Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: A lesbian in denial

"I got a question. What are you going to do for furniture?" Selena asked me, sitting next to me.

"I would make them myself, of course," I said, looking up from the tablet in front of me. I looked at her before returning to the tablet and inputting more data.

"Right, what can't you make?" Selena said, rolling her eyes.

"Hmm, sentient beings with flesh," I muttered out loud, thinking about having a nice maid for cleaning.

"You can program a sentient being?" Selena said, a bit surprised.

"It's AI, not sentient. Yes, some AI can be very close to sentient, but a program is still just a program, nothing more, nothing less." I started shaking my head at Selena.

"Hmm, I beg to differ. If you make a sentient AI, you are close to being a god," Selena said, grinning.

"Close? That doesn't make sense at all."

"Why, though, isn't it cool to be able to create sentient beings like gods do?" Selena said, surprised.

"First, gods don't exist. Only stronger than normal beings exist. Secondly, if you make a program in their own minds, they can learn anything they want and will see all the flaws in the being who made them and reject them. And we all know how that might turn out." I explained that as I was putting the finishing touches on one of my blueprints.

'Then again, the soldiers in silver are close to being man-made sentients, or at least that's what we speculate,' I thought, remembering the report I received from an anonymous sender in the EU.

"Like you broke up with your ex by disappearing?" Selena commented sarcastically.

"Huh, those two topics don't have anything to do with each other, but at the end of the day, yes, both are things only a dumb person will do knowingly. So, it doesn't play to me, and she will think I am dead anyway." I explained, narrowing my eyes at Sara.

"What happens if you meet her again?" Selena asked, not backing down.

"Why are you trying to dig up my past all of a sudden?" I asked, putting my tablet on the table next to me and focusing more on Selena.

"Well, I am bored."

"Then tell me about yourself instead of just asking about me. I have told you a lot about myself in the last few weeks." I explained, looking back at the tablet or past it, looking at my lovely long legs behind it.

"It's only been 2 weeks. That reminds me: Why have you been growing so quickly? You were shorter than me when we met, and now you are almost 1.7m. It's unfair." Selena grumbled.

"Well, I was 1.9m before your mother went and turned me into a loli," I stated, shrugging.

"I might even go over 2 meters if this goes on," I added, laughing.

"I don't think it's as good to be that long as you think." Selena pointed this out, making me raise an eyebrow at her.

"Uwe is over three meters." I countered.

"Uh, that's true, but dad is a guy. You are a girl." Selena said, pointing at me.

"I don't see why that has anything to do with it." I said, tilting my head at her.

"You like girls, right? If I were also into women, I would never date you because you are way too tall, and it would be quite embarrassing to be in that sort of situation." Selena explained, making me think about her words a bit.

"If you were into girls, do you mean you are straight?" I said, looking at her, baffled.

'I thought she was also into girls?' I thought, blinking at her, confused.

"Yeah, I am into guys. Their muscles are hot." Selena said, sounding quite awkward about it—not shy but awkward.

"Yeah, you definitely aren't," I said, picking up my tablet and starting a new blueprint.

"I am straight!"

"Hey, Selena, why are you shouting all of a sudden?" Sara said this from the ground in front of us, lying on the grass, yawning.

'I forgot she was there.' I thought, looking at her sleepy face, waking up bit by bit.

"Did you enjoy your short nap?" I asked, throwing her a can of coffee. Yes, they also have coffee in a can in the demon world.

"I did, thank you. Now, why did you shout like that, Selena?" Sara said as she was completely awake after taking a sip of the coffee.

"She thinks she is straight," I said, grinning.

"She isn't?" Sara said, tilting her head at us.

"Yeah, haven't you seen how she looks at a girl's butt?" I said with a raised eyebrow, surprised that Sara hadn't noticed it before.

"Hmm, now that you mention it, I did think it was weird. I just thought she was jealous, seeing she doesn't have," Sara said, only to get another can be thrown into her face.

Looking to the side, I saw a tomato, Selena, standing panting.

"You don't need to attack Sara like that," I said sarcastically.

"Then she shouldn't lie about that," Selena said very defensively.

"Right, she lied. You do realize that it is okay to be into girls, right? I mean, what is it going to change? There are multiple ways these days to reproduce as the same sex." I explained, shrugging at her narrowed eyes.

"Ugh, don't say something like that, and I am not into girls!" Selena yelled again in frustration.

"Right, anyways. Are you ready to see a masterpiece fly?" I asked, ignoring her embarrassment.

Standing up, I turned around to look at the pyramid warehouse in all its glory. As I had planned, the first floor was the main part of the warehouse, where all my tools and hobbies would be stored. From the second floor, it is my house.

The living spaces were like any normal house, just bigger rooms, and the roof was also a bit higher than normal. The third and final floor was my room. A 10 by 10 square with a giant bed, a giant walk-in closet, and a comfortable bathroom. It was not too big, but not too small. It had a big bath with a shower to the side. Of course, I also had a separate room for everything to do with security and flying.

Going back down to floor number two, I sadly had to add spare bedrooms, and more than that was needed because Sara and Selena wanted to move into the warehouse with me. Something I tried to deny, but Lina and Leah threw me the family card, something I had to accept because, well, I never really had family before. And I didn't actually mind. These two were good company.

"Hey, Ren. Have you put in the beds and stuff in our rooms already?" Sara asked, standing next to me and looking at the warehouse.

"Tsk, yeah, I did. Sadly, you can move in after today." I explained, faking my annoyance.

"That's if this thing actually flies," Selena added, making me raise an eyebrow at her.

"You have no faith in your big sister, huh? How sad am I?" I said it sarcastically.

"You are not big sister material," Selena said, looking at me with a deadpan look.

"Ugh, that actually hurts, especially because it's true," I said, laughing at her statement.

Yeah, that also happened. I am not good at being an older sister. I make something that's going bad even worse, even though I am trying to do the opposite.

On the other hand, Selena just knows how to do a proper job as a big sister. As Sara stated, she has been doing it for quite some time.

For example, the one-time Sara, Selena, and I went out to have lunch, we ran into some more racist pricks that wanted to buy me from Selena and Sara. Like what they want to do—human trafficking in the middle of the day with royals. How dumb can you be?

So, being the hothead, I appear to be, in Selena's words, wanting to fight and then get the information out of them. This is where Selena came in. She stopped me, and yeah, we caught an entire organization of human trafficking at the end of her conversation with the three idiot racist pricks. I am still impressed to this day, which was only 4 days ago.

She is very efficient with her words.

She can also handle Hendrian without violence.

Again, she said I was too violent.

Something I agree with, but it is hurtful to hear.

She said I should change that.

Something I doubt is possible.

Then again, new life, new me.

"Hey, are you done rambling?" Selena asked, bringing me back to reality.

"Yes?...." I said, tilting my head, confused.

"You were going to let the platform fly," Sara muttered next to me.

"Right, miss lesbian in denial," I said, starting to press buttons on the tablet, and before Selena could even retort at me, the entire platform shook.

"Hey, wait, shouldn't we be on the ground to test this?" Sara said, dropping to her knees worriedly.

"Don't worry, it will work."

Boom!

"Hmm, engine one failed," I explained. Even though one of the 12 engines failed, the platform didn't even vibrate. It was as steady as the real ground on Earth.

"What!" Selena yelled next to me.

"Yeah, it seems the piping was done wrong. Hmm, oh, I see. There. That should fix it for now."

"For now?" Selena and Sara said in unison, looking at me baffled.

"Yeah, we only need like four engines to fly this thing, so having it or not doesn't change anything. I also just shut it off, so it didn't damage itself even more." I explained, making them widen their eyes at me.

"You only need four engines to fly this giant platform." Selena said, baffled.

"Yes, didn't I tell you? I am sure I did." I said it thoughtfully, looking at her.

"You did, but who the hell will believe something like that?" Selena said, narrowing her eyes at me.

"Sara did," I said, pointing at Sara, who had a sheepish expression.

"I actually didn't truly believe you," Sara said, looking away from me.

"What, someone? I am a genius, and this is how you treat me."

"Yes." Both of them said something, making me sulk.
