The darkness faded as the light slowly reflected towards her, taking small steps towards it. Within each stride she takes, this white light emanates at the bottom of her feet. Her body felt lighter than usual, but then...
Whoosh.
Her see-through figure was now floating in mid-air as she re-watched the scene of her getting beheaded.
Whomp.
She shuts her eyes tightly as her bloody head rolls onto the graveled floor.
Wake up...
A voice whispered behind her as if it was like a bolt of electricity shocking her body. Her vision spiraled until it halted with the view of a ceiling, gasping for air as if she had been suffocated. She was drenched in sweat, breathing heavily as her head snapped back to the sound of the door bursting open with a loud wail.
"My lady! You're finally awake!" the old lady cried out as she grasped the female's pale hand.
Confusion struck the queen as to why someone who died years ago suddenly reappeared in front of her very eyes. Tears slowly trickled down her cheeks as she tightly held onto the elder's hand.
"I'm guessing this is heaven... Oh, how I missed you, Margaret." she sniffled.
"Heaven?... Pardon?.. Oh no! The miss must've hit her head; please, someone call the doctor!" she yelled to one of the other maids.
One of the maids dashes off to report the situation to the doctor, who is almost at the door, "Sir, wait! The lady has finally awoken! There seems to be something wrong with her!" she says, out of breath.
The doctor's eyes widened as he hurriedly entered the chamber, "What seems to be the problem?" he asked, firmly checking her pulse and pupils.
"Lady Rosanne, can you please tell me how many fingers I am holding up?" the doctor asked with three fingers up, staring at the pale girl with a worried expression.
Confused, She tilted her head, "Three." she answered.
What's going on?... Am I not dead?..
Why am I back home instead of the main castle?
Was it all a dream?..
"Where's Father and King Rayko?" she asked, eyes scanning the chamber.
It's still the same as when I was a child...
"You mean Prince Rayko?.. I think my lady should get more rest, and she isn't thinking straight now." Margaret said frantically.
Prince..? Wait, don't tell me!..
"What year is it!?" Rosanne immediately asked with her eyes widened in concern.
The maids and the doctor grew troubled at the sudden outburst as they glanced at one another.
"It is 1816, my lady." the doctor answered.
1816... no way, that means I'm back to when I was sixteen.
No, no, no. This has to be a dream!
