Waking up the next day, Ebony found herself lying out on the slightly damp grass. Confused, she opened her eyes and recalled the events of the previous day.
'Well this is great! I got out using the enemy's help, then caused a divorce for said enemy and now I've woken up on that same enemy's garden. It couldn't get better, except for the fact I'm still no where near the level of vengeance I desire. Before that I have to get my precious thing back in my arms. If only I had longer to slowly make the people suffer. Well, at the very least I'll get to spend a long time torturing little Ghosty until he eventually dies.'
Sitting up, she noticed that someone was crouching in front of her staring. Dropping the daisies he had just picked, he blushed and stood up.
"Tom?" Ebony watched in confusion as the child ran into the house glowing red, "What's his problem?"
Making her way to get breakfast, she entered through the glass doors noticing Ghosty was lying on one of the leather couches snoring. Realising this was an excellent time to begin the punishments, she tiptoed over and punched him in the gut with just enough force to leave him on the brink of cracking a rub.
"Ughh!" Ghosty lurched up, grabbing his stomach as Ebony burst out in hysterics. Groaning, he ran to the bathroom to release the fluids from his stomach.
Ebony still laughing her head off, looked at the mother and son who walked into the room. Tom running to the dining table, blushed as he sat playing with one of his electric toys. Jane wandered over to Ebony, displaying a warm face as she closed the glass doors stopping the cold from coming in.
"Oops! Morning..." Ebony greeted, lowering her head like usual. Confused at why she kept acting so polite, Jane nodded and returned the greeting.
"Morning, what would you like for breakfast? That is if your staying..." Jane questioned, unsure as to what was going to happen now.
As much as she was putting on a calm facade, deep inside she was terrified for her and Tom. She didn't want to put him in danger even if it meant kicking out a homeless girl.
"By the way, how old are you exactly? I kept wondering, you look about fifteen or sixteen, but you act... A little immature and clueless at times." looking guilty as she tried not to insult the girl, Jane lowered her head.
"I'm thirteen and for a werewolf I'm actually undeveloped for someone my age. Hopefully, once I get eating a healthy five portions of meat a day I'll start getting bigger. Hehe, I can't wait!" she chirped, excited at the prospect of getting bigger and stronger.
" F-five meals a day!?" shocked, Jane glanced in the direction of the kitchen. All she had was processed ham and who knows if that can be classed as real meat. What was she going to use to feed this ravenous child?
"Don't worry about it, if you don't have meat in I'll just go hunt some. I saw a forest on the way here so I'll start hunting there. Would you like me to bring you some kill back?" Ebony politely asked.
Surprised by the seriousness in her tone, Jane shook her head trying not to pull a weird expression. It was just an unfamiliar situation to get used to and with everything going on at once she just decided to take everything that came her way with a pinch of salt.
"Okay! Well I'll get going and in response to your question before I'll be staying here until I destroy that organisation and get back what was stolen from me. I'll take ghosty, so you and your son can continue to live here in peace." Ebony smiled as she reopened the glass door and transformed into a wolf, only this time she took Jane's clothes off first. If she was going to be a guest she should at least have some respect...
Running forwards, it took her only two minutes to hop over the fence and enter the dense woods. Cutting through the brambles and barbed edges of branches, she managed to find a clear spot where she sat and let herself listen and smell the surroundings to find prey.
'mmm, I can smell the damp soil and decaying leaves- what do I mean "mmm" it smells like sh*t. Where's the freshness of the leaves and the vibrant scent of pine cutting through all the other blurred tree scents. Wait! I need to focus now. My meal is strolling right up to me, hehe...'
Stopping in front of her was a lone fox, perfect for a nice, juicy steak. Perhaps because she had been completely motionless, the fox remained defenseless and calm as it trotted by.
Jumping up, she pounced on the absent minded creature claiming her first meal. Continuing her hunt, she set upon several different forest animals until she felt full.
Heading back, she heard someone breathing behind the fence she had jumped over before. Slowly getting ready to pounce, she lowered her body close to the ground as she peered through the slats in the fence.
'Phew... Its only that kid'
Relaxing, she hopped over the fence resulting in the boy jolting upwards to meet her stare. Confused, she tilted her head sideways looking at the boy.
"I WASN'T F-FOLLOWING YOU. I WAS Just ummm... GUARDING THE House! " trailing of he buried his head in his hands, embarrassed that he was caught spying on her.
Chirping in humour at his childishness, the wolf went to pick him up and place him on her back. If he didn't return soon his mother might begin to worry.
" W-what! Put me down! Put me down! Ahhh!" He screamed as she picked him up by the back of his collar and chucked him on her back.
"Quiet kid" Ebony commanded as she mindlinked him, walking slowly with him securely on her back.
"H-how'd you do that!?" Tom yelled, causing Ebony's wolf to flinch in suprise.
Irritated she continued to mindlink, "No need to shout! Just remember to hold on tight, we're gonna run back now."
"Hu-ahhh? " Tom screamed as the wolf was rapidly increasing speed. Thinking he might go flying, he gripped onto the back of her mane tightly.
As they were getting closer, Ebony haulted noticing an abnormal silence surrounding the cottage . Breathing in, she caught the scent of blood lingering in the air.
Mindlinking the command, "Kid don't talk and keep your head down."
Ebony quickly scouted the area surrounding the house, surmising that it had been raided while she was out hunting. They were most likely people from the organisation looking for her. Her wolf growled quietly at the idea of them still searching for her.
Smelling only Ghosties blood, she mindlinked Tom to ask where his mother was.
"Ohhh, she said she had to go to the shops for a while..." he replied in thought.
"Shops? What for?" she mindlinked while picking him up from her back and plopping him down onto the grass.
"I don't know she just said she had to go out to the shops for a while. It was just after you left." He shrugged as he stood up and brushed the dried dirt from his trousers.
'After I left, why? I don't know what's happening but I need to go check if ghoties alive or not ..."
Transforming back into a human next to the pile of clothes she left, she changed and walked into the cottage.
"Stay here. I don't know what has happened, but whatever it is, it's better for you not to see" she warned. Slumping his shoulders, he resigned at waiting for her to come back out.
Heading inside, the scent of blood grew, remembering the sickening events that occurred within the facility. Reminding herself that she would never go their again, she searched the house finding Ghosty lying on the kitchen floor next to the fridge. Blood oozed out of a bullet hole in his belly as it fluctuated back and forth.
"Ohh your still alive! Great." Ebony smiled sinisterly while she crouched down and slapped him awake.
" AGGHHHH-" slamming her hand on his mouth to keep him quiet, she warned him to shut up. Weeping, he noded his head compliantly.
"I'm sure I told you that I'd be the one to kill you, didn't I?" she smirked, circling the bullet hole in his stomach that spurted out handfuls of blood.
Flinching, he held in the screams of agony that threatened to spill out.
"It doesn't matter really... cause I'm gonna kill you pretty soon anyway, haha!" leaning in, she whispered, " Where is he?"
Clenching his eyes shut as sweat rolled down his pale face, he gulped, "P-promise to protect my son and I'll tell you."
"Hah! I didn't realise we were in a position to negotiate Ghosty!" she laughed bitterly, pressing down harder on the area surrounding the bullet hole.
"Nggg! Pl-please... I'm beg-ging you" he trembled, moving his hands to grab her arms so she would stop.
"Fine... Why just your son? What about your wife? Do you not care about her now she asked for a divorce?" Ebony asked out of curiosity.
"S-she..." he paused, contemplating something.
Tired of waiting she nudged him roughly, "What!?"
"She was blackmailed by the organisation! They threatened to kill Tom if she didn't reveal your location. They gave her a gun and said she was to dispose of me as well, but when she got here she didn't have the gut's... " he spilled, closing his watering eyes tightly.
Not needing it explained, she chuckled in exasperation. How many people were going to betray her before she realised that she couldn't trust anyone.
"And the boy?"
"He's in another facility! Or more like a leisure centre. Under the pool there is a basement where he is held. The security is high, but no one questions it because its a private facility for the rich! It should only be within a twenty mile radius of here. They'll know your after him and will use that fact!"
"Thanks."
Her eyes glazed over as she picked up one of the knives that had fallen on the ground. Sliding it into his bullet wound, received a piercing scream of agony. Anger ran through her veins as she continued to dig the knife deeper into the whole.
It wasn't long before he passed out in pain, removing the knife she continued to pierce the skin all over the front of his body until his heart eventually stopped beating.
"hahaha!...hahhh, it wasn't enough time..."
