Chealsea's POV
"She is mine!" Those were the words that echoed into the great hall of the creatures. The cheering bellows of the crowd became silenced as the Alpha of the Tikbalang stepped forward its hind legs making thunderous booming noise challenging anyone to come near. It was as if the tikbalang had already claimed me the moment it spoke.
"What the heck. I am not yours!" I cried out in protest. "I don't belong to anybody!" I stood up shouting like a little bratty kid who doesn't know when to shut up. It infuriated me to be claimed without my consent.
The Tikbalang's face softened. It was looking at me lovingly. And I could even say that it was giving me a soft smile. "But you are mine, Lieutenant." It spoke again, this time it sounded like a lower baritone voice of a woman. "The moment you broke into our psych dome, I knew you were mine."
