This was the profile of the last team members that logged into The Proxy. The Proxy was the name of the game developed by Afro-Beast, a world class tech production company based in Nigeria. Founded in 2035 by Engineer. Philip Oghenemine, Afro-Beast grew to be the number one tech enterprise in the world, and has maintained its title as number one till date(2049). The System is a dream sense, virtual reality game in which players can actually feel emotions, though still having a sense of reality.
Some other tech companies were not happy about this, hence decided to plant a virus in the System. This they did through a mole. Before the virus was discovered, it had gone viral in the system. The only option left was a global shut down of the game, before which a 5 minutes warning was given to players to log out of the game, but Fletcher and his team mates were still logged in, they were on a mission to save a group of student hostages, who were kidnapped by Terrorist Insurgents.
They were on their way out of the game, after successfully completing the mission when they saw an alert pop up on screen which read; "try as much as possible to stay alive, we will get you out soon, dying in the game could lead to actual death in reality". Blood hell! Could this be a prank or something? Rudolph yelled. I would rather not take chances, let's get out of this level as soon as possible Miss Sara replying to Rudolph as they sped through the exit portal, while watching the level 2 collapse behind them.
The pop up alert was the last message they got from the host. They had earlier shut down The Proxy before discovering that six players were still trapped in. The only option left was to send the message alert, to ensure the team mates try as much as possible to stay alive in the game to avoid their brain from frying.
Its been three days since Fletcher and his team mates got stuck in the game. Engineer Philip and his team of programmers were working day and night to the remove the virus and get the game back online. It was on a Saturday morning, 6th November, 2049. Fletcher and his team mates were on their eleventh mission, Kunle was in charge of assembling the team together. A day in reality was three months in the game world. He was assembling the team for their next mission which was to retrieve the Mafia diamond. Their rally point was New York City, from which they would take a flight to Moscow.
'Watch out!', Rudolph yelled at Miss Sara who was the pilot of the plane they boarded, as the plane was loosing altitude, after being distracted by Fletcher as he talked to himself. She was ease dropping on Fletcher. She considered Fletcher an interesting gentleman who needed true love to brighten up his life.
"Have you gone nuts? I bet it's those system bugs having a party in your Cerebellum" Rudolph continued. Pick on someone your own size, show some courtesy to the lady, Kunle replied in defense of Miss Sara. "So now you have decided to be the little baby seater, I will teach you a lesson" Rudolph replying back as he charged towards Kunle who seemed frightened. "Enough of this shit chat, we will not gain anything by fighting ourselves, everyone's full cooperation is needed as this game has become a Critique of life and death", Fletcher cried out as he stepped between both of them.
One unique thing the team liked about Fletcher, despite his cold nature, was his Motivation Spirit; he never saw a defeat in any Situation.
"Get ready guys, we are about to land", Miss Sara said.
The whole team now on land, driving towards the European Central Museum. Suddenly the front road got blocked, they were being attacked by General Him Wang's men, who had spotted them from afar. Snipers took out the two front tires as they tried reversing the car. They had no option but to get down and take cover in a near by Barber's shop. Meanwhile the enemy closed up on them raining bullets at the shop.
"Sara! Get me an eye out there. I need to know what we are up against. Miss Sarah nodded in response as she sent two mini drones out the window. "Doolittle, show Rudolph the way through the back of the Museum, I'm sure you will understand the map I sent to your Helmet bot. Use the back door of the Barbers Shop. Kunle stay behind me, we will go through the front. Let's move!", Fletcher instructing the team as he got his Riffle loaded. "So I'm going to seat here and watch you all have all the fun right?" Pablo replied as he fastened his fists. "Meet the Shop workers to show you the way to the roof, blow any obstacle on our way", Fletcher replied him. Why don't you 'Mofos' get the hell out of my shop!", The bar owner yelled at the team. Just one furious look from Rudolph, made him adjust in fret at the spot in which he took cover. "Good boy!" Fletcher said with a smirk on his face as he dashed out into the open.
