Lucy's POV
After finishing my degree and working, I searched for him on social media. That was after my horrible divorce and I was lonely and thinking about him a lot. I saw his profile, Lee Bennett but it didn't have a picture. Some profiles with the same name had pictures but it wasn't him. Some were from a neighboring country. I went through his profile not a single picture was there and he had not posted anything on his wall in a while but he had two friends from high school as his friend and I recognized them. I knew it was him. I sent a friend request. After a whole month when I least expected he accepted it and I inboxed him.
'Hi Lee, how are you? I'm Lucy from high school. Remember Me?' Even though I sent a message immediately after receiving the notification that he had accepted my friend request, it took him a week to respond to my inbox. I guess he just isn't a social media person!
'Hi Lucy! Of course I remember you, you have changed. You look so beautiful from the girl I used to know, though you were still beautiful then, but now wow! You are stunning with all those curves.'
A blush had creeped up my cheeks, heating up my face. I cupped my cheeks instinctively as if someone was looking at me. I responded with a 'thank you and I bet you still look as handsome as ever' I pressed a send button.
I could not believe that I had just started a flirt thread with Lee but I was determined to get to the bottom of it and see if what I had was love or just a crush.
After another week he responded telling me that he was overseas in the United Kingdom for studies but he worked as a computer programmer in a law enforcement agency back home. He told me he would come back to check on me after his studies.
How weird was that? A computer programmer who actually did not like being behind the computer that much it seemed? Who takes weeks to take a look at their social media? I thought maybe studies were taking a toll on him and he just wanted to focus. To cut the long story short if you're wondering if I ever had to live my fantasy with Lee, no I never had. After he came back home, it took him two years to reach out to me though he had my phone number.
He visited me after those years, and all he could talk about was his ex girlfriend and the mother of his child. I figured he wasn't ready for anything other than that girlfriend of his. Besides he was no longer that handsome. Age had done a number on him. We were 32 years old then, though I looked like a 23 year old, while he looked like a 43 year old, that's when my question was answered. It had been just a crush not love and it took a good 14 years for me to know.[end of flashback]
Getting back to my weirdly odd situation at hand, I had become a 19 year old. I was back at the University and still had my old life memories. Ohh boy! It was like I had just been handed a clear navigation map to start navigating and steering my life up in a totally different course of life from what it had been before.
Nelly was my current girlfriend she was nagging me to get ready quickly and avoid getting late for our lecture. I groaned. "Nelly what the heck? Let me get ready at my pace, we still have an hour. Besides it's not like we're traveling miles to the class, geez!" I said rolling my eyes. She sneered at me as I responded.
"Well, I know you want time to go and make out with Jack in the bathrooms like you did yesterday!" I told her.
She sneered again. "Like you don't want to be all over that Kenneth of yours yourself!" She retorted. "Giirrl you have no idea how much I missed him last night. I wish you weren't my roomie I would have sneaked him in here I swear." I responded. "Haha! Preach it my honey" she said.
I cringed, though not intentionally that line kind of reminded me of my past life as a religious fanatic and a total opposite of what I was now but I brushed it off because she didn't know that life of mine. We both burst out laughing at our naughty thoughts.
Don't get me wrong we are not rebellious children or something we're just both fun loving people, two peas in a pod kind of thingy. You could swear that we were deliberately paired by fate or God.
We both got out of our room and trotted down the stairs to the students mall. I knew that I was going to see him there. Oh how I missed him. My Kenneth.
I looked everywhere but I could not find him. I sighed frustratedly. Just as I was about making a short left going inside the auditorium room 201 to finish my math assignment, I heard him call out from behind. "Omalicha!"
