"But." Mikoto began.
"WHAM!!" A gaurd punched Mikoto again. "Shaddup! Didn't you hear? She said no more questions!"
The group made their way to what appeared to be a stairway going up to a levitating metal platform with a metal bar fence surrounding it. They stepped in, and the platform shot into the city, making a humming noise as it sped around the skyscrapers with little effort.
As Mikoto looked around, she could definitely this wasn't the District Seven she knew. Every street was made of a chrome like metal. Hovering high tech mechs and tanks flew throught the streets below, and large tv screens were on almost every tallest building, blaring out. "Remember, The Psychic Supreme provides everything to you! Give back to the man who makes all things possible by pledging your service."
"Why this isn't dictator propaganda or anything.." Mikoto muttered sarcastically.
One of the guards raised his fist. Mikoto ducked the punch. "Okay, okay, shutting up now, yeesh."
Finally the platform lowered itself next to a large dome-like building that had a sign on it saying, 'Danger, Biological Research Contain Dangerous Specimens, Enter With Extreme Caution."
"Come with us." said Mikaris as she led the way to the building.
Like you think I have a choice, Mikoto thought in her head. Now that she thought about it, she could always just break her cuffs and run for it now. But, she was curious about the whole Science Bureau. She had a feeling that the experiments held here weren't exactly humane, if she got on the inside, she could destroy the place and whatever horrors they were working on in here.
Mikoto regretted her decision the moment she entered the rotating doors. Because the moment she came through, her cuffs were torn off by a mechanical arm and then replaced with some large metalic cuffs that went all the way up her forearms.
"These cuffs are designed to negate both esper abilities and magic." said Mikaris. "We expected you would probably allow yourself to be taken prisoner so you infiltrate the city. The cuffs Meribeth used on your friends are only either designed specifically for magic, or esper powers, they can't negate both. You probably thought that if you kept up the powerless ruse long enough we would lead you to some place important you could destroy...but no matter, we've solved that little issue.
Dang! thought Mikoto. She might not have known the cuffs were actually a fake, but she was really smart. Mikoto remembered something about her Edolas self being an extremely able strategist.
"What's the matter girly?" taunted a gaurd. "You're not looking so brave now..."
"I would prefer to refrain from teasing the experiments." said Mikaris. "It's pointless and wastes time."
"S-sorry Ma'am!" said the gaurd hastilly. "Won't happen again Ma'am!"
"I believe the electro spears will work now by the way." said Mikaris.
One of the gaurds prodded Mikoto's back with his electro spear, and Mikoto felt a painful shocking sensation and yelped. That was not a feeling she was familiar with.
The halls of the Biological Sciences Division were narrow and completely white, Mikoto could smell disinfectant in the air. It was like walking through a high tech hospital.
Mikaris stopped at a door and pressed a few buttons on the side of the sliding door. There was a hissing sound as the door slid open and Mikoto was forced into the room by the gaurds as Mikaris entered after her. The door closed, leaving Mikoto and Mikaris alone in the room.
Mikoto looked up, and felt her body temperature drop as she saw the metal table in the center and all the lethal looking tools on mechanical arms that surrounded it, silent and ominous, but soon to be running with deadly purpose.
"Oh God no.." whispered Mikoto as Mikaris took her arm with her mech glove and forced Mikoto onto the table. The cuffs came off onto the floor and Mikoto attempted get up, her bangs sparking fearfully. But suddenly restraints activated and latched her arms, legs and neck to the table.
"Don't worry," said Mikaris as she took her mech glove off and began washing her hands in a sink nearby. "The first part only hurts for about 2 hours...then you won't feel much of anything...in your body that is, because after that are the psychological tests. While the pain you'll feel won't be physical then, I recommend you contact a proffesional to look at your mental health afterwords."
"God no!! NO!!" Mikoto struggled as two buzz saws on some of the mechanical arms came to life and began whirring closer to her.
Suddenly, the metal table seemed to tear apart, as Mikoto's giant Thunder Dragon Wings burst to life and turned into spear-like tendrils which ripped through the buzz saws as if they were made of paper.
"WHAT!?" said Mikaris, her bangs sparked in surprise. "But the table should have negated that...unless...they were sabotaged!"
"Very good.." said a familiar voice. "I'm glad you figured that out so quickly."
The door to the room slid open to reveal none other then Leivinia Birdway, leader of the Dawn Colored Sunlight cabal.
"Leivess!?" said Mikaris in shock.
"No, actually I'm Leivinia." said the twelve year old girl, looking amused as she walked in twirling her wand casually. "It's nice to know I have an Edolas me though, I must meet her some time."
"My men.." said Mikaris.
"Oh, they were easy to take care of." said Birdway. "Seriously? You call them soldiers? The moment I announced my Magic Name was Regnum 771, they just laughed and said, ' run along little girl'. How sad, and I thought they were heartless killing machines...turns out they're wimps."
Mikaris engulfed her hands in lightning. "So you wish to fight me? I warn you, I'm far more powerful then you would expect."
"Yes, the A.E.A enhances your abilities to about equal to that of Mikoto Misaka when she's in Dragon Slayer mode.." said Birdway. "Which I believe she's in right now..."
Mikoto ripped herself from the restraints and sat up, puffing up her cheeks as her wings filled the entire room. "ROAR OF THE THUNDER DRAGON!!!"
A massive beam of lightning blasted out of Mikoto's mouth and smashed Mikaris against the highly durable walls. Mikaris tore herself from the large metal dent in the wall and raised her hand, preparing to launch a deadly counter attack, but Birdway and Mikoto had already gone from the room.
"Fools..." muttered Mikaris. "They think they can escape me?! Well they'll see."
Mikaris took a white circular communicator from her waste and spoke into it. "Erza, call them in, we're sealing off the Biological Sciences area, we have some rogue Earthlanders..."
