The rest of the time went by in a heartbeat. The nights were getting colder and colder. This was strange because the winters had just passed according to mom and now the days had to get warmer.
I took a good night's sleep, dreaming about riding my newly gifted car, wearing the black dress that mom gave me. The alarm clock buzzed at 7 in the morning as usual.
I woke up instantly and went downstairs after getting freshened. Valek wasn't there.
"Valek didn't come?" I asked mom who was starting to prepare the breakfast for dad who had to leave early that morning.
"I just did," Valek spoke standing behind me.
He had just appeared out of nowhere.
"Valek, I wanted to ask you something," mom said as soon as she heard him.
"Yes, aunt," Valek said as he leaped forward to pick up the apple from the fruit basket on the table.
"Where did you get your lens from?" mom asked Valek.
