Giselle's POV
_______
Giselle picked up the phone hesitantly.
"Hello?" she says.
On the other end of the line, Sedrick's voice comes out casually, as if they were sitting at lunch like usual.
"Hey Giselle, I called to see how you were doing. I was worried you got suspended. Did they even give Fae any punishment?" He asked.
Giselle felt a sense of relief. Maybe Sedrick was a real friend, after all. "Hah, they would've given her punishment if I told them what she said about you, but I didn't feel it was right. Dr.Singdo put me on cleaning duty for a month and lunch detention, better than suspension, I guess."
Giselle further ranted about how she'd have to write an apology letter to Fae, Sedrick agreeing that it was messed up, but none the less he was glad Giselle was alright and that she was kind enough not to involve him.
Sedrick responded, "you know if I were you I would've said for sure what that bitch said about me, but you're too nice. You know maybe you should come to the boxing ring with me, let off some steam, there are other girls here, I'm sure you and Tonya would hit it off."
Giselle didn't know who Tonya was but she had to decline, she was still grounded. After a few more bits of conversation Giselle and Sedrick said their goodbyes, "See ya at school," he said.

Darians POV
________
After the long wait of the weekend Darian took out his new schedule to find to his pleasure that his first class would be with Giselle.
"Everyone, we have a new student in our class, please welcome Darian, I'm sure most of you already know him..." The teacher went ahead with introductions as the rest of the class paid attention a few kids in the back were zoned.
Giselle, unsurprisingly enough, in the middle of the classroom, didn't have anyone sitting next to her. Darian was almost thrilled with the luck he had while everyone else in the class felt bad for him.
Giselle couldn't hide her surprise, "Well this is pretty funny," she whispered.
Darian follows along whispering back, "yeah, I'm surprised to see you here. I wasn't expecting us to be in the same class." He lies between his teeth like it was his first instinct. He was surprised though, he wasn't actually expecting Giselle to speak first. He had to admit he was nervous, but Giselle's initiation made him feel better. She was alot more easy going than the other kids he talked to.
Darian almost forgot why he was there in the first place. He wanted to know what kind of things Giselle had to hide. What would a person like her even have to keep hidden.
Everyone has a secret.
He needs to know for his sketchbook. That is the only reason.

Giselle's POV
______
Throughout the first half of the day Giselle noticed Darian was in both of her morning classes, English and History. However when she went to Music class and Gym she was alone again. She felt it was almost unfortunate to have one friend yet not share any classes with said friend. Having an acquaintance in class like Darian definitely made her feel like less of an outcast though.
Giselle sits on the bleachers in the cold autumn sun before lunch starts and ponders her middle school days. She wonders how things became this way, people she once called her closest friends are her enemies and strangers.
"Daydreaming I take it?" A familiar voice said.
Giselle opened her eyes, it was Darian, blocking the sun from her view.
"Hah, I'm just... remembering... I suppose, missing my middle school days." Giselle suddenly asked herself why she said that to him. He probably didn't care that much.
"What was it like? Middle school that is?" Darian sits next to Giselle close enough for comfort.
"Uhm... I don't know, it's kind of blurry to me now, it wasn't that long ago but it feels far away. I used to have friends, a normal school life, but they don't wanna hang out with me anymore. I guess I was just a bad kid." Giselle shrugged.
"Well you haven't done anything wrong to anyone here. Besides you got into a fight because that Fae girl said something horrible right? I saw she approached your table before hand. You're not a bad person Giselle," Darian laid back as he said this letting the sun hit his face.
For once Giselle felt someone understood, or that people were at least willing to give her a chance.
"hah, yeah, I guess you're right." Giselle smiled almost painfully as the wind nipped at her nose.

Darian's POV
_____
Giselle had no idea that in that moment Darian couldn't help but stare at her teeth and moving hair as she smiled. Something he said that he didn't even genuinely mean, caused her to smile like that with an easiness to calm him. For once, Darian felt what it was like to be content.
He could feel his eyes widen at the realization of something bigger than him. He couldn't admit it, not in that moment no. But Giselle had completely taken over a part of him he didn't think existed. He only wanted to know more.

Giselle's POV
______
After passing Darian at the bleachers Giselle went ahead to lunch. He asked if he could sit with her, but Giselle had to explain she had detention.
"I don't want your friends thinking you hang out with me or talk to me. They might think you're a delinquent," she explained.
Giselle could tell Darian wanted to come with her, but she was more concerned about a stranger getting involved in her affairs. Sedrick having to deal with Fae was one problem enough stemming from Giselle's past.
"Then, can I hang with you as pay back for the flowers?" Darian smirked a little.
Giselle was caught off guard because he was right about the flowers. She couldn't really argue against that. Besides, it's just one day, and she'd rather not owe any debts.
"Alright, fine, but you can't say I didn't warn you."
Darian and Giselle went ahead in line, "So first day in the slammer of cleaning duty, huh?" a familiar voice said.
Darian and Giselle both look back to see Sedrick waiting with them.
"Yeah, I guess you could say that. It's the price I pay for helping my only friend out." Giselle shrugged.
After that line, there was an awkward silence brewing between the two boys looking at each other from over Giselle's head. "Oh yeah, Darian, this is Sedrick, Sedrick meet Darian. He's a flower boy. I owe him a favor." Giselle casual introduction released the ice almost immediately. She felt bad for not doing it sooner.
The two said hello awkwardly and gave each other small talk. Sedrick looked almost apprehensive while Darian, on the other hand, seemed annoyed. Giselle simply left the two to their own demise and went on her way to finish her cleaning duties after eating, Darian coming with her in tow.
