Ebony woke finding she had accidently fell asleep while she was hiding under the fox and deer coats her father and mother had made for her so she wouldn't be cold in the winter. Despite her telling her parent's that she already had a thick coat of fur, they were always worried that she might catch the flu or pneumonia which could kill her considering they were unable to go visit the doctors in case their species was discovered.
Suddenly remembering why she was hiding in the first place she jolted up from the cover quickly scampering outside to see where Charlie was. 'Huh it's night already? Mum and dad should be back by now, where are they? They'd never stay out this late to hunt even if they were fighting the most dangerous animals in the forest.
Enhancing her hearing and smell, she scouted the surrounding areas realising she couldn't feel anyone else's presence. Worried, she began frantically searching in the forests forgetting the warning her parents had left on the note for her. Panicked at everyone's dissappearance tears formed in the corners of her eyes and were rolling down her face, they burned her skin slightly as she started to rub them away so she could see properly.
When she realised there was no one within the one mile radius of the tent, she turned back home running at werewolf speed so that she could check if they might have snuck by her while she was searching.
'they' ll be there, I'm sure... They have to be'
Forgetting about the boy's dissappearance, she flung herself into the tent, praying they were home. They would laugh it off that some bear or a group of foxes caused trouble around the border 'I'm sure'.
She pounced into the room, expecting to see her parents warm faces welcoming her home or scold her because they were worried that she had gotten into trouble. She pleaded with god saying she would listen to their warnings and do what they told her if only they would be in this room.
She fell to the ground when she got in the tent, sobbing because of the unbearable truth she had to face. 'they're not here... Who am I kidding I knew they weren't here... I would have smelt or heard them before now if they were'. It was then she realised that her parents were most likely not coming home and she would never see them again.
After hours of sobbing on the floor drowning in her acidic tears she crawled into the bedroom, where she was curled up before, shuffling into the pile of soft fur. Inhaling the scent of her parents she clung onto the fur which triggered another painful cry.
"mu-um, d-dad where a-are you?" she whimpered her head buried under the fur blankets, "I'm sca-scared, p-please come home n-now. It's not f-funny anymore. Please don't leave m-me"
Her pleads reached none as she sat alone in a bundle of fur for hours weeping and begging for her parents to come home even if it meant she had to die. When dawn started to rise, the pain became to much, her wolf could no longer sense her parents presence and her emotions being erratic caused her mind to shut down. Allowing the wolf in her to take over as her permanent form at least until she could feel again.
Four days had passed since her parents went missing and she knew that it could only be the worst outcome. Death.
During that time she and her wolf had not eaten or drank anything, their body was malnourished and her ribs were starting to poke out from beneath her silky, white fur. She would have been in agony if not for the fact that the pain she felt from the loss of her parents was much worse.

Werewolf families were a lot closer than other species families, the wolves in them created lifebonds to the ones they loved be it family, friends or lovers. It was an amazing feeling being close to someone you had a bond with, it was as though your mind was linked to the other in synch. It was a peaceful existence as long as you maintained the bond, as the connection between the werewolves stabalised there rationality and emotional state. Without it the wolves would take over and become a danger to everything and everyone around them.
Besides this was something worse, a broken bond between the two wolves minds. The break in the bond could only mean one thing... the other person had died. This was much worse as it was not a gradual loss that slowly turned the wolf insane. No. It was so painful and unbearable that the body would have no choice but to shut down. The loss of the others presence ripped away a part of their soul causing them to become lifeless.
Most of the werewolves in the past, when they existed in enormous packs with hundreds of wolves in them, did not suffer as dire consequences as they had more lifebonds with members of their pack like one huge family. When one died they all pulled themselves back up together after mourning for however long it took for them to stabalise their emotions. But as time went on and people had fewer but more intense bonds the effects of the lifebonds being broken became more sever and life threatening. Some who only had a lifebond with their lover faced the most cruel consequences when their partner died. Their bodies would shut down and as time went on their organs and muscles stopped working causing them to die a slow and painful death, trapped inside their own bodies...

Her wolves chest slowly sank and rose as she lost the energy to keep breathing. Her eyes rolled back hoping she would be reunited with her parents in heaven or wherever she was going.
'mum, dad I'm coming, don't worry I'll be their soon so don't run off somewhere I can't find you again' she sluggishly chuckled in her head, unconsciously releasing a small tear from her eyes which ran down the soft fur on her face. The last feeling she would feel...
Or so she hoped before several lights lit up her tent and what felt like one hundred mens voices boomed around her. She couldn't make out what they were saying as her senses were dulled and making out their blurred speech was the least of her concerns.
'whaaat! did me not listening to my parents really send me to hell'
