The improvements in Elekid's and Growlithe's levels were very high compared to the other because of their potential.
Alex spend his days training his pokemons and visiting the gym as an audience to see different challengers fighting Flint. Most challengers used water or grass pokemons to give them a type advantage, it works when fighting against ordinary trainers but against a gym leader as experienced as Flint type advantage is not much useful without high mastery to match these advantages. Alex learns many important things by watching the battles and also by having conversations with Flint about the battles.
Alex leaves after 7 days of stay in Pewter City and his destination is Mt.moon but when he reaches the Miners town after passing through two sentry camps one in Pewter City and the other in Miners town he spends the rest of the day there because of two reasons 1) The sentry camp up north has stopped all travels from Miners town to Mt.moon reason unknown. 2) The beauty of Miners town.
Although they call it a town the entire place in embedded with riches, costly stones were used almost everywhere in the town as if it just some sort of waste.
Alex decides the spend the night in one of the inns. He takes a warm bath and was about sleep when someone knocks at his door.
