erza looked down the row of cakes and spotted one with the red Fairy Tail insignia on it. It was a memorial cake that had been made in tribute to the 5 brave Fairy Tail members that had sacrificied themselves to save the entire multiverse.
4 gravestones had been erected in the center of Magnolia Town's square. While their bodies had never been recovered, everyone assumed they were dead. Everyone, however, except Erza, Gray, Wendy, Nicole, Charle, and Touma.3
They weren't being delusional. It was more as if some small voice inside their chests were telling them. Telling them that somewhere out there, their friends were still living.
Erza had once caught Touma standing next to Mikoto's gravestone, looking at the mass of flowers that had accumulated there. The gravestone's inscription said. "May love shine on you wherever you go. Mikoto Misaka, a true hero...and a member of Fairy Tail."
"I don't know.." Touma had said. "I feel, maybe if she was dead..I would know..I'd feel it. This right hand doesn't negate everything...I still feel...life.."
The 6 months had all been rather hard on the guild. Mira wasn't as cheerful as she normally was..and Elfman wasn't his usual rambunctious self. Saying "man" only halfheartidly. Lucy's empty house had been bought and paid for by Markarov, who felt, that it shouldn't have to be taken away because of overdue rent by somebody who wasn't coming back. Levy could sometimes be seen holding Lucy's unfinished book, wondering if she should or shouldn't read it.
However the greatest change was seen in Accelerator. He had been handed a letter a day after the destruction of Dravis by none other then Kanzaki. It was a letter from Nicole.
When he opened it, nobody knew what it said..but after that, Accelerator had walked right into the guild hall and kissed Nicole right on the lips. It was a happy thing that helped distract everyone from their grief. And of course there was Little Lucy, Mikoto's little sister, whom the guild would help babysit when Misuzu and Tabigake were not arround was like a ray of sunshine..1
Erza picked out the memorial cake, and after it had been bagged and the stroller's storage compartment (no kidding, they have those in strollers), Erza walked down the street, pushing baby Misaka in her stroller.
As Erza continued down the street, a boy with orange hair who looked around 17 started to follow Erza. Some of the students began to whisper to one another. They had never seen anybody like that around Academy City before, and the boy looked rather tall and fit..not to mention like he could be a delinquent of some sort.
But nobody raised a finger to help. Not because they didn't want to, but because they knew Erza could probably punch that guy through several buildings if she wanted to.
The boy continued to follow Erza all through town as she ran errands. He followed her into the supermarket when she was buying baby food for Little Lucy. He followed her into a magic shop that had recently opened in Academy City while she looked for any new sets of armor or magic weapons.
Eventually, Erza turned a corner, and noticing that he had lost sight of her, the boy ran as fast as he could to where he had lost sight of Erza.
The moment he turned a corner though, an armored hand grabbed him by the shirt collar and slammed him against the wall. Erza pointed her sword at the boy's throat. "I'll make this brief...why are you following me?"
"Whoah.." said the boy. "Quick reflexes. You're pretty good..usually I would've seen that coming..specially with my dad ambushing me every day of the week."
"I won't repeat myself." Erza growled. "Why are you following me? Are you from Skill-out? This isn't the first time Jackal's tried to capture Lucy here.."
"I'm not here to kidnap anyone." the boy said calmly. "Actually, I'm here to help you save somebody."
"What are you talking about?"
The boy took a deep breath. "Mikoto Misaka...and the others...they're still alive...and I know where they are."
Erza felt a deep shock run through her spine. She would've thought this boy was a liar..some sort of cheap scammer...but something in her told her this wasn't some scam. "How do you know this?"
"I'm what you might call, in the know how, when it comes to dead things." said the boy. "I know all about hollows..ghosts...heck I've seen ghosts ever since I was little..your friend Nicole Mavros, even she only knows so much about death. And I can tell you now, your friends...they aren't dead..but they aren't in this world either."
"Then where are they!?" Erza shouted. "And who are you!?"
"If you'll just get your guild together and let me explain." said the boy. "Then I'll tell you. And as for my name...you can call me Ichigo...Ichigo Kurosaki."
