Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Would you like to give me a try?

Louise frowned as he stared at JC who smiled confidently as if the world was at his feet. She had a feeling that meeting him before was no coincidence. A man like this paying attention to her? Louise wasn't the type a man would want to be a girlfriend, especially when she was in a fight the first time they met.

Also, JC wasn't an ordinary man, she was sure of that. The way he moved had a grace and charm of nobility and danger... Well, it would be so attractive to women especially to women like her. If Axel wasn't around, she might have considered playing along with JC.

She sighed, leaned on her chair, staring straight at his face. Their gazes locked, and JC pressed his palm against his chin, leaning on the table. A grin still displayed on his very handsome, drool-worthy face.

Without noticing, she tugged at the neckline of her shirt, exposing her the white cleavage below, then, she flicked her hair. She was uncomfortable as she could feel women eyeing her despite the cover of the big palm trees on their sides, giving them a bit of privacy in this cozy restaurant.

The place was a restaurant and bar where the elites and white-collar employees hang out. This place was a mix of elegance and wild. Tables were appropriately set apart, and you couldn't hear the conversation on other tables if they weren't shouting or you weren't trying to eavesdrop.

The bar at the counter had numerous wines, usually, the ordinary ones. In here, you could buy wines worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, but you have to be a member. Louise was one. She loved to hang out here with her ladies, and to her knowledge, it seemed Axel was a VIP.

"So, what do you think? Would you like to give me a try?" JC asked suggestively, wriggling his eyebrows. "I have ten digits in my bank account. I have three luxury cars, and four houses in the city. Also, I can guarantee I can bring you to heaven in twenty minutes. Proven and tested."

Louise rolled her eyes, and slammed her palm on the table. This man was getting on her nerves, and he made her embarrassed.

"Hey!" JC jolted, he was surprised. "What are you doing?" The other tables closer to them surreptitiously glanced at them, making him even more uncomfortable.

"I said I'm not playing around. Don't you get that? Do you have any idea what I do to men like you?" Louise leaned closer toward him, and he subconsciously moved closer as well.

Their face were only a few inches apart. She glared at him; a staring showdown ensued, between them, no one refused to bow down. His minty breath and manly scent entered her nostrils, making her bothered.

Louise didn't really notice men's smell or perfumes as she was used to them being sweaty and having b.o. But why the hell did he smell so damn great?! Louise backed down and looked away. He had body odor, right? Maybe she should make him sweat.

"What do you do to men like me?" The tense atmosphere was interrupted by the presence of the waiter who served food and wine on their table. She thanked the waiter, refusing to answer JC.

"What now? Cat caught your tongue?" he asked, raising his sword-like left eyebrow. The more she stared at him, they more she felt irritated because he seemed so... perfect.

"God created me with a mouth. As you can see, it's open. It means I'm allowed to speak as much as I want to. I have freedom of speech," he said righteously.

"How do I shut you up? I'm already regretting agreeing to meeting you."

"Dating you." He grinned as if he won already. "You can cover my mouth with yours. I guarantee it would be very effective."

Louise face's heated up, her blood pooling on her rosy cheeks. "I'm engaged; it would be inappropriate to go on a date with you."

JC took a sip of his wine while Louise played with her food. She twisted the pasta around her fork and stabbed it. The food looked appetizing, but she wasn't in no mood to eat.

"The fact that you're here means you're unsatisfied with your man..." JC raised his glass, and brought it to his nose. "Cheval Blanc 1947. A piece of bottle is worth a few hundred thousand dollars."

Louise looked askance as she glared at him. "Unsatisfied? I'm not here to date you in the first place, and I'm certainly not looking for a good lay or something. I'm here because I thought you were a good-f*cking-person. It turned out, you aren't."

"How can you say I'm not?" JC asked. "I saved you... two times already. In fact, you owe me a life."

Louise turned silent, and crossed her arms on her chest. "What.do.you.want?"

"Date me," he said straightforwardly.

"I said I'm engage," she said through clenched teeth.

"And I think your man doesn't know how to treasure you."

Silence ensued. Louise refused to admit it.

"Anyway, I'm not going to date you. If this is what you want to talk about, I'm leaving." Louise grabbed her bag, preparing to leave when he seized her hand. She looked at their hands, frowning.

"Let go, JC."

"I won't." He was stubborn, after all, he always got what he wants. No matter what it was.

"Louise? What's happening here?" A voice interrupted them, and they both turn to the source. A man and a woman stood there, arms linked to each other.

Louise marveled about her bad luck today. Why did she have to run to Alex with... that Miranda?!
