Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 Are You Running Away?

Hallie Morgan looked up, staring at this man who suddenly appeared to show kindness.

He finally shot her an impatient look, "Give yourselves a week to fatten her up. I don't want to see her looking ill and feeble here, making the old man think I'm mistreating her."

She knew he wasn't so kind-hearted...

The servants brought food, beverages, and daily necessities - everything one could need.

Inside, she breathed a sigh of relief. Now that she had left the Morgan family, all she had was the abortion money he gave her. She had nothing else and couldn't even find a place to live.

The arrival of Dylan Collins spared her from being stranded on the streets, a blessing of sorts.

She marveled at the lavish surroundings of the Collins family household. Over the next two days, the extravagant lifestyle there redefined her idea of affluence.

Under the efficient care of the nutritionist, she began to feel much better within two days.

At this point, she noticed a crew message posted on Instagram.

Director Cromwell's TV series was holding auditions, and the collaborating company was the one she currently belonged to.

Why wasn't she notified?

She dialled Evelyn Olsen's number while pacing around.

"Evelyn, I saw that Director Cromwell is auditioning actors. Why didn't anyone notify me?"

"Hallie, aren't you enjoying a life of luxury at a grand household, pregnant and all? Leave these good opportunities to others."

"... Evelyn, you've misunderstood. I will soon abort the child. I can't miss this opportunity. Could you reserve a role for me? Any role will do!"

A show directed by Cameron Cromwell was only produced every few years, but each one was a huge success. Unexpectedly, this time he chose to partner with her company.

She had already lost one opportunity due to being confined by the Morgan family. She absolutely couldn't lose this opportunity.

"Alright, let me tell you straight. The roles have already been decided internally, and the audition is just a formality. It's not that I don't want to promote you, but I can't do anything about it. Plus, Aria Morgan is participating in this production. Are you sure you want to be involved too?"

"Evelyn…"

She had already ended the call.

Aria was going too.

Aria was her younger sister, the little princess of the Morgan family. If Aria saw her, she would definitely tell the Morgans. She wondered if they would come looking for her to cause trouble.

But still, it was a Cameron Cromwell production...

Hallie gritted her teeth, got up, and changed her clothes. She took her time gathering the recruited actor information and script before heading out.

Dylan Collins was immediately informed of Hallie's departure.

He massaged his temples vigorously, cursing under his breath, wondering what this woman was up to again.

"Hallie Morgan, huh. You're not even able to play your role for a few days and you're already planning to leave?"

At the entrance, Hallie, who was about to rush off, was suddenly pulled back by Dylan Collins. He grabbed her collar, dragging her back like one would handle a small chicken.

"Dylan Collins! What are you doing? I have an urgent matter to attend to. Let me go."

Hallie was so anxious that she blurted out a curse.

Dylan Collins' expression hardened. His cold eyes instantly filled with frost.

"What are you heading out for? Are you secretly planning to leave and give birth to the child?"

"How could I? Haven't I signed the contract?"

"A baby from the Collins family is worth your risk." He looked at her indifferently, arrogantly confident.

His conceit was startling.

As Hallie watched the time ticking away by the second, she was filled with despair.
