Looking at the view of the clear night sky, I held onto one of the close branches while I calmed my self by feeling the wind. I was on top of one of the highest trees in the forest but it only took me four high jumps to climb just to get here.
I'm probably half monkey.
My mind wandered off into the cold night, thinking of all the things I can still do to possibly get away from everything. To be free from all the responsibilities.
Suddenly my eyes glowed as my body became alert when I heard birds flocking on the tree not so far from where I am. Leaves fall down the tree as the birds try to leave their home quickly.
I looked at it and focused on the movements I can feel through the wind. I jumped to the tree next to me when I heard howling. I must've miscalculated the force I was supposed to use because I drastically fell down to the ground. Mind you, that tree was 12 feet tall. So falling from it would really be a pain on the back.
"Shit." I whispered to myself when I felt my body crash on the cold grass. I sat down and was devastated when I saw my leg covered with blood. "Now is not the right time to bleed, dumbass" I said to myself.
I took a deep breath, closed my eyes tight as I focused on my wound. A few seconds later I felt the tingling sensation of the thin layer of my skin growing back, just enough to stop the blood flow. I stopped there, I couldn't risk using too much power. I opened my eyes and other than tiredness, I feel okay.
Heal.
I stood up and ran fast when I heard footsteps near me. They were quite fast because they quickly caught up with me. When I knew they're just going to keep running, I stopped to catch my breath.
Frick, these guys are fast. I gotta think of a way to hide from them at least. That's it! I stayed quiet for a second, forcing myself not to breathe put through my mouth because I know they can hear the slightest of sounds and slowly let the mild stinging force of electricity flow through my every nerve. And there I was, in one blink of an eye, completely camouflaged.
I turned my head towards the direction where I heard footsteps. I was not wrong when I knew they were werewolves. They howled for a few seconds before their body lost fur, sharp teeth and paws, until they became humans. They looked around the place and walked quietly as they go forward. One of them held the tree I touched earlier to reach for my breath and I'm guessing they smelled me.
A tall man suddenly walked towards the group of men-slash-werewolves and all of them quickly stood straight to welcome him. He looked at one guy and they just shook their heads to say no. He didn't say a word before he ran fast and got down on his fours when he started to change into his real self again. One of the guys, the last one to turn himself into a werewolf looked at my direction before he shook his head and ran like the other ones.
I waited a few more minutes, staying calm and silent and trying to to move so that I wouldn't make a sound before I closed my eyes and breathed out. It was almost a whistle but thankfully it didn't continue. I looked at my hands and saw that I was back with the pale skin I had.
Invisibility.
I almost had a heart attack when someone held me from the back, tightly holding my hands on my back with his one hand while the other covered my mouth. Instinct made my eyes glow bright as I opened my palms and let a strong wind form on them before I got enough power to blast it onto his body. When I freed myself from his hold, I jumped on one of the nearest trees and held my pose: feet on tiptoes to the branch I was on and my left hand holding myself from falling while my right hand was pointed onto the man.
All of those things done in less than five seconds.
The person tough enough to hold me singlehandedly flew to the air as my own air pushed him. I was about to free another force from my hand when I saw him move but I stopped. I squinted my eyes and jumped down the tree as I calmed my self down to release the glow trapped in my eyes. I heard the person laughed out loud while I only rolled my eyes as I walked towards him.
He fixed his clothes that got a bit muddy because of his fall. He walked towards me and raised his hand for a high five but I took it down and punch him jokingly on his stomach.
"What do you think you're doing here, Alvin?" I asked, irritated as I walked past him. "You know how dangerous it is to be here, especially at night!"
He caught up before he put his arm on my shoulder. I pushed him away and glared at him. He raised both of his hands in defeat as he continues to walk beside me. "I went to your house okay? You weren't there. I was about to go home but I saw you before you turned invisible, I just hid from the wolves and waited for you." He explained.
Not enough. It was still so dangerous to go out at night. "Oh wait, did you know that Ama caught another one? They said it was a high ranked--" He stopped, or maybe that was what I thought. I didn't really care about what he was blabbering about so I lost track of what he said. I just continued walking towards a large tree. This tree was the heart of the forest, the tallest and largest one. I stopped when I reached it and looked on both sides, checking if there are any other entities close to me. There were none, so I just went ahead and pulled a vine connected to a branch and voila, a trapdoor opened. I walked in while Alvin was still talking about something I didn't bother listen to.
I walked down my wooden stairs to reach my one-room house. I jumped on my bed face first when I got near it. Oh how I've missed you.
Alvin, on the other hand, walked towards my table where my food stocks were. I remembered I had my fruits out on my table.
I HAD FRUITS OUT ON MY TABLE!
The thought made me got up from my comfortable bed and form my right hand as if it was a gun before letting out wind from the tip of my finger. I purposely let it hit the wall, only inches from Alvin's hand that was going to reach out for an apple.
He slightly jumped and looked around due to instinct that something is attacking him before looking at me when he realized I was the one attacking him. I smirked at him and moved my finger close to my mouth and blowing on the top of it, making sure the smoke was visible from my finger so it looked like I was really holding a gun. His face only became more disappointed when he saw me do that.
"Andy! I just wanted one!" He cried. He was about to grab it when this time, I just looked at him while my whole palm was faced towards his direction. I felt my eyes glow a bit when I tried to move objects around the room with my wind like there was an earthquake. Like I wanted, he moved back and pouted.
I put my hand down when I noticed his pout just became bigger. I smirked at it before letting myself relax and fall onto my bed again. I can still hear Alvin's rants about me not giving him food.
"So selfish."
"I just wanted one."
"Destined to save? I could've died if she hit me!"
My eyes automatically rolled on its own when I heard what he said. "Alvin, you do know I can still hear you even if you were ten meters away right? Is that even a whisper?"
"I just want one, Andy!"
I looked at him before I shook my head in defeat. I got up again and harshly scratched my hair, one of the things I do when I get stressed or irritated. Alvin rushed towards my table and got his apple. He went back to his seat close to the stairs before smirking at me.
"Thank you, Candit." He said, knowing that my own name pisses me off. I threw a pillow at him because he indeed pissed me off. He just laughed at it and continued eating. While eating he continues to tell the story he says earlier and I still didn't bother listen.
I honestly can't think of how he does that, eating and talking at the same time without anything falling off of his mouth. When I couldn't take his noise anymore I got up and shot a glare at him.
"You're too loud!"
I am so tired all night trying to look for food and resources to feed me and help me survive. And with all of those goons trying to capture me, it just made it harder. I even fell off of a tree for God's sake! His voice just keeps adding on my stress pile.
"Ay, Avatar's on that time of the month."
"Shut up chipmunk."
I heard his small laugh before doing as I asked. He quietly finished his apple before he stood up and just looked around my house.
I lay down and closed my eyes, forcing my self to sleep even though the wind outside is strong enough to bother me.
It's going to rain.
I sighed loud before getting up and walk towards the door which made Alvin look at me. He must've guessed why I got up because he followed quickly.
I closed my hidden door and made sure nobody is around us.
I took a deep breath before giving all my attention to the lower part of my body, especially my feet and legs. I added force on them before jumping high, as I immediately reached one of the largest branches my tree has. Alvin did the same, although he is a few branches lower because I am naturally stronger. I repeated jumping until I reached the highest point of the tree. I peeked half of my body and the other half supporting me so I wouldn't just fall down.
A few minutes later then Alvin showed up. I didn't look at him and just closed my eyes and focusing on feeling the movement of the wind.
Other than invisibility and camouflage, speed and strength, I can talk to the wind. Talking to it is like talking to myself, that's because I see myself and the wind as one person. I have the ability to clean polluted air if I needed to. I can clear it up to ten yards around me and it will only take three minutes, sometimes faster. But of course, the faster I do it the faster my energy drains. Sometimes, when my pull to the wind is so strong, it's movement bases on my moods. If I'm sad, it's a bit slow, cold and gloomy. When I'm mad, it's fast, hot and strong.
That's how my world is messed up.
I opened my eyes as I felt it glow. Instinct kicked in, making almost every part of my body alert. I grabbed Alvin that looked like he didn't knew anything happening. I jumped down with him but I let him free from my grasp the second we jumped. One straight jump from 20 feet above the ground is quite a strong impact, but I still stick my landing even though it hurst a lot. I made air come up from the ground when Alvin was supposed to hit it, making his landing more smooth than mine.
I ran fast, and so did he. But he wasn't fast enough so I pointed my hand towards his feet and made a forcefield around him, making him float in thin air. I gestured a push and it quickly flew Alvin towards a cave while I stayed on the back. I can't go back to my house, I have to lead anyone that's following me far.
We stayed quiet inside the cave. The opening lf the cave is quite small but it was wide inside. I felt the person following us go near so I made the forcefield silent but made it more firm, making sure he is not going to get hurt. I went close to him before I whispered, "They smelled my blood."
His face was a mixture of worry and fear because he knew about all the many people who wants to get me.
I looked at him and freed him from the forcefield when he banged on it. His eyes glowed as he asked, "Which one?"
I took a deep breath before I felt the movement of wind around us. Just then, a person's silhouette blocked out our moon light. Both our eyes glowed as we grabbed on to our powers.
"Vampires."
