On getting to the field, Christian asked Mandela to help him get ice cream from the school shop knowing very well that Mandela would do anything for him and him on the other hand would do anything for Mandela to leave that arena."No,Mandela is not going anywhere.Look say what you want to say so we can leave i don't have time for this" said Roseline who was no longer comfortable with the looks on the faces of the boys and the absence of Mandela."I just want her to help me thats all" Christian replied innocently. Mandela was so excited that she would have the golden opportunity to get ice cream for Christian and even pick any flavor of her choice "Roseline calm down will you?, I will be back before you know it"Mandela said as she was already on her way to the school and not even turning to know if Roseline was ok. Looking very angry and being straight forward Roseline said to Christian "what do you want?" Christian did not quite get the question but decided to continue his mission "I just want us to be friends" he said with a face expecting something negative."well Mr we cannot be friends,I am ok with Mandela and i don't need another" Roseline said and was about to leave but was held back by Christian who felt he hasn't made his point yet.He was clearly shaking and his lips tightened like a new jar, he wanted to say something but was interrupted by Roseline "look if you don't have anything to say let me go, I don't want to be your friend and if you have any other thing to say, its a no even before you say it" Roseline answered with great speed and all seriousness, while leaving she saw Mandela who was smiling and talking to Frank with the ice cream in her hands and dragged her home.
Later that evening,it was time for reading but Mandela could not concentrate. She couldn't stop thinking about the incident at the field, "what happened at the field?" Mandela asked curiously, "nothing, just minor arguments that i don't want to tall about and i will advice we face our books and not talk about unserious people" Roseline answered with her eyes directed directly towards her books and blinking uncontrollably.
Mandela who was not satisfied with the response decided to try the other party. Christian visited Mandela's house to collect the money his Father sent him to collect from her Mother and on getting there Mandela's Mother was not at home so it was a great opportunity for Mandela. "Christian what happened at the field that day?" Mandela asked looking at Christian like she knew what he was going to say, "nothing happened, we just had a little chat thats all" Christian answered already in a hurry to leave like the question was chasing him out.
After he left, Mandela had to conceive a thought due to their response that they were together, which made her furious at Roseline knowing that she was interested in that particular guy yet Roseline had to go for him "why Christian?, Roseline I will never forgive you, for taking what you knew was mine, I will never forgive you." Mandela said to herself with great anger and hatred in her.
