The manifestation of the hatred Mandela had for Roseline started on a sunday knowing that they attended same church, Mandela decided to avoiding Roseline completely. At the end of the service, Roseline saw Mandela leaving the church without her which was unlike her so she can after her, "Mandela! Mandela!" Roseline shouted as she ran after her and held her from moving any further "why are you leaving without me?" Roseline asked panting like she just ran marathon. "whats the matter with you?, can't someone be alone any more?. must you meddle in affairs that do not concern you?, please just stay on your own with your secrets let me keep mine" Mandela answered and left Roseline standing lost and frightened at the same time. "what is wrong with her?" Roseline said to herself as she went to the church looking sick all of a sudden.
The next morning Mandela was no where to be found in school and that got Roseline very worried that she went out looking for Mandela. "where is she?, and when did this start?" Roseline said to herself as she searched for Mandela. "can I help?" Roseline heard behind her as she turned and discovered Christian standing behind her "No, thank you." Roseline answered rudely, Christian was about leaving when Roseline realised she could use some help with the search of Mandela "wait!" Roseline called Christian back "have you seen Mandela?" she asked looking anxious "no, but I can help you look for her" said Christian who has been looking for an opportunity like that.
Mandela sights them together from afar and her anger grew "look at them, hypocrites. I wish i could just end both of you but i will make sure you suffer first Roseline". Finally Roseline see's Mandela and runs to her with happiness. "where have you been?, I have been searching everywhere for you" Roseline said looking satisfied but a bit worried. "Why, so i can join the celebration?" Mandela answered with anger in her eyes boldly written and open to the mind. "what are you talking about?" Roseline asked scared and confused, Christian who was already lost wanted to be involved "Mandela are you alright?" he said trying to touch her face to check her temperature. "don't touch me" Mandela said pushing away his hands from her body. "Mandela!, you should be thanking him" Roseline said trying to knock some sense into Mandela who was clearly looking like she was in a bad mood, "For what?, for you?, oh spare me the lecture and you better not follow" Mandela said as she left hissing. Roseline who was almost crying towards her friends latest behaviour thanked Christian for his help and left.
Mandela kept her distance from Roseline through out the period of their examination, until they all went their seperate ways for the University.
After graduating from the University they returned to the town but Mandela never forgot what transpired at high school and kept her vow to make Roseline regret ever crossing her path with the guy she wanted to herself.
