King Baxtor was ruling the Kingdom of Avelon. He called out the Royal Family and the cabinets for an immediate meeting in the dining room. Everyone in the royal family came to the dining room rapidly. Everyone was seated, the king stood up.
'I scheduled this immediate meeting to tell a few important things.' Said the King. Everyone had a question mark on their faces.
'I have been ruling this kingdom for nearly sixty years. I have been ruling this kingdom with justice and peace. Many cruel kings tried to conquer our kingdom, but they failed, because of our strength and power.' Explained the King.
'Absolutely,' murmured everyone.
'And, I think the time for my retirement is near. So, out of our two twins, Prince Xavier and Prince Lucas, Xavier shall become the next king of Avelon while Lucas, shall be the duke of Avelon.'
'Do you all agree?' asked the King.
'Absolutely yes,' said everyone while Prince Lucas opposed.
'Why not?' the king questioned Prince Lucas, and everyone's eyes turned to Prince Lucas.
'How can you elect Xavier to be the next king? I mean, we both are twins, we were born together. What qualities do I lack? I'm stronger than him! So I must be the king. What do you all tell?' asked Prince Lucas.
Prince Xavier was silent. Everyone's eyes turned back to the king. The queen didn't know what to tell.
'Yes son, you are maybe right. But the qualities of a true king are being patient and being kind-hearted.' Replied the King.
'Oh rubbish,' said Prince Lucas.
'Mind your words, Lucas!' shouted Queen Savannah.
'Hmm, let's go in a fairer manner. Let there be a competition between Xavier and myself. What do you tell?' asked Prince Lucas.
The King looked at Prince Xavier. Prince Xavier stood up.
'Father, I think Lucas is right. Let's do this in a fairer manner. I accept Lucas's challenge.' Said Prince Xavier and sat down.
'Well, in that case, let the competition be held the day after tomorrow, evening at four.' Announced the king.
Lucas was happy and looking forward to the competition, so was Xavier. As soon as the meeting finished, everyone went to bed. Xavier and his wife, Serafina went to the top of the castle to have a chat while looking at the full moon.
'Have I made you feel bad?' asked Xavier.
'No, my darling,' replied Serafina.
'Why do you ask that question every full moon day' asked Serafina.
'All humans do mistakes, especially the married ones. If I have made you feel bad, I would seek forgiveness from you.' Replied Xavier.
'Ah, you are so kind-hearted' said Serafina.
'Well, what do you feel about the competition with your brother?' asked Serafina.
'Yeah, about that, I'm looking forward to it. I will try my best to win. But I won't feel bad if I lose the challenge.' Replied Xavier.
'Why?' asked Serafina.
'Because it's fate. We can't change it.' Replied Xavier.
'Yeah, you are right. Well, it's time for bed, so we better go.' Said Serafina. And they went to their room. As they are going in, they saw his nine years old son, Lois, wearing a costume like a king and playing with a real sword.
'Lois!' shouted Serafina. Lois put the sword and ran.
'Lois, how many times have I told you not to take my sword? In future, you'll get your one. Until then be patient.' Explained Xavier.
'Dad you promised me that you'll go for a walk with me around the palace.' Said Lois.
'Yeah, before that, when did you wake up?' asked Xavier.
'A few minutes ago,' replied Lois.
'Hmm, tomorrow let's go for a walk.' Said Xavier, and they went to bed.
