Mai was packing her books when her mother knocked on the bedroom door and went inside. She had returned to Jakarta on the same day Aaron returned to Jakarta and decided to return to college tomorrow.
"Are you sure you want to go to college tomorrow?" her mother asked.
"Yes." Said Mai.
"If you still feel unprepared, you can postpone it, honey, there's no need to rush." Rose sounded worried.
"I'm a week away from my final exam mom, I've missed a lot of lessons, I might not pass later." Said Mai.
"You can take the follow-up exam," said Rose.
"Oh, it's delicious, I don't want it ah." Said Mai.
Mai imagines herself taking the exam alone in the lecturer's room, reluctant. Rose walked over to her, touched her daughter's shoulder.
"You are strong honey. You have to remember one thing, you are not alone so don't be afraid and don't worry about anything," said Rose.
Mai smiled, it seemed her mother was more worried than her.
