Chapter 2 - Chapter two: Flying beasts, and one delusion man.

Alice's pov

August fourteenth, Tuesday.

August fourteen, I never thought I'd die. No I did know one day my pathetic life would come to an end, I mean when you're responsible for mass murder you become quite aware that death would come knocking down your door at a very young age.

I just never thought I'd die so pathetically. It was bad enough that my life was so pitiful but did my death have to be so unmemorable that I died with a couple of gang bangers?

Death felt peaceful though, never thought I'd have a peaceful life after death since I wasn't the model citizen during my time alive. It felt oddly nice that I could find peace in the dark, and just be– whoosh. Something shifted in me. That wasn't right, you shouldn't be able to feel in death.

Whoosh. I felt another part of me shift, and it felt like I was frowning. Frowning? Dead people didn't frown. Another sudden gush noise blew past with the wind. I felt my fingers twitch, and my heart raced fast. What the fuck? Dead people didn't experience anything.

Whoosh the loud noise cut through the wind again, and fanned my face this time. Bloody fu– My eyes shot open to the red skies.

My lashes twitched and my hands balled into a fist. Did I just rise from the dead? Was the first question that crossed my mind as my eyes narrowed from the red skies to my body that automatically jerked into a sitting position when my eyes opened.

One hand came down to the other tentatively. I quickly withdrew that hand then brought it up my nose to scratch the itch in my nose, and pick the booger hanging in there. Not dead, I thought knowing dead people did not feel the urge to pick their noses.

A zombie, mortification filled me with that thought but I shook my head when another crossed my mind. Zombies don't pick their noses.

Whoosh, I was pulled from my thoughts by the sound of something big cutting through the winds again and fanning my face causing my short, short hair to blow back.

My eyes raised up to the red skies with four pointed stars filling them in broad daylight. I was pretty sure it was noon from how bright the freakishly red sun was shining.

I didn't– I blinked with my veins popping from how hard my jaw locked as my eyes caught a big flying creature in the sky and something else in the shape of a man in the sky. I didn't think that man shaped thing was a flying animal because it didn't have wings.

It wasn't just these two creatures flying, it looked like they were fighting, no brawling, and whatever it was that was actually going on the man shaped creature was hit hard by the large flying beast that he headed straight for the ground.

I contemplated stretching my hands out to catch the man shaped creature but quickly recovered from the ridiculous thought knowing that would never work so I hurriedly got up my ass and began to run away from the direction of the falling man shaped creature.

In the back of my mind I could tell that I was possibly running from someone or something that needed my help but for a conceivable reason I ran faster.

I was dashing through unfamiliar territory with inhumane speed that I'd always refrained from using. There were trees and grasses everywhere that I even got flogged in the face by an oddly long wet branch.

Screech, I heard as I ran with the speed of a blur. Turning back to glance at what it was that was screeching so close to my direction, I didn't foresee the overgrown tree roots and I would've tripped if it wasn't for my heightened senses.

I managed to land on my feet but still in a very rough manner. I didn't find the time to recollect myself when something strong landed in my head… quite literally on my head.

I groaned loudly. "Fucking, shit!" My eyes descended down on the thing that fell on my head… quite literally on my head.

A grey item the length of a pen. The thing had a twisted shape with the pointy end of a pen. My hand dropped from my head and I slowly picked the thing up. It felt like a pen, it looked exactly like a pen if it wasn't for the twisted shape it had, it pretty much looked like fancy pe–

Screech, I heard from a close proximity. My eyes widened and I reluctantly looked straight ahead. I couldn't quite describe the monstrosity heading my way in my head but it didn't look happy. It's burning red eyes did look like it was gleaming with something exciting but I still doubted the beast was happy.

It looked like a giant black bird on fire. Literally on fire, and heading my way with a fierce speed. Something clicked, my brain restarted and I began running for my life.

The bird was still heading my way but I ran faster for my life. I could feel the beast gaining closer without turning back so I continued running.

Oh shit, oh shit was blaring in my mind as I zoomed past trees trying not to get knocked down by one of the ginormous trees around.

Flames heated my back and I knew it was closer so I slid past the overgrown roots of a tree and with blur speed climbed onto one of the trees to mask my presence with the density of the trees.

I could still hear screeching and well….screeching as I ran on the trees with the wide leaves and tall branches masking me. The noises of the fiery beast began to fade the further I ran on the trees.

I stopped instantaneously when I almost fell off a tree, currently lacking another tree to jump onto. My breathing was so fast that I clutched my chest with the pen in hand and glanced back to check for the beast.

I turned back around and yelped very loudly. The man-shaped figure or rather the guy currently flying above me began to slowly come down on the large tree branch with his green, no intense dark green eyes on me.

His mildly curly platinum blonde hair at one side and bright green bangs on the other fell, after being blown by the wind, on his milky white face as he finally made it down on the tree branch.

Almost my height, he looked like he would barely reach my shoulder, and dressed in baggy clothing. He was wearing a baggy sweater with white polka dots around the circular neck, and from the left sleeve of the sweater to the mid–point of the sweater was the exact color of his hair. Same for his pocketed cargo pants.

His almond dark–green eyes unshielded by his thick long eyelashes did a once over on me before they descended on the pen in my hand. From his carved platinum eyebrows, cheekbones painted with an olivey kind of subtle glitter and lemon colored small plump lips to his knife–shaped long ears had me backing away. Especially his knife–shaped long ears that had a lacy thin skin weaved into a cross weavework, unnatural and scary.

He had a long shiny earring on one ear lobe and a barbell earring on the top of his pointed nose.

Angel? Memories of what happened the last time I called someone an Angel had me swallowing. This guy actually looked more like those asian guys on TV than an angel. The bastard that obviously did something to me was the angel, no, devil suited 'the magic man' more.

"Who are you?" The white guy asked, stepping forward, his eyes glancing from the pen in my hand to my face.

I shifted from one foot to the other and tried maintaining a straight face. "Who am I? Who are you and why should I answer your question?" I fired back trying to mask the shakiness in my voice.

He threw his head to the side, allowing me a glimpse of the spider ink on the side of his neck. "One you're on private property, stranger, two that's not yours," he said, referring to the pen in my hand.

I backed away further since he began walking towards me. "Th–this little thing? It's yours?" I curse myself for stammering in my head.

He let out an exasperated sigh before saying, "give it back, and maybe I'll let you walk away with one leg," lies. I could see it in his eyes, the word lie was basically blaring in his eyes, not that I was down for leaving wherever this was with any body parts missing.

"Joke's on you buddy, I don't even know where 'here' is." I responded, masking the fear and confusion probably shining through the mask.

His lips parted, leaving out parts of his teeth. Something concluded in his dark–green eyes that left me swallowing thickly.

"You're human….." He said, trailing off when he flew before me, grabbed my neck with his smaller hands tightly and pushed me against the bark of a thick branch.

"What's a human doing in hell?" He breathed against my face and my eyes widened.

"Well Alice Idohosa, in one minute you will be sentenced to a lifetime in Hells Teen institution for the damned." I remembered the Magic man said calmly.

My jaw locked, and my lips tightened. My hands glowed purple and blue when I muscled him off of me with a powerful shove. "Get off of me!" I yelled as I pushed him away from me.

He managed to balance himself on the ground easily, and looked back at me with a ticked off look. "Not human, then you're a new inmate," the ticked off look died and a sly smirk appeared on his face.

"Well then, I should be welcoming you to Hells Teen institution for the damned. You're coming with me," he added like an order.

I scoffed looking wary, my veins popping from how stiff my body was. "I'm not going anywhere with you Master snake in the monkey's shadow." I replied with a mocking tone.

He gave me a droll stare.

•••

"Okay, I get it! You're really strong, please don't break my neck!" I yelled in panic from the smaller hand holding on to the back of my neck with an unbelievable strength, and pulling me to a massive building with a billboard close enough which said— Hells Teen institution for the damned.

I was dragged into the concrete, massive building with the stranger's hand on the back of my neck. His grip was mother fucking strong, I couldn't even think of beginning to pull away. How the fuck did someone smaller than me be so strong?

My eyes wandered around from the large brown pillars of the building, to the fountain in the middle of the divided center of the building. The oddly red sun shone down on the fountain since that part of the building had no roofing.

Some doors were placed here and there, I couldn't help but try to raise my eyes to look around. I could make out some faces from the glass center of the door. They stared curiously at my direction and I stared right back.

One face looked at me from the front of the others looking at me. I stared right back at his weird viper eyes with my purple eyes and blessed him with the middle finger and a shit eating grin. He looked exasperated, eyeing me as I walked away or rather pushed away.

"Stop doing that." The small brute bent my neck further to the ground and I winced.

I gaped. "What, receive peeping tom with a shining personality?" My sass was received with a tighter hold on my neck.

"The glowing eyes, unless you want one of them to pounce on you and beat the living holy shit out of you," he replied, pushing past a big door with ease.

How strong was this fool? "Whoops, I'm not sure we're allowed to use that word, seeing as we're in "hell" and all that," I sassed again.

"Usually inmates are brought kicking and screaming, guardian, continue with the sass and I'll throw you out the window." He grated, and I glanced at the glass window with red designs that told strange stories.

Guardian, there was that word again.

"I–well, inmates–" I shut up when he stopped in front of a door.

He stayed silent, staring at the door contemplatively. "Are you gonna–?" I was cut off again with him suddenly barging into the room.

"And then the cocksucker thought she had the right to fucking block me on Hq platform. I swear I'll get Honey and get him to tell the bitch what the fuck I said!" Said no, yelled the boy seated on the black couch in what seemed like an office.

The boy had dark skin, not as dark as mine though, his was more of brown than actual dark, and it almost seemed to have this honeyed olive on it, giving off an attractive hue. He looked just as short as the guy holding my neck but only he was less defined than the other, this guy had more of a seemingly scrawny shape.

He had raven black hair that I first thought were dreads at first glance but then I realized they were actually neatly made thick braids that breached down to his ribs, and covered his round face.

He also had almond shaped eyes like the Asian looking small brute behind me, the only difference was this guy had silver–red eyes. Ripped leather black pants with only a silky robe–like jacket he had on. Why wasn't he wearing any shirt? His entire brown chest was consumed with red ink of a flame illustration up to his collarbone, from there was a simple swirl of red and black spider tattoo on the side of his neck then a red ink of three small spheres in triangular formation on his forehead.

My eyes shifted from the boy to the way older female in a silk silver blouse behind a desk. She had all grey hair pulled up into a bun, dark skin almost like mine, round glasses, and silver eyes identical to the boy on the couch.

"Nikki, again, you can't report arguments, my office is not for whiny little bitches, the next time you come here the guards will kick you out, and drag you into the hole," The woman replied quietly while pressing away on her aged white computer.

This Nikki that was on the couch rolled his eyes and stood up with his hands crossed around his chest, taking the "entitled, sniveling brat pose" I'd become accustomed to from Tade.

Nikki huffed and said in a language I'd heard from television only, "dangsin-eun nae jonjaee gamsahaji anhseubnida."

She still wasn't looking at this– Nikki. "naneun jeongmallo," she replied in the same language.

Nikki whipped his head to the side and responded in english. "Try not to suddenly croak behind the computer, Sheila," he sneered the 'Sheila', before he began walking away.

A pause when he stood next to the boy holding my neck. "Jin," Nikki grated in a quiet voice.

Jin, so that was the name of my captor. Apparently Jin was his name. He scrunched his nose up at Nikki. "Poopsie," Jin replied with a smirk.

Nikki's eyes widened, and disgust etched on his face. "Fuck you," he replied and grumbled away.

My eyes trailed back, watching the boy stump his way out like a rich little brat, I had a feeling I wasn't making untrue assumptions about the boy's status.

I scoffed quietly. Fucking rich kids.

I was pulled away from my staring and thoughts when Jin began pulling me again, this time onto the couch then walked towards the silver–eyed lady's desk.

Jin pulled out a seat and leaned close to the lady. "Sheila, looking sharp today, your 100th Botox pulled through I see." Jin commented with an evil smirk.

Sheila, the lady behind the desk, gave him a blank stare. "Honey I've had 30 students walk in here in the space of 2 hours, I thrive off demeaning compliments." Sheila replied in an almost robotic manner.

Jin leaned back on his seat, and rolled his eyes. "Look, I found bambi lurking around on school property, so I brought him over." Jin said, looking in my direction.

Sheila turned to me with a scrutinizing stare. "dangsin-eun nae samusil-e ingan-eul delyeo wass-eoyo?" Sheila said in an asking tone.

She kept staring so I raised my hand and waved. "Hi." She frowned at my gesture.

Jin shook his head. "Not quite, he's a guardian, albeit a rather weak one," Jin said, I scowled.

Guardian? Another repeat of that word.

Sheila' eyebrows rose, almost breaching her hairline.

"What's a guardian? And why is that being referred to me again?" I asked with a dry nervous laugh as Sheila began typing on her computer.

Sheila glanced up at me. "A guardian is an immortal earth witch with the task of– Name?" Sheila cut the former sentence off to ask my name.

Earth witch? These weirdos think I'm some type of witch? 'The magic man' did whatever he did to me and somehow sent me to this damned place because he thought I was a witch? An earth witch? What the fuck even is an earth witch??

"Name kid," Sheila announced and I snapped out of my thoughts.

"Alice Idohosa." I responded sharply. Sheila continued tapping and Jin raised an eyebrow knowingly.

I gave him a face. "Don't look at me like that, boys who cry. Your name sounds like an 'alcohol' type." I wasn't sure if 'boys who cry' was the name of the band this guy looked familiar from but he seriously looked like those singing pretty boys.

"Oh, surprise, he has sass, I'm convinced he belongs here," Sheila suddenly muttered dryly. "Ah, a hit on Alice Idohosa– says here that you're responsible for mass murder, and thereby broke the rules that bind a earth witch resulting to you being sentenced a lifetime in here." Sheila added.

"Lucky you, you get a short sentence." Jin butted in, I ignored that.

"What do you mean by a lifetime sentence, I'm not getting what you're trying to insinuate," I started with a nervous chuckle.

Sheila blinked coldly at me. "You killed a lot of people, kid, now think of this place as a jail for "special" teenagers." Sheila answered, doing air quotes in the special.

I stared down at her getting up. "You mean freaks." I corrected her. Freak was the correct word for anything like me, I mean for God sakes look at Jin, the guy had fucking pointy ears.

Sheila' lips twitched. "Look at that, it's irritating me already." Sheila' silver eyes sparked, and I could feel myself unconsciously edge back and swallow.

"Sorry." I couldn't help but mutter.

"Well, you certainly know how to shut up than the rest of the "freaks" here." Sheila said, looking back at her screen.

Jin snorted with his elbow on Sheila' table and his jaw on his palm, his head tilted to the side. "Trust me Sheila, I've known him for an hour and shutting up is just him being a fake ass bitch–" he yelped lowly when Sheila smacked his hand away from her table.

"Alice Idohosa, you have been requested to be placed in the Wrath dorm." Sheila was reading from the screen.

"By whom?" I couldn't help but ask.

Sheila gave what I was beginning to think was her usual blank stare. "I think you have an idea Alice," she replied and in my mind I could feel my head say the magic man.

Jin, who I'd forgotten was here chipped in. "Why would he be placed there? That place is for legendary beasts."

Sheila didn't answer him, simply pulling out the paper that came out of the printer and handed it to Jin. "Take him to his room, let him get settled please," Sheila replied.

Jin sighed and wasted no time to capture my arm with his smaller hand and began to pull me out.

"I–I've still got questions—" Jin didn't let me complete my sentence when he began pulling me away.

Jin had a scowl on his face as he pulled me.

"Would you stop holding me so tightly?" I asked Jin who continued pulling me.

I rolled my eyes. "Jin, can you just loosen your hold? Jin? Jin? Jinny? Wait, is your full name Jinny?" I found myself messing around in my words as he paid me no mind.

Jin stopped, turned around and pulled me closer. He breathed through his nose before turning away from me and knocking on a particular door with– Daddy_Nikki_Sempai plastered on it.

I raised an eyebrow at Jin. Jin paid me no mind when he stopped knocking and barged into the room. He really did like barging into rooms.

We were greeted with the sounds of hardcore moaning, and a familiar face sitting on a chair with his pants on his knees and his hands moving up and down on his dick.

"What the fuck!!" I shrieked, but Jin seemed the least bit affected by what the boy on the chair was doing.

The boy stood up abruptly, pulled his pants up and turned his laptop screening porn off.

"Jin, what the fuck are you doing in my room dude?" He asked through pants.

Jin for the umpteenth time rolled his eyes. "Jerking off again Nikki? Not surprised, anyways you've got a new roommate try not to fuck him or murder him." Jin said, Nikki and I opened our mouths to speak.

Jin raised a hand. "Both of you, stay away from me, and don't talk to me." Jin gestured at the two of us as he spoke before walking away.

Nikki and I turned back to each other. Nikki stared at me for a while before walking into the bathroom without a word.
