Tik tok...
The clock echoed throughout the quiet chamber, her fragile figure on her soft mattress. Her long blonde hair dangled off the side of the bed as many thoughts squeezed into her head, internally screaming at the deliberation of the circumstance. A long sigh escaped past her pink, luscious lips, deciding whether or not to believe she had gone back in time or she had gone mad.
"What is going on here?... This does not make sense at all. I should write down this situation just in case I forget the important details." She mumbled to herself. Rosanne then rolled off the bed, hurried over to her desk, and took her feathered pen, dipping the fine tip into the black ink. She wrote each vital detail and timeline out.
"Today is currently August 18, 1816. Four more weeks until my coming of age, the special announcement the king will make... my engagement with Prince Rayko." She sighed deeply at the thought of the situation.
Minor knocks were at the door, followed by a mellow voice, "My lady, it is supper time."
"You may enter," Rosanne said, placing her pen down as she turned her frame towards the door.
The nervous maid entered, and as she gave a slight bow, Rosanne realized how badly she had mistreated the servants before. A sigh left her mouth, thinking back to how immature she had been in the old days.
"My lady, would you like me to change you into your favorite pink dress?" The young maid asked, grabbing the garments from the closet. Rosanne cleared her throat, remembering how childish the dresses she had owned were; she then stood up and walked into her massive closet. There was not a single pair of dresses that was plain and simple.
"I'll take the dark blue one, tomorrow morning we will have to go dress shopping. Throw all my dresses in the closet or give them to my step-sister." She mumbled, massaging her temples.
Soon after, the young maid changed Rosanne into the dress leading her way to the dining room; a small smile appeared as soon as she saw her father and older brother, Joseph, sitting across from her old man.
"It is a pleasure to have supper with you, father and mother. along with brother Joseph, Lady Yasemin, and Sir Tobias." Rosanne spoke with a soft tone.
Although it was the first time calling Janet her mother since she wasn't biologically her mom but her stepmother who hated her guts along with her step-sister and her step-brother, Janet secretly sneered at Rosanne before making a small announcement, "Honey, we have amazing news. Yasemin had just received a plaque from the honors club."
Yasemin smirked at Rosanne before clapping her hands cheerfully, "I tried my very best, Father." She said with that annoying tone of hers.
Her father, Salvatore, nodded approvingly, "Congratulations, I shall reward you. Your present shall be given tomorrow morning. What about you, Rosanne? Is there anything you have done besides getting into any other trouble?" He said, clearing his throat in disappointment.
The two siblings snickered as Rosanne elegantly cut her steak, not being affected, "Ah yes, father, I haven't yet; however, I would like to start bettering myself." She said with a grin.
Her father smiled, nodding his head, noticing how Rosanne suddenly changed, somehow seeing her in a different light. He started talking to Tobias and Joseph about the plan for the war between our kingdom, Alynthi, and Gantrick.
'Right, that is when... half of our knights die due to the surprise attack and diseases... Joseph died as well...' She thought to herself.
"Uhm, father, may I cut in?" Rosanne suddenly spoke up.
Her father raised an eyebrow before nodding his head in response.
"This is just a proposition, but what if half of Gantrick's knights went around the area to attack our knights from behind and, along with the knights, migrated to an unfamiliar environment? There may be a high chance of many deaths due to a new disease outbreak. So we need to be cautious of this." She said with determination, not wanting her brother to die.
The whole family was shocked; Tobias laughed, "Oh please, Lady Rosanne, those are nonsense. Especially coming from a fifteen-year-old." He chuckled.
Joseph had a severe expression as he nodded slowly, "I think she is right, though, Father. Since we will be going into an unfamiliar place, there will likely be a disease due to the environment we are not used to."
The father lets out a low hum, "I think we should take this to the headboard meeting, Rosanne. I would like you to come with us since this was your idea. I am very proud to have an intelligent daughter like you." He said with a huge smile plastered on his face.
She smiled at the mother and daughter, both glaring at her. "Will you please excuse me, father? I have studies to do at the library." Rosanne lightly spoke.
Her father nodded his head. "You are excused." He said.
Rosanne then got up, bowing slightly before leaving for the library.
'I have to devise at least a plan to save Joseph from his death!' She thought before marching into the enormous library.
