Chereads / DEATH OF A HERO / Chapter 3 - Maya

Chapter 3 - Maya

On the other side of the computer was a beautiful girl with breasts the size of watermelons. Her skin was so pale she seemed like a vampire. She wore purple lipstick and heavy mascara. On her neck was a stylish black choker that had spikes on it.

The raven black hair on her head was styled as a pigtail. She wore bracelets that also had spikes on them. She was dressed like a rock and roller who just came from the depths of hell. She wore dark, elegant and luxurious clothing on her body. Fishnets on her thighs covered by a miniskirt. A black shirt that matched perfectly with her cardigan. Her legs were covered with black and white striped socks that went past her knees and almost connected with her miniskirt.

Her legs were resting on her chair that she was sitting on. It seemed like she was squatting on her chair and this was partially true. She was barely squatting but her behind was on the chair. Her back was arched over like a hunchback and Ceaser stared into her deep emotionless eyes. She wore big blue headphones. The bags under her eyes reminded Ceaser of Ms Mikly.

The most scary part of of her wasn't her black attire or her dark room walls which were filled with satanic pictures. It was her white eyes. Ceaser knew these were contacts but she looked blind. Ceaser could not tell where she was looking.

"Hey Maya, what you saying?" Ceaser asked as he reached for a first aid kit that was lying near him.

"Oh my God! your face..."

"Its just the usual why are you acting surprised?"

Maya let out a loud laugh. "You look like child that was stung by bees... hahaha...you look...Haha...Your face looks like it had a surgery after you kissed a beehive... You look like an injured abominable snowman... you look like Mohamed Ali punched the shit out of you...moral of the story, you look like shit... " Ceaser tended to his wounds as Maya died from laughter not stopping for a second with her taunts.. He used his camera as a mirror and applied alcohol to his wounds.

"And your still a bitch." Ceaser said. Maya let out a raucous roar of laughter.

"A bitch who doesn't look like she was pimp slapped the shit out of with a backhand."

Maya's laughter reached a point where she could not even breath. She used her inhaler quickly and soon the laughter died down.

"By the way, their is a new super in the UK." Maya said as she wiped the tears out of her eyes. Ceaser patched up his skin with a needle and strings. He winced in pain as the needle entered his skin. This was easy for him, he had done it way to many times.

"And? If I cared I would have known that before you?" He said.

"Why do you hate super heroes? You read so many comic books and manga's. If super heroes exist then you all of people should like them."

"There is a difference between real life and comics. In comics we have time to bond with the characters, we see their beginning, their origin, the choices they make, their ends and most importantly what I like most about superhero in comics is their relatability. They have cool powers not gonna lie, but it's hard to like someone you don't know anything about or care about."

"So if you knew more about these characters would you like them more?" Maya asked over the screen as she took a long puff from a vape. When she exhaled the smoke formed three circles each bigger than the other.

"Not necessarily, its kinda like Tsundere's you wish they were real but it just is not worth it. These so called super heroes cause more damage than help. The way they talk is arrogant, their style of fighting is flashy and full of boasting. These people are heroes for the fame and money. Nothing else."

"Would you be a hero if you could be one?"

"I'm not really sure but I would probably try my best."

Ceaser had finally managed to stitch his face. There was a saying that said "Snitches get stiches" but this situation was just funny for some reason. Ceaser inwardly laughed in his head.

"What do you want to play?" Maya asked Ceaser.

"How about some fifa?"

"It isn't worth it! How about some NBA2k?"

"I don't know how to play that. Let's just settle on neutral ground GTA5?"

Time passed by quickly as Maya and Ceaser played together. It was now 1° clock in the morning. He hadn't realised this until his mother came into his room and told him to go to sleep.

"I got to go. We'll play more Tommorow." Ceaser said to Maya.

"Why do you have to go to sleep early today?"

"Because unlike you I have to go to school and tommorow is a big day. We're going on a school trip to The Origin of Britain museum."

"That's a dumb but fitting name. Ok bye then."

Ceaser ended the call and got ready for bed. He brushed his teeth and took of his t-shirt. He fell asleep almost immediately.

_____________

Ceaser woke up to the crow of a rooster. He blinked several times to adjust his eyes and turned to look at his alarm on his desk.

"5 o' clock. I can get to school in two hours time if I walk."

He begrudgingly heaved himself out of bed to get ready for school. 20 minutes later Ceaser was ready to leave the house. His keys, wallet and phone were in his pocket and his empty bag on his back.

Ceaser walked for quite a while before he smelt the familiar scent of bagels, breads and coffee.

It was the bakery that Ceaser worked at as a part timer. It was open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Ceaser walked in and a bell jingled as soon as he opened the door. "Welcome." a merry voice greeted him. Ceaser looked at the source of the voice and saw a short man with brown hair and a goatee who was wearing an apron, smiling at him.

"Oh...it's you." he said. The smile on his face left and he let down his gaurd. He pulled out his phone from his pocket in his apron and started texting.

"Hmmm, is that how you treat a customer?" he asked.

"Shut up man, don't act like that. It makes you sound like a Karen."

"Anyways I'm going on a school trip, I need some pastries and sandwiches."

The man put down his phone and walked over to Ceaser. "What do you want then?"

Ceaser told him what he wanted and the man got everything he wanted.

"Six sandwiches, four of them cheese and onion and the other two tuna and mayo, two bagels, three doughnuts, two Zin crisps, five croissants, a cup of coffee and five zin orange flavoured can drinks. Is that right?"

"Yes, how much is it?"

"That is £30.20 but since you are an employee you get a 30 percent discount which calculates to £21.14. So card or cash?"

Ceaser tapped his card on the card machine and paid. "Listen, there isn't any orange flavoured Zin drinks but there is cherry and blueberry, which one do you want?"

"Just give me the cherry."

Ceaser left the bakery with a giant bag he put in his bag and a coffee cup and a sandwich in his hand. He needed this caffeine, he hadn't slept well last night. Only four hours sleep and a two hour walk to school. The buses were running but he didn't have his oyster card so he had to walk.

___________

"What is taking so long?" A deep voice with an African accent said. The voice came from a dark corner, and in the corner there stood the silhouette of a giant with four arms.

"I'm doing my best my lord, but my signals are being interfered with by an outside force. The process is complete and ready, all that is left is to bypass this outside force." A man who was hunched over a computer said. The man was wearing a colourful dashiki, sokoto and kufi.

The man could be described as tall, dark and handsome. Being called handsome was truly an understatement. The man was so handsome that anyone would be depressed if they compared themselves to him.

"What is this outside force you speak of? It has already been 100 hundred years since you started researching a way out of here. My powers grow weaker and weaker by the year. ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT EVEN AFTER A CENTURY YOU CANNOT BYPASS THIS EXTERNAL FORCE? I NEED A HOST RIGHT NOW! YOU EITHER DESTROY THIS FORCE TODAY OR YOU WILL BE MY HOST! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?"

The man swallowed his saliva before shakily replying "Yes, my lord." The man knew he would not survive if he became a host. He watched as hundreds of people gave their bodies to him to use as a vessel thinking they could survive easily only for them to burst after a short period of time.

He was no fool and he did not want to burst into a million pieces. He changed the screen on monitor and started typing away and with every single tap on the keyboard the shiny sphere object inside the giant test tube revolved spinning round and round.
