Chapter 27 - Leisure Time

It was a large glass building, making it unbelievable that someone was caged inside as most rooms were pretty much visible. They had stolen the car from the man who threatened them and drove to the leisure centre Ghosty had told her about.

As Tom had said, it was near the center of the city and it was clear that it was well invested facility. The grounds itself were filled with water features and well designed gardens on either side of the gravel road leading up the the car park based opposite the entrance.

Since the vehicle was part of the secret organisation, the security didn't suspect anything suspicious. Ebony knew that it wouldn't be wise to get ahead of herself but she was desperate to get back what was hers, even if it meant putting others lives on the line.

Parking the car in a space, Jane looked at Ebony blankly in wonder at what the thirteen year old girl would do next. The girl had only given basic instructions the whole way there and Jane was still none the wiser as to why she needed to get to an elite leisure centre.

"right... " ebony started as she unfastened her seat belt and opened the car door, "wait here I'll try to make this as quick as possible. "

" Wait!" Jane exclaimed as she watched the young girl step out and give her a puzzled look," Your only wearing a coat... At least put on some shoes. "

Ebony watched as the woman removed her trainers and passed them over to her. Sighing, Ebony sat back in the car and slipped the shoes on quickly.

Exhaling in releif, Jane waved Ebony off as the girl jogged towards the centre's entrance. Fortunately, Tom was sitting in the back seat sleeping through the whole affair.

'I can sense him so I must be close-by. I have to find where the pool is and hopefully nobody suspects I'm only wearing a trench coat with nothing underneath or else it will make this task a little difficult.'

The glass facility had automatic doors that glided open when Ebony neared the entrance. Entering through them, Ebony smirked at the lack of security she had met.

Glancing around, she stood on a marble floor surrounded by white and grey walls and a stone water fountain. Potted plants clustered around the corners confirming the status of the building.

A receptions desk stood on the left side of her that had a onyx, black counter in front of a tall, thin woman. Her dirty blonde hair was tied into a tight bun and her face was cut with sharp eyes and thin lips.

Although she was young, her back arched as though she had been working for decades and her malnourished hands were decorated with neon pink nails. They tapped the black counter as the woman ruffled through sheets of paper focusing in on the lists of names written.

Sneaking past her quickly, Ebony made her way to a corridor that had a large map featured on a mint green wall.

"Let's see..." Ebony murmed as she traced her finger along the lines leading up to a box labeled pool, "Ah-ha! Found it."

"Found what?" a stern voice scrutinised, from behind her.

"Uhmmm" Ebony hummed as she spun around to face the receptionist.

"I don't remember signing you in and I haven't ever seen you before. Who are you?" the woman glared head on at Ebony, staring her up and down.

Ebony struggling to come up with a response, rubbed her forehead before catapulting her head towards the woman in front, knocking her out.

"Sorry 'bout that."

Looking back up at the map, Ebony worked out a route and began making her way to the pool. Humming along the corridors, Ebony finally reached a sign hanging above some doors that read 'Pool Entrance'.

'He said it was below the pool though so maybe I should be looking for some stairs.'

Sighing, Ebony entered through the doors darting her eyes around at the people swimming lengths in the pool. Wondering if the entry to the area under the pool was in the pool hall, she looked around quickly.

Suddenly her eyes came across a set of metal doors at the end of the pool that had yellow 'warning' stickers attached. Figuring that it was the most likely way to the area under the pool, she started pacing towards the doors. Avoiding to radar of the several security guards, she reached the doors and slipped onto a dull metal stairway.

She could smell the dampness from the corners of the room and frowned at the idea of her mate being stuck in such a dark and dingy place. Cautiously making her way down the stairs, she listened to the soft clinking noise made as her trainers hit of each step.

Eventually, she reached another set of doors at the bottom of the spiralling staircase that had 'no entry' banners plastered all over them. Tearing the banners down she barged into the room on the other side.

(A/N: The rest of this chapter is written from Ebony's perspective.)

I wasn't expecting everything to go easy but I definitely didn't think forty to fifty soldiers would run and attack me the second I entered the room. Luckily I transformed quick enough to eradicate the problems but nonetheless it is a bit degrading having to keep killing people.

Once the blood bath was over, I continued my mission and made my way into a small dense room that reeked of chlorine and mold. It was designed like a boiler room and I could still hear the whirring of water being pumped through the pipes into the pool.

Suspiciously a few of the water pipes led of in another direction from the rest. Curiosity killing me, I followed them into a larger room filled with machines and large screens hovering above hundreds of glowing buttons.

Looking around to the centre of the room I found an enormous glass tank filled with water. There was no satisfaction in finding where the water pipes led to though, as I was more occupied as to what was squirming inside the tank, clearly in pain as his chest fluctuated rapidly trying to get oxygen.

A low growl erupted from my wolfs mouth as she saw her mate suffering inside of a cage and I too felt like watching everyone that had harmed him suffer in pain. Calming myself down, I reminded my wolf that the mission was to retrieve out mate and then get revenge.

Grunting, my wolf searched the room for any signs of movement but all she found was someone ducked behind one of the machines shaking and crying. Internally smacking my head at the stupidity of some people I told my wolf to make it quick so we could stop our mates suffering.

Not needing reminded, she strolled towards the machine ripping it out from concrete and flinging against the stone wall where it smashed into pieces. It revealed a trembling woman with curly brown hair, dressed in a white lab coat that was stained splatters of blood.

Me and my wolf, not needing told as to what the source of the blood was both decided to tear apart the woman. Setting her jaws into the woman, my wolf crunched down on her ribcage silencing her screaming and heartbeat.

Repulsed by the bitter taste, she spat out the blood and stormed over to the glass tank before smashing her body into it, cracking the glass. It didn't take long for the tank to smash as my wolf repeatedly slammed into the glass.

Water flooded out as my wolf stood steadily above the current, waiting to grab our mate out from the water. A lifeless body spilled out from the tank as my wolf rushed to grab him.

Picking him up, I realised he was dressed in a blue, plastic dress that was torn and stained with blood. Anger surged through me as I changed back into my human form and pressed down on his chest to get the water out from his lungs.

"Wake up! Wake... Up!" I yelled as I continued to push up and down on his chest. Tears began streaming down my cheeks as I thought I was too late.

*Cough, cough*. Water poured out from his mouth as I grabbed him into a hug. He continued to cough up water and I felt the warm liquid pour down the skin on my back.

"L-let go..." He choked as he tried to push me off but his meek attempt only made me feel more protective. I had to keep him somewhere far away so that no one can hurt him again.

"No. Stay still..." I whispered, stroking my fingers through his wet strands of hair. It had grew a lot since right years ago, I suppose they wouldn't waste time cutting it when they could be cutting open his stomach instead.

"Y-y-you've not got any-" he stuttered as he continued to pull away from my embrace.

I guess he had a point though, it was pretty indecent of me to touch him without having any clothes on. Letting go, I stood up and held my hand out to help him up.

"W-what?" he questioned as he held onto my hand.

"What do you mean 'What'?" I laughed as I pulled him up, "We're going home."

"Home?"
