"So you're saying... you would choose her?" Sasha's voice dropped low, full of grievance.
"No, I don't even like her."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Why don't you like her? Don't you think she's more popular?"
"Far from it. Plus, I think a person's attitude is more important. Hers doesn't appeal to me."
Sasha finally broke into a smile, because she saw Hallie coming out from behind.
She had noticed Hallie's shoes on the ground earlier. The girl in white sneakers was quite noticeable. Knowing this, Sasha intentionally led Nolan to speak as he did; sure enough, Hallie had heard everything.
Hallie came out, clearing her throat.
Nolan saw her, paused, revealed an obvious discomfort on his face. He thought about it and relaxed. Setting his typically aloof face straight, he looked at Hallie.
Sasha said, "Hallie, what are you doing here?"
