It had only been two days when I had to say goodbye to Athena once more. She had to return to the capital to resume her duties, but she promised to visit me every week in Oakhart.
I was content with that. I had no desire to be involved in the politics of the capital or the intrigues of noble circles. The life of a laidback countryside noble suited me much better.
Plus, I had a stack of new books from the Stark and Hart Kingdoms waiting for me, and it'd be a crime to leave them unattended. And I could now also find time to make snacks and sweets for myself in the evenings.
