Chapter 2 - Pt 2

Silas stood outside in the summer rain, his knees scraped and his cheek red accompanied with a bloody nose. "Silas?" A man walked over and bent down next to the small figure shivering in the rain. "Come on get up." He lifted the boy and carried him to a cozy and warm building full of men and young boys. "Tell me what happened" Silas looked up and silently watched as the man closed the two of them in a office like room. "Mom kicked me out again" he said silently as the man walked over holding bandages and ointments. "Well from now on you'll just stay here with me huh." the man said as he cleaned the cuts on the younger boys legs. "Mr. Figaro why doesn't mom want me?" Figaro paused and moved away. "Take off those clothes and go put on one of the shirts over there." Silas nodded and did as told. Figaro used to be one of Ms. Abbots younger boy toys, once he turned 18 Silas's mom was on him like gum on the bottom of a shoe but unlike most Figaro was immune to the woman's charm but found a brotherly like love for her neglected son although young Silas felt a different kind of attachment that he had yet to understand. "Why are you so nice to me?" Silas asked as Figaro pulled the boy into his lap to help fix the over sized shirt he was wearing. "I just do" Figaro shrugged. "Will you always like me?" Silas asked in a timid voice making the older man chuckle fondly "I promise I will always love you Silas, your my brother." Silas blushed and nodded while holding onto Figaro as the older man carried him to a bed room where two other men where playing cards. "Ay Silas!" the men cheered and put down the cards embracing the boy. "Ok men our guest needs rest so lights off we'll play in the other room." Figaro put Silas down and smiled sadly. "sleep well and remember we care for you so dream good dreams" Figaro left along with the others leaving Silas alone with his thoughts and his wishes for a way to fly away and live with Figaro forever, a wish for freedom...
