Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Mia's pov:

"Oh sorry! You're right since all I do is watch the workers while sitting on a chair crossed legs." Angelina sent me a killing glare for my sarcastic answer so I asked: "What? It's not like I can feel my legs too! I was standing the whole day and running around the kitchen to make sure the food is ready."

She rolled her eyes at me: "Okay fine! Whatever you say, just take us home to have a rest, I'm so tired and sleepy."

"I can't wait to get a shower and sleep, glad we're not working tomorrow, at least I'll have some sleep in the morning." I glanced at Angelina when I said that and noticed her biting her bottom lip.

She only does that when she is nervous or uncomfortable about something. She seemed lost in thoughts so I interrupted her curious: "What's wrong?"

Startled, she answered: "Huh?!...I was...thinking" and she turned silent. "Okay Angy (it's my nickname for her) I know that stuttering of yours, just spell it out, what do you need?" By then we got to our flat. It's just 15mn by car when there's no traffic, so now it's 2:20 in the morning.

We got out of the car and got into the flat when she finally said it: "I'm not so sure of you having some sleep in the morning." I looked at her raising one eyebrow giving her a threatening look. "Oh really? And why's that?"

She knows I love to have some sleep in the morning when I don't sleep early and with our job, we don't really sleep early but not as late as today too. She shrugged and said relaxing like she didn't worry just a few minutes ago: "That's because I need a favour from you."

"And what's that favour?" I asked curious while heading to our room to have a towel for my bath. Even though we have two other free rooms, we love sharing one. I told you we never get bored of each other.

"I need you to take my place in the supermarket tomorrow?!" It was more like a question. She closed her eyes like a glass slipped from her hand and she is waiting for the sound of it when breaking.

I rolled my eyes leaving a sigh of exhaustion: "I still don't see why you have to work in the supermarket Angy, you have enough money to take care of yourself and your mother." Now it's her turn to roll her eyes. "We discussed this subject many times and we didn't get to a point so just say yes or no."

"Only if you tell me why you can't go." I demanded. She sighed: "I need to visit my mother and as you know I don't really have time." I asked her worried: "Is everything okay with your mom? Is that why you're lost in your thoughts most of the time?"

"Yeah, she's fine. She just says that she misses me and I don't make time for her and I don't ask about her and that I care about my job more than her. She thinks I'm mad at her because she didn't give me the life I wished for, you know, she didn't have enough money to take good care of me but I never took it this way I swear, I'm just scared if I don't work enough we won't have money again."

She said with tears in her eyes. I pulled her into a hug. "It's okay sweetie, I understand but I understand her as well. She couldn't give you what you want and she blames herself for that, she's also growing up. You need to make time for her before it's late."

"I'll work on that, I promise." She said with her sad voice so to change the atmosphere I pulled her away. " Okay, enough with these emotional subjects, I will go to the supermarket but only this time. Now I need a shower and to sleep, since I have to wake up early in the morning oppositely to what I planned."

I gave her a mean look before getting to the bathroom and heard her chuckle.
