"Afraid of what?" Aaron asked back.
The girl chuckled.
"Why did you give up like that," she grumbled. Mai lowered her face and looked at her palm which was still on Aaron's stomach. Her chest suddenly throbbed with pain. Aaron didn't even try to remove her hand let alone protest. The boy just kept quiet and looked back at her with a sad and regretful look. She remembered their conversation at the villa, didn't Aaron then allow Mai to do anything to her? Mai bit her lip. Seeing Aaron keep blaming himself also hurt her. It was just as painful as she remembered all the careless things she did to Aaron. All the trouble she caused. Can they stop hurting each other?
"I promise I'll be fine," he said quietly.
"I won't blame myself anymore. I'll be fine." Said Aaron again.
The girl sighed and looked up again. Boldly, staring into those drooping brown eyes.
"Stop feeling guilty. Holding on to guilt isn't good." Said Mai.
