"Should we go see how Kaz is doing with the new recipes?" Kershka asked.

So we got up and headed to Kaz's bakery. I was a little surprised it was still open. The assistant came out from the back. I heard a strange metallic sound to his every other step.
"Welcome to Kaz's bakery, how may we assist you?" The man asked.
"Do you have a nail in one of your shoes?" I asked.
"No, madam. My leg is made of metal." He said.
"Why? No, sorry. That is rude. We came to see how Kaz's new recipes are going." I said.
"I do not know what you are talking about. No new recipes are coming out of the bakery yet." The man said.
I shrugged. "Alright. Well, does he need more chocolate yet?"
"How do you know about the chocolate? I didn't leak anything. I know it." He replied.
"I gave the chocolate to him. I bought it in the Night Market from the Southern Empire." I explained.
"Ahhh." He said, understanding. "Kaz is very secretive with his recipes. He didn't even tell me how he got them."
"Hm. One moment, gentlemen." I said, using the Port Key to go to the Night Market. I bought some chocolate icecream cones for the three of us, and returned. I gave Kershka his, then offered one to the assistant. "It's chocolate icecream. Care to try?"
"Alright. I'll try it." He said, accepting the small cone from me.
"I got minced strawberry glaze put in the bottom. It's the best combo." I told the men.
"It does sound like a good combination." He agreed.
I nodded. Encouraged him to eat it, and started licking mine. I snuggled up to Kershka as he ate his treat. I opened my eyes to look up at my Darling Hjerte. "Do you ike it, Darling?"
"It's very cold, but tastes good. Like eating snow." Kershka said.
"What do you think, Junior Baker?" I asked.
"I believe if we show Kaz this he will come up with another recipe." He said.
"Oh, is his Misses in?" I asked.
"Yes, I believe she is in the back. Would ypu like to talk to her?" He asked.
"Uh-huh. I think so. I'l give her some icecream, too." I said. "Should I get one for Kaz?"
"No! There is plenty of things to do already!" He said.
I laughed. "Alright. Well, will you get her?" I asked.
"Sure thing." He went to retrieve her.
When he came out with him, she said, "Hello, what can I do for you?"
"Would you ike a chocolate icecream?" I asked.
"I don't know what that is." She said.
I used the Port Key and fetched her one, bringing it back and offering it to her. "Here you go. Try it."
She shrugged, took it and said, "Alright." And took a bite out of it. "Oh, this is so.. ah... ahhhh.. why does it hurt."
I looked at her, "Oh, you got brain freeze. Press your tongue to the top of your mouth and swallow hard. It happens when you eat cold things too fast."
She did as I said. After she was relieved some, she said, "This is a yummy and dangerous treat."
I giggled. "Yes, if you lick it slowly it is less likely to hurt, and more likely to tlbe yummy... and to heat up your hubby if he's nearby."
"How would it heat him up, precisely? This is a very cold treat." She asked.
I gave her a mischievous and knowing look. "Anyways, it's nice to meet you, Miss."
"It"s nice to meet you, too. Are you two the ones who brought my husband some recipes? He's been working like a mad man." She said.
"Oh, sorry." I said.
She laughed and waved her hand, "No, no. Time of his life."
I smiled, "I can feel the love you share in that sentence."
"Oh? You sound like you speak with experience." She said.
I smiled brightly. "Yes. I love Kershka."
Kershka gave me a one armed hug. I hugged him and offered him the rest of my icecream. He accepted it, "Thank you. This is very tasty."
I smiled. Kaz's wife said, "You two are cute."
"Kaz said we remind him of you and he." I said.
"Oh, did he now? I wonder why. What could possibly be his comparison?" She asked.
"Hmm.." I thought on it. "A woodsman wife and homebody hubby?"
She burst into laughter, "Yeah, that's definitely it."
"I was right, huh? I just got the feeling that you would typically spend time among the trees." I said.
"I was one of the towns hunters." She said.
"I was not told that. Have you retired?" I asked.
"Temporarily ceased activities is what Tilton is calling it." She said.
"Hmm. Well, when you resume that job, let me know, because I will have to take proper note of your activities, or I may have to treat you like a poacher. I am sorry, it is just the way the laws are under the Queen." I said, regretfully.
"Oh, Tilton has already informed me of all that. I will let you know far in advance." She said.
I sighed in relief. "Thank you. That's been a fight more than once."
"Who has been fighting you about such simple things?" She asked.
"Oh, no one much here. It was in my previous territory in the Queen's homeland. The Tigrine itch to kill, just like tigers." I said.
"I don't know what a Tigrine is, but they sound tempermental." She said.
I nodded. "Yes. You shoud have seen the queen the first time she got her monthlies. She wrecked everything at the lean-to. She's an Island Tigrine, so much smaller than Jungle Tigrine. Taiga Tigrine are as large or larger than Goliaths even. If you ever see Raiden.... just try to stay away from him." I shivered a little. "He's not right."
"Alright, I'll keep that in mind." She said.
"I'd make him behave." Kershka said.
I smiled and said, "Yes, you probably could."
He placed his hands on his hips and harrumphed. I giggled and turned back to Kaz's wife, then said, "Say, my name is Vern, what was yours?"
"My name is Goruza." She said.
I grinned and said, "Great! Let's be friendly!"
She smiled, "Sure."
Kaz came out of the back, "Ah, this is what all the ruckus is. Welcome!"
"Hello, Kaz. I am making a friend of Goruza!" I said.
"Good, good. She's been feeling a little stir crazy being stuck in the house lately." He said.
"Well, it'll be around a month before I can have real time off." I said. "So maybe I can plan an outing for Goruza and I if she's up for it. I can show her the jungle I used to manage."
"A jungle? I've only heard stories about jungles. I'm up for it." Goruza said.
"It will test all of your skills, I assure you. I'll be sure to get a hunting pass from the Queen." I smiled.
"I'm feeling pumped already." Gorusa said.
"Oh, I am sure you two will have a blast." Kaz said. "I'm glad you'll be able to see a jungle. Ever since you've seen it in a book you've been wanting to go."
"We can bring you back rice flour." I said.
"Rice flour? How is it different from regular flour?" Kaz asked.
"Hm.. that's difficult to say. Some find it to be less tasteful, but others say it doesn't bother their stomache like wheat. It changes textures of certain foods, and makes a netter thickening agent." I said. "It doesn't work with yeast, though. It makes delicious steamed buns, though."
"Well, that sounds interesting." Kaz said.
"I'll make some, some time, and we can all eat together. How about that?" I asked.
"That sounds like a great idea." Goruza said.
I grinned, hugged Kershka's arm, looked up at him and said, "There we go, more for the house warming party when we get settled in."
"It will be a big party." Kershka said.
"Mhm. We'll have to invite your friends after all, and the ones I've made here." I said.
Goruza said, "I will have to find a house warming gift. Do you have a tea pot yet?"
"Oh, no need to. Just coming would be nice. Well, I may invite my cousin.. so if you culd be nice to her, that would be great." I said.
"Nope. You are getting a tea pot." Goruza said.
"Don't bother arguing." Kaz said. "And why wouldn't we treat your cousin nicely? Is that common practice not to?"
"Well, thank you in advance for the tea pot, then. Yes, my cousin does tend to not always have a welcome reception. She is a Hill Giantess." I explained.
"That won't be a problem as long as she doesn't try to throw my husband. That has been a problem before." Goruza said.
"Well, I don't think she will. The last time she threw someone... well, nevermind. I'd rather not discuss that. But, she won't hurt anyone who does no harm apurpose." I said.
"We'll be sure to.. be kind." Kaz said.
"I'm secretely hoping she'll plant some flowers around our place." I admitted.
"What flowers are you hoping she plants?" Gorusa asked.
"Hmm. She has some roses that people say are black that she's been tending for a hundred years. Or Elvish Galingale. They smell wonderful." I said.
"I've never heard of those." She said.
"The Elven Galingale keeps people warm in cold climates. It smells good and is useful." I said.
"That sounds like a lovely flower." Goruza said.
I nodded. "Nisri has all kinds of flowers. They are her pride."
"I would like to see those flowers." Kershka said.
"Well, you did say you'd like to meet her. If you want, we can do so tomorrow." I told him.
"Ok. We can do that after the furniture." Kershka said.
I smiled at him. We talked to Kaz and Goruza a little more before heading out so they could close up. Then Kershka asked me if I wanted him to stay with me this night. Teasingly, I pouted t him and said, "You just want to lay with me again."
"If you want rest, I can stay at Bibs'." Kershka said.
"If you want rest you should stay at Bibs'." I replied, laying my hand on his chest.
He gave a big grin. "I am rested."
I giggled, and jumped up and wrapped my arms around him. "You can stay with me, Darling. And we can play if you wish."
"Alright. I will stay with you tonight." He said, wrapping his arms around me.
"I will not ever turn away your company." I told him.
"Hm.. I might test that. I hope not, but I might." He said.
"Even if I am angry with someone, I just stay nearby them and show that I'm grumpy. Since I've been blind most of my life, I couldn't use absences to show my anger so I used my unyielding presence to do so." I told him. I smiled sadly at a memory. "I once as a child got angry with my Father before bedtime and perched on my parents bed and stayed with them the whole night looking angry. Father apologized the next morning, and I heard him tell Ma that the scariest this he ever woke to was my blind butt holding a tiny lamp that I didn't need and glaring at him."
"That would be scary. I hear a twinge of sadness to this story, you okay?" He asked.
"Yes. I am alright. I just miss them. They died fifty years ago." I said.
"That is sad. It never feels good to out live those you love." Kershka said.
I nodded. "I should have made more of an effort to see Nisri all this time. But with more time, I should be able to."
"Maybe she would want to move to the area. That would make it very easy." Kershka said.
"It would. But I worry about the adventurers potentially taking issue with her." I sighed.
"There are laws now. They have to be nice. Or they get in big trouble." Kershka said.
"That is true." We'd gone to the Inn and checked into a room. Once we were comfortably settled in the room, I said, "Are you sure you want to stay the night with me?"
"Yes. I am certain." He said.
"I want you to sleep at some point, ok?" I told him.
"Then I better get worn out." He said, picking me up, and laying me in bed.
I undid my clothing and said, "My, aren't you insatiable?"

"Steam buns with ginger pork inside. Oh, and honey rolls. And I like mini mushroom frittatas..." I said. "Mm. And I like honey oat bars with almonds."
"Wow.. I need to learn more breakfast foods." Kershka said.
"Not a problem. I will feed you well." I said pridefully. "No ones better at feeding a man than a raised Giantess!"
"I can not wait. I am sure you will make even more great food. I may need to start adventuring again to stay strong." He said.

"With this much food, I am sure we wil be full. At least mostly." He said.
I smiled and took Kershka's hand. "I'll have to go see the Queen tomorrow."
"Well, how long will that take? Not long, right?" He asked.
"I'm not sure. At least all day." I said. "But the next day I have to start my rounds again."
"Okay. I will.. work on puzzle." He said.
"Did you get attached to me being around in just a day?" I asked.
"No... but maybe." He said.
I smiled and kissed his hand. "I will miss you a lot while we're apart. We need to get the furniture ordered and visit my cousin still today."
"Right. Right. We have things to do." Kershka said.
"And we need to check in Aiko." I reminded him. "But what did you want to do that you forgot?"
"I was just lost with you." He said.
I moved a little closer and kissed him. Our food as being brought to us now, and I told him, "I love you."
"I love you, too. Let's dig in." He said.
"Mhm! Smells so good!" I said. I thanked the person who brought the food, then Kershka and I began eating. It was good. I'd ordered our favorites and offered Kershka to try mine. He didn't care if I stuffed my cheeks, or ate politely.
After we finished our meal and handled the bill, we returned to Dueling Rivers. Where we checked on Aiko's egg, taking it with us, and heading to Hearthstone, where we ordered the furniture from a man named Kreig. He understood exactly what I wanted when I explained it to him. Sturdy furniture indeed. Next we fetched Biri and went to my cousin's home. Ever observant as she was, when we approached her home she stepped outside to greet us. Well, sorta greet us.
"*Who're you and why you with my little cousin, eh?*" She demanded to know.

"*He is mine, Nisri. We're having a house built, and we're gonna have babies. Maybe soon if we keep on as we are.*" I said, smiling gleefully and hugging Kershka about his neck, as he was still carrying me.
Nisri processed that slowly. "*Well, I won't club him and feed him to my plants, then. Hold up. You watchin' me?*" She moved to the side then back as I watched her. "*You can see!*"
"*Yes. I can. Will you come to our house warming party? It should be in a few weeks.*" I said.
"*Sure, I will.*" Nisri agreed.
We all got to talking and she invited us inside. We sat and had tea with her and she gave us snacks. Her cup was large, even for Kershka, but she was a true Giant, so it only made sense. After we caught up with each other, and she got to know Kershka some, I decided it was time to ask her about meeting Osgard.
"*So, the man I am training to help me do the Ranger job is an Oni, and interested in tending flowers. His knowledge is lacking, though. I wondered if you'd like to meet him? I fear he may kill any flower he tries and grows.*" I explained to her.
"*He must not be to annoying if you're asking. Sure. I"ll prepare some flowers to teach him with.*" Nisri decided.
It was decided I'd introduce them in a week. Biri was happy she got her pets from Nisri. I asked her if she had any small fruit trees she'd part with. She concluded she could have one or two that she could bare to let go. We talked a little more before Kershka and I returned to Dueling Rivers with Biri and Aiko's egg.
Kershka and I decided to keep each other over night again. We rented a room and had dinner there, before having sex several times. I slept deeply after, curled up in Kershk's arms. She then gave me gifts for Kershka, after expressing her surprise that I was no longer blind. She didn't want to keep me from him, so sent me back.
