"You didn't have to bring this upon yourself, Little Brother," the knight's voice rang out, its sorrowful tone swept away by the blistering hot winds across the battlefield.
Another knight lay on the ground groaning with shallow breaths. The armor over his chest ripped off and mangled around the waist.
From his jagged wounds, blood seeped relentlessly, staining the ground beneath him.
Despite the excruciating pain he felt in his arm, Izek strained to reach for his fallen sword. But just as his fingertips brushed the hilt, the surrounding grains of sand seemed to come alive, swirling and pulling the blade deep into the ground.
It had only been five minutes since Izek challenged his older brother to a fight.
